My favourite part is the duality/evolution of the final line of each verse.
The incompetence of certain leaders is funny to some at first, laughing at the idiocy they come out with.
But then things get dangerous, and suddenly it’s not a joke anymore. People are no longer saying “what did he say?” in an amused way… now it’s more like a horrified “WTF just came out of your mouth?” reaction.
SUCH a powerful switch up of implied tone that gives me chills every time I listen to this song.

Iridescent and Castle Of Glass are two more songs that Mike starts out on. His voice is very comforting but my favorite songs are when Mike and Chester harmonize. The acoustic version of Final Masquerade is awesome!!

@@snowflake3397personally I think the Osaka version is better with Chester belting out the Amen, have you heard it? It’s beautiful.

@@tssb7 Yeah, I've heard the Osaka version, goosebumps. So, both versions are wonderful. Either Chester is the 'choir' or with a choir.

This is a very emotional song! And the fact that he talks about the things in the Middle East is just jaring and even more pissed off. It makes you think of the people there and all the stuff happening!

This song is about Iraq. when this song came out (2007) my little brother was in Iraq in a pretty bad city, This song hits hard when youve had family/friends in war not come home... Thankfully my brother came home, but I lost friends. Every time i hear this song it brings back soo many memories! manly funerals and crying families. still one of my favorite LP songs. My heart goes out to all the Blue Star families out there and especially all the Gold Star families & mothers... (Thank you for this)

I've been SO looking forward to seeing you react to this one. While maybe not among their best songs, I think it comes as a welcome dose of Mike Shinoda on this album, and surprises you with Mike singing. While Mike's voice doesn't have the same "wow" that Chester's does, it's still a really, really pleasant voice, very soothing and soft, and I think it suits the song so well. I'm glad the band decided to go with whichever vocalist they felt suited the song best, rather than sticking strickly to one singing and one rapping. They'll do this more, and it's a welcome change.
I think Hands Held High has some gut punching lines, and having seen it performed live, I can say that Mike could really make you feel a sort of inspirational, righteous anger. When Mike performed this at my first Linkin Park concert where my dad attended with me, my dad was really taken with that moment during the concert!

You should listen to the bonus tracks at the end of this album when you get there. Most people do not listen to the bonus tracks but they are so good

Mike has multiple albums since Chester passed. He sings a lot.

This is the first album where Mike actually sings lead vocals outside of rapping... And he continues to sing a lot in the rest of their albums... when he harmonizes with Chester it sounds amazing too... almost as good as Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains.

Mike does eventually sing some songs. I he eventually sings some songs in the Chester Bennington Tribute Concert, which is honestly worth a reaction

No Roads Left is a B-side from the album. And there Mike sings... They had both Chester and Mike sing it, and Chester was like "Yours is waay better, you do it"
He had apparently been practicing a while before that
