To play against Rafa- you have to understand the he goes after every ball and he puts every ounce of energy into it. If the opponent is not spot on in their game and doesn't start taking charge then they don't have a chance! Rafa thrives on dictating the game! He is the intimidator!

    • @axel978

Nadal fan here. All he needs is one win over them on Hard Courts or Grass. The lack of confidence gets him. On Clay, he has a different status. Cannot describe, GOAT seems bit lose a term for what he is on Clay. Because of his utter dominance, his name will remain in the Tennis books for a very long time, so he seems not too worried about the GOAT race. Also, the fact that Djokovic and Federer are better on those surfaces plays a huge part.

Against the top 3, Hyeon Chung needs to go without wearing glasses against these guys he needs every bit of details of what his opponent is doing and the position of the tennis ball while dynamically in plays. With his glasses it's a setback since the lens cloud up and the frame causes blind spots miniscule as it be, every detail and early info helps a player better to prepare for an offensive or defensive winning shot. Additionally against the top 3 they're at another level so Hyeon needs to be best equiped as possible. I hope somehow Hyeon losses the glasses to get the edge back and contends for within top 7 ranking within 3-5years. From history I don't know any men wearing glasses was able to achieve ranking within the top 5 players, do you?

Wawrinka Medvedev Federer is the toughest path for Djokovic but I doubt, with his shoulder pain, he can beat Wawrinka. Nadal has Cilic and Federer Goffin in pre quarters. The 2R s should get through. Federer may not last the gruel till Finals. Rafa has the best chance among the Big 3 to win USO 19.But again, strange things have happened.

I don't think nadal was good today.. he really missed a lot of shots that he usually likes.. and he really need to play better then this if he's willing to lift the trophy
    happy that he won though

Chung knew he'd gotten a lesson when he smiled at the net. Nadal just too strong and Korean made some strategy/stroke errors (like hitting right back to Nada on the volley). Rafa with that pirate sneer LOL

Since what happened at the AO, we Rafa fan must wait till he faces Novak to judge if he can beat him. Before that it’s only a warmup.
