people mistake art style for animation all the time with the show, I can understand someone not liking the art style but the animation is only getting better and better.
What I wouldnt give for *all* of Rebels episodes to be 40 minutes long. I really do like Rebels, i just feel it needs to have longer episodes for greater development etc.
I do not want to see 3-4 episode arcs like Clone Wars. I loved that show but often times, they could have trimmed the fat. They don't need those long episodes to get from A to B.
I just saw this episode.. The music was perfect, and the animation was awesome. Also I loved seeing the TIE Defenders and rebel fleet, Secret Cargo was really amazing! I'm so hyped for the season finale.
This was the Rebels episode I've been waiting for since season 1. I want Rebel Soldiers fighting Imperials, is that so hard to ask? And TIE Defenders omg so cool! So glad they are canon again.
This is really the wrong time period for that. The large(ish) scale ground battles and planetary campaigns really don't begin until after the Battle of Yavin in canon.
Oh I know, the Galactic Civil War doesnt really officially start until Scarrif. I just love me some actual battles rather than small skirmishes. This was almost a battle, almost. Definitely the feel and stakes of one.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Love Rebels Recon SO Much!!! I Miss It I Wish they would keep doing this for The New Shows. I LOVE THIS SHOW SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
This episode had potential, but it's yet another episode of the ghost outrunning/escaping from imperial ships. Thrawn could've done something cool, we could've seen Dantooine, we could've seen more of the growing rebellion rather than just a bunch of ships at the end. Maybe next time.
I'm currently reading the Thrawn trilogy, and he's not an unstoppable all-knowing force that always defeats the rebels, he's lost some battle, since he plays the long game and uses small defeats to recognize his enemies tactics. Just wait till the finale and you will see Thrawn (hopefully) destroy the rebels.
Elliot Kouame No, nothing that happened in this episode was realistic. If this show was realistic, the ghost crew would have been dead by the first season. Plot armor is real in this show and makes it boring.
Tony's World But the description of a filler states that (A filler episode can be as short as 1 episode, or as long as an entire season of the anime. These episodes were not a part of the original source content's story, and usually serve absolutely no purpose in furthering the main story) so that means plot and character stories name one that dosnt move the plot or character story
Jezz Cody is gone he got decommissioned did you not watch the episode where they recruit it Captain Rex they stated that all the Imperial clone troopers were decommissioned
There is currently no known canon info on what happened to Cody after the war. However, he is likely still in service as a fair number of Clones became Stormtroopers after the rise of the Empire. (This can be seen in many of the canon books)
4:27 I see Pablo playing with those little ships there that includes a Victory Star Destroyer. Is that a hint we might get to see one of those in rebels?
Gotta say, I was not expecting the Ghorman Massacre to be referenced. That's one of the things I love about this show, that it's re-canonizing all sorts of obscure references to Legends material as well as the big stuff like Thrawn.
The birth of the Rebel Alliance, awesome episode! Casual Mothma and Hera was great. And the Chopper bit for this video was especially fun. Next episode will probably get hate, but I'm ready for a smaller break.
I'm glad Scarrus got a chance to pilot the TIE Defender, and possibly live to tell the tale. The Empire is long overdue for a resident ace pilot like Scarrus, can't let Phoenix Squadron take all the glory
I wish we could see how the politics worked and what negotiations Mon Mothma worked out that failed. I loved the clone wars politics episodes but I wish we had some here.
Rebels is missing the military aspect of the Rebel Alliance (Something Rogue One had) the planetary Defense Security forces that the main Alliance Army was based on.
well the rebellion still isnt a fully functioning military yet and we probably wont see them like that in rebels until the season finale or next season. as for now the ending of this episode is most likely the closest well get to seeing the rebels as the rebel alliance
Star Wars has a major presence in various forms of media that all look to complement the feature films. One of the more prominent projects currently enjoying a great deal of success is Rebels, Disney XD’s animated series that depicts the early days of the Rebellion. Set prior to the original trilogy, the show has done a great job through three seasons fleshing out the Galactic Civil War by introducing a variety of characters and concepts to the canon. Just this year, Rebels brought fan-favorite Grand Admiral Thrawn to the fray (officially) and tackles the next chapter in the Obi-Wan Kenobi/Darth Maul rivalry. While viewers enjoy following the adventures of the Ghost crew, there have been some rumblings recently that Rebels is nearing its end. The main team has already seen one member depart (Sabine), and Lucasfilm had not yet confirmed a fourth season would be happening. Now however, any fears that the series only had a few more weeks on the air have been quelled. Rebels will be back for season 4. The Star Wars UK Twitter account made the announcement, revealing the episodes will start airing in the fall. You can check it out for yourself below: View image on Twitter View image on Twitter Star Wars UK ✔ @StarWarsUK The fight against the Empire continues in the fourth season of #StarWarsRebels. Coming to @DisneyXD this Autumn:strw.rs/60158Xu5F 2:07 PM - 3 Mar 2017 97 97 Retweets 241 241 likes Many will be pleased to hear this, especially considering the number of dangling threads in the show’s core narrative. It would be a shame if Lucasfilm could not develop these stories further, and fortunately they have at least one more year. That said, it is worth wondering how much longer Rebels can go beyond this point. The timeline of the series is inching closer and closer to the events of Rogue One, and fans are curious to see what becomes of the main players by then. Both Hera and Chopper live to see the Battle of Scarif (and the Ghost is in the space battle as well), but the fates of Jedi Kanan and Ezra remain up in the air. Sooner or later, Lucasfilm is going to have to make some tough choices, or they run the risk of retroactively creating plot holes in the classic films. But those are questions that will be answered another day. In the meantime, viewers can rest easy knowing Dave Filoni and company can continue to explore the rich dynamics and relationships that have unfolded over the previous three seasons. Rebels has really found its stride in the last couple years, striking a strong balance between the kid-friendly sensibilities of the Disney XD network and the more serious-minded themes longtime fans have come to expect from the Star Wars brand. To its benefit, Rebels hasn’t been afraid to get dark when necessary, and seeing that Scarif was the Alliance’s first real victory, things may have to go south shortly. It wouldn’t be surprising if there was some sort of tease for season 4 at Star Wars Celebration in April.
I would've liked to have seen a reference or two to Mon Mothma before this episode. I think it would've created a much grander presence to her appearance much like Fulcrum in season 1. Even though the Rebellion now has a clear leader in Mon Mothma, the division is still apparent in the various rebel cells by the time of Rogue One. Senators and admirals are continuously bickering on how to approach the Empire from peaceful surrender to fleeing in hiding to fighting. Taking out the Rebel leadership and the bulk of their forces has to be the goal of the Empire in order to scatter them and deal with them piece by piece. Seeing the TIE Defender in action was incredibly cool. Now that the Empire has heavy, long-range fighters they can have greater versatility in dealing with threats. Something that the Empire sorely needs (and that the New Order apparently lacks). The flight and fight in the nebula reminded me of Wrath of Khan especially when Gold Squadron was looking for the TIE Defender. Flying close to new stars was pretty vicious of Hera but quite creative. I wonder if there are any Neebray mantas in the area feeding off of the gas? It's a long stretch but we don't know how plentiful they are in the galaxy. Even though the Empire did appear to be on top of things in this episode, I almost wished that they brought an Interdictor along with the Star Destroyers. It probably would've faired just as well as the other two but it could be used as a precautionary measure. It was really nice to see Jon "Dutch" Vander and Gold Squadron to show up in the episode (I got to meet Angus MacInnes recently and it was a joy to hear him talk about his experience making Star Wars). They really don't have that good of a track record when it comes to fighting against advanced fighters. I really liked how they kept the ion cannons on the Y-wings as I don't recall them using that in Rogue One. If I'm not mistaken I think they used proton bombs instead. The trailer is quite interesting. It's not often we get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the Empire especially on surveillance. It is definitely under-appreciated. I think the most recent story that had this was "A New Dawn." I also like how these two Imperials are not some drones. The visor of the first one almost made me believe that until I noticed that it was clear.
I think it would be a good idea if they made an episode in which the Phantom crew gets prepared to join in on the assault of the planet Scarif from Rogue One. And since I found out that a fourth season of Star Wars: Rebels is in development, I say that this series should continue through the original trilogy.
I agree. I want to see the entire Ghost crew as they continue to help out the Rebellion establish base after base from A New Hope (Yavin 4), The Empire Strikes Back (Hoth), and Return Of The Jedi (I don't remember if there was any reference to an established base or was the Rebellion in a mobile command ship(s) at that time). Then the entire Ghost crew could go into Wild Space to Lira San taking Lasat survivors, Force sensitives, and anyone else who wants to go.
All we have to do is wait and find out I guess, even though I have heard that season 4 of Star Wars Rebels is gonna be its final season, which I don't yet understand why.
I loved this episode! So exciting to see how the knot is being tied between Rebels and the films, specifically Rogue One. Really looking forward to seeing where all the story line ends: 'do the Ghost crew make it'? Likely not, but we shall see!
Happy to have more Y-Wing action in this one! I would almost complain about the generic Y-Wing pilots instantly blowing up as easily as the much more fragile A-Wings have in earlier episodes, but since it was vs. a TIE Defender I'll let it slide ;)
THIS WOULD BE GOLD: The ghost crew are sent to gather information on a new imperial academy, Rex is part of the infiltration crew as he knows his way around military facilities and procedures. They discover that the newly appointed Commander of the academy is none other than CODY! Rex can't help but try tl turn his old friend to help the rebellion but ends up in a anakin vs obi-wan type battle, two past friends, one good the other fighting for the dark. Rex some how saves Cody from death during the fight (he falls) and has to just shoot Cody so that he is badly injured rather than killing him as the ghost crew try to escape!!!
Glad to hear Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn in this episode. She did the voice of The Major from Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex and a awesome singer of the Silent Hill songs.
Mon Mothma's ship kinda looks like the Aurora in Subnautica (or rather, the other way around). My son just found it funny and asked me to write that here...
I doubt what we saw in RO was the entire rebel fleet. it's a galaxy spanning network of rebel cells. certainly smaller than the Imperial Fleet but much larger than any assembly of ships we have seen. in ROTJ there were more ships off screen than on that were present at Endor. It seemed like the attack on Eadu was a standard operation that happened often. the GCW definitely started WAY before Scarif. This is of course how I think it went. What The great Pablo says goes.
Can someone please ask what the deal is with the Rebel Trooper? Specifically, the ones wearing the Fleet Trooper uniform and the ones wearing Battlefront-style uniform.
I can’t even believe I am saying this, but even Ezra Bridger was bearable in this episode. It felt you could actually relate to him, instead of been like an obnoxious cousin. Admiral Constantine also redeemed to my eyes after that Iron-Su****rs messy situation. Hopefully this show keeps appreciating the crucial time and maintains this rhythm in Season Four
Why are people making big deal about glasses? I thought their existence was confirmed ever since that Imperial Soldier with a Monocle showed up in the Darth Vader comic.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the stunning visuals and music in this episode, specifically during the Archeon Pass sequence?
The visuals and the episodes are getting better and better every week. Much like the clone wars.
people mistake art style for animation all the time with the show, I can understand someone not liking the art style but the animation is only getting better and better.
i have no idea how to describe the amount of chills i had while watching the episode
Daniel S man I always see u commenting on every star wars channel ur a true star wars fan like me respect
The song at the end sounded like Jurassic park haha
It's about time the imperials recognize Chopper. I mean, how long does it take to find the droids your looking for?
lol gotta admit, that was a good one... Not that that gets you off the hook, or anything...
Darth Vader its over, he has the high comment
General Kenobi you are a bold one
this is the best thread ever
Obi-Wan Kenobi some never do, they just cry in their bantha milk.
who's excited for 'Twin Suns'? I am!!!
Lego Boy Studios we all are
Lego Boy Studios
"You're in the wrong place"
Lego Boy Studios hell yeah
We just have to suffer for next week's episode and then it's Twin Suns time!!!
I AMMMM
What I wouldnt give for *all* of Rebels episodes to be 40 minutes long.
I really do like Rebels, i just feel it needs to have longer episodes for greater development etc.
an hour would be great and season finals be 2 hours :p
DavidWalker1987 I know
Ugh. Why do people keep asking for hour-long episodes? It will always be 30 minutes long. Heck, even the episodes in TCW were 30 minutes long.
I say we go back to having story arcs like in the Clone Wars.
I do not want to see 3-4 episode arcs like Clone Wars. I loved that show but often times, they could have trimmed the fat. They don't need those long episodes to get from A to B.
I love how Chopper, Ezra's VA, and Zeb's VA were just playing X-Wing using the voices of the characters.
Tell that to Kanjiklub
BUT KANJIKLUB WANTS THEIR INVESTMENT BACK
Lol idk why but I burst out laughing cos it was so random
The speech and the fleet at the end was fantastic. I have so much chills.
I just saw this episode.. The music was perfect, and the animation was awesome. Also I loved seeing the TIE Defenders and rebel fleet, Secret Cargo was really amazing! I'm so hyped for the season finale.
Seeing mon mothma again brought tears to my eyes. Well done on another great episode!
Who else yelled out "Dodanna!" when they saw Dodanna?
1993DJC I think you have it
right.
That one pilot who threw her Y-Wing in front of the Ghost... Personal sacrifice is great
The Rebel Fleet looks awesome!
Tell that to Kanjiklub
Ezra Blasi Kanjiklub wants their investment back too
Darth Vader I thought you hate anything to do with Anakin Skywalker
Billy Joyce I love how home one(ackbars cruiser) is in the background
Dalton Young There are multiple ships in the rebel fleet that are that class of cruiser, just look at Return of the Jedi
This was the Rebels episode I've been waiting for since season 1. I want Rebel Soldiers fighting Imperials, is that so hard to ask? And TIE Defenders omg so cool! So glad they are canon again.
Exonaut Productions We did see Rebel troopers fight Stormtroopers in one episode. But I want to see it more, and in larger scale battles.
SO good!!! love this show!!! that part in this week's recon with Chopper, Taylor and Steve that was HILARIOUS!!!!
A rebellion is born
King Ross I squealed when the ships all showed up xD
Darth Vader I'll try better sir
Haha, Vader! You fail so hard.
You known Vader... Lord Helmet was more competent than you. >:)
Georgie Boy 😂
After three seasons the Galactic Civil War has begun....
José Roberto Alván yes...
José Roberto Alván I believe the battle of Scarif kicked off the Galactic Civil War
The batmaster1 Exactly.
Damien do you like the ghost crew
I thought it didn't officially start until the Battle of Yavin?
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Love Rebels Recon SO Much!!! I Miss It I Wish they would keep doing this for The New Shows. I LOVE THIS SHOW SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
Double Agent Droid preview: Is this the first time we have seen someone in Star Wars wear proper glasses?
This episode had potential, but it's yet another episode of the ghost outrunning/escaping from imperial ships. Thrawn could've done something cool, we could've seen Dantooine, we could've seen more of the growing rebellion rather than just a bunch of ships at the end. Maybe next time.
TheBurgerHut7 that planet where the other ships is dantooine
TheBurgerHut7 "Thrawn could've done something cool" Ahahahha. What a child. What happened was realistic. Grow up.
TheBurgerHut7 Thrawn is preparing for the big reveal.
I expected this weeks episode to be a bit of a "filler" episode..I love it when Rebels proves me wrong.
Tony's World there are no fillers in Rebels Dave filoni has said this before
Dogsteeves Some episodes are so boring and barely connect to the overall plot that they might as well be treated as fillers, aka be skipped.
I have to disagree with you there..Some episodes have been obvious fillers.
Hahaha yes there are tons of filter in this show next week is going to be terrible sadly
Tony's World But the description of a filler states that (A filler episode can be as short as 1 episode, or as long as an entire season of the anime. These episodes were not a part of the original source content's story, and usually serve absolutely no purpose in furthering the main story)
so that means plot and character stories
name one that dosnt move the plot or character story
Who's ready for the Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul showdown? :) Can't wait!
Ah, yes. I shall finally have my revenge.
Darth Maul yeah kill that jedi slime!
Darth Maul Darth Vader we should unite and kill Kenobi Together. he is allways lucky, but he cant take all three of us together
Everyone I've bisected, set on fire, and roasted in a volcano all in one place. Come on guys, you all know I'm going to win.
I will destroy your rebel friends! And then, when it is done and your Rebellion is ashes, then you will have my permission to die.
#BringBackCommanderCody
Jezz Cody is gone he got decommissioned did you not watch the episode where they recruit it Captain Rex they stated that all the Imperial clone troopers were decommissioned
Dogsteeves no he lived on to train human troopers and is quoted in saying he hates his job
Dalton Young are you sure that is cannon?
There is currently no known canon info on what happened to Cody after the war. However, he is likely still in service as a fair number of Clones became Stormtroopers after the rise of the Empire. (This can be seen in many of the canon books)
+Huge Nerd Rex literally says in the episode when they meet him that there weren't any clones in imperial service anymore, they were decommissioned.
Nice Ahsoka shirt, Andy!
This was definitely a highlight episode of the series for me. Thanks for all your hard work!
When Mon Mothma was done with her message & when the rebel ships start coming in I was so excited !!!
whole episode I'm just like: let's go Gold Leader, activate your eternal mangkekyo sharingan already!
cwopre no.
I'm glad Scarrus got a chance to pilot the TIE Defender, and possibly live to tell the tale. The Empire is long overdue for a resident ace pilot like Scarrus, can't let Phoenix Squadron take all the glory
The nebula was an awesome reference to the clone wars!
Camped out in the toilets at work to watch this. Was worth it.
After Double Agent Droid is Twin Suns with Obi Wan vs Maul!
I wish we could see how the politics worked and what negotiations Mon Mothma worked out that failed. I loved the clone wars politics episodes but I wish we had some here.
Am I crazy or… is that bearded imperial agent voiced by Pablo Hidalgo??
EricTheKartoonKing someone else thought about that, and he looks like him... Look up the cast
I loved the ending with all the ships
This series should be called "Toy Soldiers". Ghost crew each week go to adventures to meet with your favorite action figures.
Finally this show is becoming watchable.
Hold on... Was that Josh Gad's voice as the Lobot style Imperial?! Did Daisy Ridley send him over to Rebels so he'd stop asking her Ep. 8 questions?
When i heard the title of next weeks episode i started to chant "K-2SO!!" But when the preview showed chopper i was disappointed. :(
Nice touch using Fantasy Flight Games' X-Wing Minatures Game during this weeks Chopper Cam
Chopper, Taylor, and Steve playing tricks on the crew XDDDD
Rebels is missing the military aspect of the Rebel Alliance (Something Rogue One had) the planetary Defense Security forces that the main Alliance Army was based on.
well the rebellion still isnt a fully functioning military yet and we probably wont see them like that in rebels until the season finale or next season. as for now the ending of this episode is most likely the closest well get to seeing the rebels as the rebel alliance
Andi has the greatest Star Wars shirts! Loved the jacket, too. Gotta go buy some merch!
That clip tho ! Those two were like enhanced mad man scientists !!!

My reaction to the new episode clip, at the end:
The first SW character with glasses.....impressive, most impressive.
#LobotWithShades
Is that operator in next weeks clip voiced by Pablo Hidalgo 😂
Sam Green Josh Gad
Hey Ezra and Zeb's voice actors were playing Xwing at the end there! :D
5:14 Hey! Vsauce! Michael here
Hey! Rebels! The Empire here
The chopper cam!!! I'm dying!!!! 🤣😂🤣
3:34 Its awesome you can see the ghost in Rogue One
The Plot armor is strong with this one.
This had one of the best Chopper Cams. It was really funny.
I love how everyone seems to be playing with the X-Wing and Star Wars Armada miniatures.
whaaa?? that guy that recognizes chopper must be the first star wars character ever to wear glasses :o
I would've liked to have seen a reference or two to Mon Mothma before this episode. I think it would've created a much grander presence to her appearance much like Fulcrum in season 1. Cool to see Jon Dutch Vander again^^
I wonder why the Gold Squadron Y-Wings didn't use their ion cannons turrets on Darth Vader and his TIE escort during the Battle of Yavin.

I got Wrath of Khan flashbacks from this episode.
Loved Dutch's inclusion. Gold Leader has always been a favorite character of mine.
Really liked the Steve and Taylor sequence.
i like that we see how the Alliance to Restore the Republic is forming... oh the next episode, he's look like Lobot with Beard
4:10 Giant Zeb fighter coming to X-Wing Wave 6?
This episode was way more action-packed than I thought it would be! I thought it would be boring!
there are victory star destroyers and gladiator-class ship models on the desk, does that mean anything?
Great episode of Star Wars Rebels one of the best of Season 3 so far !!!
I LOVE STAR WARS!!!👍😀

Cool to see the TIE Defenders back in canon.
Glad to hear Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn in this episode. She did the voice of The Major from Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex and a awesome singer of the Silent Hill songs.
So the rebellion was formed from the bridge of the ghost?
One of these weeks, when Andi goes to ask Pablo a question, I hope we see him drawing a Transformer.
Mon Mothma's ship kinda looks like the Aurora in Subnautica (or rather, the other way around). My son just found it funny and asked me to write that here...

what if Ezra was that Y-wing pilot that survived the battle of Yavin.
Rayman good theory
Dais channel thanks
Rayman No, thats the blonde woman pilot that appears in the Princess Leia comics
Is this the Gold Squadron that Evaan Vermaine happens to lead?
Next week we get to see VSauce cosplaying as Lobot
love this show!!!! favorite show on youtube
what i like about the tie defender is that it can destroy turrets in star wars commander.
I hope They have Admiral Ackbar and Admiral Raddus on the show.
Are Chimeras not the Dragon/Dragon hybrids, like a griffon? And what is on Thrawns Chimera looks more like a Hydra. ^^
I hope at some point in an episode there are x wings since we have gotten all the other ships now
Ryley 18 probably next season season, hopefully u wings make an appearence
So, there ARE GLASSES in STAR WARS!!! Whoo! I was wondering that for so long!
Playing X-wing. Awesome. Can't wait to show the guys at the store on game night.
Can someone please ask what the deal is with the Rebel Trooper? Specifically, the ones wearing the Fleet Trooper uniform and the ones wearing Battlefront-style uniform.
Did we actually see the Home 1 at the end of the episode? There was a cigar-shaped Mon Calamari cruiser.
Mon Mothma rallying the rebels reminded me of King Alfred the Great rallying the people of England at Edington in the Last Kingdom
Why are people making big deal about glasses? I thought their existence was confirmed ever since that Imperial Soldier with a Monocle showed up in the Darth Vader comic.
This was amazing

Anyone notice that on the empire news channel. It was an English E, not an Aurabesh E?
