That was a fun tag! A new release I am still waiting for is I'll Be Home for Mischief. I think I am number 5 on my library's hold list. Three books I want to read before the end of the year are: On Borrowed Time by Jenn McKinlay, Saddled with Murder by Eileen Brady and Mrs. Pollifax Unveiled. I really enjoyed Sniffing out Murder as well. Another new series from this year that I enjoyed was the California Bookshop series by Samara Yew. I am starting to think about my reading plans for 2025. As a mood reader, I have learned not to make too many plans, but I loooove to make plans 😊. Looking forward to hearing what your plans are for 2025!
I loved Sniffing Out Murder! It was funny and adorable in parts. The romance even got me interested. The sheriff’s daughter was great. I would have liked to see a more realistic portrayal of her friend, but that is a small complaint. I will definitely be getting the second one.
I have a huge Agatha Christie collection of books on my shelves. I went on a buying spree a couple winter's ago and picked up like 20 of her titles. 😆 I did read Murder On The Orient Express in winter (think it was January and it was snowing) and it definitely added to the atmosphere of the story. I remember there being some eerie and ominous scenes in the book. One took place at night in the hallway of the train. That's all I will say, but it gave me chills. Hope you enjoy it! I might be the only one to have never read Freida McFadden. I see so many have read her books, but I have no desire to read them for some reason?🤷♀ Oh no! So sad to hear there will be no more in the Mountain Lodge series by Diane Kelly. "Snow Place For Murder" is on my December TBR pile. Guess I will savor it since it will be the last. I have "Sleep In Heavenly Pizza" on my TBR for December as well. I remembered you talking about that series in another video, so I picked it up from my library. I am currently reading "Gingerdead Man" by Maya Corrigan. I really should read a lot of these cozies in order, but the holiday ones I want to read now, not wait until I get the rest of the series completed. I will hopefully go back if I enjoy the holiday books and try to start at book one. Btw, I finished Baking Spirits Bright and loved it! I will definitely be continuing on with that series. Thanks for sharing!❤💚
I've been reading a lot of Amanda flowers Amish candy shop series, and Alex Erickson bookstore cafe series lately (: I'll start the Christmas tree farm books this month for Christmas 😁
Loved this video, thank you! I put a few of these authors on my holds from the library, notably Ginger Bolton and Mindy Quigly, along with a few series you mentioned. I just want to read all winter! I hit my 100 books reading goal so now I don't feel pressured, lol. Part of me wants to make it to 120, which will be the most I've ever read in a year. In fact, since I've been tracking on Goodreads, I think I've hit my record and it isn't even December! I've read 103 so far. I love putting on a fireplace ambience, turn off the light and turn on my book light and read in bed during this time of the year. 4 pm hits, and I'm in my jammies and cuddled up in bed, reading, lol. (Can you tell I've been around kids all my life? I still call pajamas jammies even though I stopped babysitting and nannying a year ago, lol.)
As for cozies, I read Pushing Up Daisies and loved it. My favorite recent book is Apples Never Fall. I have a shelf called “Amy Marie Recs” so I put The Second Chance Library and Mrs Quinn on my want to read stack in Goodreads. I had totally forgotten about Lisa Unger so I may try her again. Happy Thanksgiving.
Love these questions (and your responses)! Fave reads for me: Adrift by Brideau and It Had To Be You by Brazier (spice warning on that one). Disappointment: I finally read This is How You Lose the Time War and I think it was too built up with hype for me, I thought it was just okay and I was expecting to be blown away.
My favorite book this year was Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent. My favorite series this year was the DI Adam Fawley series by Cara Hunter. My favorite cozy mystery this year was The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood. My most disappointing read of the year was Home is where the Bodies are by Jeneva Rose. I’m currently working my way through The Stand by Stephen King which will easily be a 5 star read. I’m most looking forward to reading Grady Hendrix’s newest novel Witchcraft for Wayward Girls in 2025! Great video and lots of books added to my tbr!
Im reading the "Three Dahlias" series at the moment and ive just treated myself to the christmas one. There are some beautiful covers in cosy mysteries this year.
I need to read 10 more to reach 100! And I’m trying to complete the prompts on some challenges. I bought the pizza series because of your recommendation . The latest one is a Christmas book so I would like to read all of them
Great job reading over 200 books! Those non-fiction books look interesting. I look forward to hearing your thoughts when you finish them. I just want to read 4 new releases before the end of the year - Murder at the Lemonberry Tea by Far I Hannah (currently reading), The Witch Is Back by Angela M Sanders, You Feta Watch Out by Linda Reilly, and A Killer Hold by Leah Dobrinska. After that I'm just mood reading, watching Christmas movies, and relaxing. My favorite new author this year is Sarah Fox. I've read all of her cozy mystery books except 3 in a music cozy series on her backlist. I hope you enjoy all of the books you read the rest of the year! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!! 🦃🍰☕💛
@@bookswithamymarie I just saw that there is a book 4 of the Shake Shop series by Dana Mentink. It's called Thrown For A Scoop and comes out on 12/1/2024. It looks like it will just be a Kindle book. I know that you enjoyed this series too so I wanted to let you know!
I discovered Haunting Danielle series this year. And I really enjoy it. Ratings on goodeads are very high. I’m suprised nobody taking about it. I am obsessed with Ashley Weaver’s historical cozy mystery’s recently. she has 2 series so far. 11 books in total. I gave every single one 5stars 😂.
What are your end of year reading plans? 💙
200 books!!! Amazing. I love the video ❤

I just read a short story collection by Agatha Christie, the Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories
My friend told me to try Mary Higgins Clark . I believe She is a mystery writer . it is on my list . 2 friends like her.

I've never heard of that series before! Thank you for sharing. The Haunted Danielle series looks really good 💜
Would you consider yourself a speed reader?? Have you had training in speed reading?? 200 books is impressive.
