FINALLY!!! I've been waiting for your take on this topic because other channels already made their videos about this-the Ages of Man! It's very similar of the Yugas in Baghavad Gita of India and the 5 suns of Aztec/Mayans. I believe that the 5 ages of man is a real historical event and indeed we're in the Iron Age. I hope the gods will return back here on earth. 🫶

Interesting video; I'd like to know more about what caused the transition from the Golden Age to the Silver Age. Here it just seems like a gradual decay without a defining cause or causes.
Most mythologies tend to fill that gap with a "Fall of Man" story. In Greek mythology that would probably be "The Theft of Fire by Prometheus"
Also interesting ,how close it is to the Sumerian Myth about the ages of man.

I heard in school about this, Hronos, he was titan of time and made humans basicly immortal but after zeus come to power that ends.
There different interpretations of how the golden age ends first is because Prometheus stole the fire from Olympus to make man smarter and Zeus punished him and humanity the other is because cronos didn't interacted with humans they never had need for anything but after Zeus came to power he wanted worship

I don't know what to say about our currant age. But can we get a vid on the primordial time god Chronos pls. Chronos happens to b Father Time, just as Gaia is Mother Nature. There's not 1 vid on him.
I am sure the Greeks of old would be less inclined to a literal acceptance of this ... timeline of sorts -- and more interested in its didactic purpose. What can be learned from this legend framework of human development and how can we put it into worthwhile action today.

Sounds to me like the humans of the golden age were similar to the Dunadain of Middle Earth.
I think we are in the Age of Greed & Selfishness. Everything that is happening in this world relates to "I want, i want..." And now is is the greediness of "I will do anything to take over this world's money".

What were the reasons and circumstances in the down spiral from one superior age to the next below? It resembles a bit the Ancient Greek circle of government: democracy, aristocracy, and monarchy, and the three degenerate forms of each of these governments: ochlocracy, oligarchy, and tyranny.
If I remember correctly the golden age was during the rule of the Titans who saw fit to easily hand everything to mortals. While the Olympians seem to favor proof of deserving such things, instead of easily handing them over to mortals. I'll be honest I prefer the rule of the Olympians as the struggle towards earning success, wealth, wisdom etc, made it far more meaningful and rewarding when accomplishing the tasks given by The Olympians. Also with everything being abundant and immediately harmonious, there was no desire to pursue great feats in art, civilization success, and etc. While a paradise, it left very little room for a desire to do great things, an opportunity which the Olympians offered.
It reminds* you of that. The resemblance is not that big.

Hi! I'm using some of these videos as jumping-off points for research. Where did the idea of the flood come from? The flood ending the Silver Age isn't mentioned in Works and Days, it just says the gods "put [the people of the Silver Age] away". Is there another work that talks about this flood? It seems quite similar to other flood myths from Judeo-Christian and Babylonian mythologies (among others) but I hadn't heard of it in Greek mythology, at least not in this context. Could anyone give me a source? Thanks in advance :)

I think it's safe to say, Greek mythological era's have already ended. Very little, if anyone even worships the Greek Gods. Life is difficulty, it isn't a utopia like the gold age. But it's not as bad as the bronze age. Sure there are pestilence, but we have modern medicine to combat that. Although we don't live as long as the humans from the gold age. We certainly have a longer life expectancy than most other era's in human history.

Life is cylical. We are in the he dawning new Era of a New Chapter and Golden age as depicted by the Star, Asteroid and Planetary alignments. Which is what our Ancestors used to depict the Era or time they were in...thus why the bible states that he End of of Time and is also written in code based on the same alignmets.
