I just stick to self imposed transfer restrictions. By age or weirdly specific attribute requirements or geography. Many ways. Another tactical one is to not sign quick players. Acceleration and Pace are overpowered in game, it is decidedly harder to get things done with less quick players.

Unfortunately the Sunday league footballer and coaching badges is one of those things I wish they had in console but they don’t. To be fair when I played PC I always played this setting and I wished it actually made saves harder but it’s not as impactful as I would have liked

I like to try similar ideas to Bilbao.
Celtic with a Scot’s only team.
Spurs with just players born in Greater London etc.
Try without licenses and amateur background.
