In device manager under other devices after removing the USB cord and putting it back in nothing pops up??

It started when I plugged in the usb drive, I began installing a game with a large file and therefore needed the extra space which is why I bought it in the first place. But after it downloaded several files already it suddenly stopped and showed the error. I’m not sure if installing my game on this device corrupted it or if something else is going on.
I’ve tried updating the software but Windows still doesn’t recognize it. My laptop has a very small hard drive.. but it was all I could afford. Honestly I just wanna be able to play my games in peace.
