Thanks for the build, my current camp is a log cabin but it’s not that good. I just started playing a few months again so still learning the game and collecting building plans. I’ll have to use this for inspiration on now to improve my build.
Great build. I especially like the crafting area. The log cabin set continues to be my favorite. I'm working on a build right now a little south on that same road. I like that area. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! The long cabin is a good fit for the forest in particular. I like the spot too for its aesthetic. It does have the drawback of being miles form anywhere though! 😂

Great Cabin, It really looks and feels very homey. Looking at it I would pay a great deal of money to have that built in real life in the same forest setting maybe along a biking and or hiking trail.
I've started using the string lights almost exclusively due to the warm light. The only exception is in my weapon workshop where I uses track lighting for my weapon displays

Great guide! I was unable to build stuff in the worksop room without removing the roof, after placing all the stuff I can't place the roof. I ended up keeping it open lol.
I often take the roof off in rooms like that. If you can't get it back on I'd try using the flamethrower trap to break the furniture. That should let you place it again, then you can repair everything.
Great video. I'm building a similar storage room with all the crafting stuff but I can't for the life of me make the roof go in with that chemistry station. Do you still remember how you got around it? I've tried applying the roof before & after I put it down but it never locks in place
I'm not sure how I did it at the time tbh. If I was doing it now though, I'd try putting the chem station in without the roof, then destroying it with a flamethrower trap. That should hopefully let you get around the issue. You can repair the bench once the roof is back on.

If you have a conduit near by, (the ones wires attach to I mean 🙃), and it's still not lighting up it could be because you placed the light before the power. If you move the light a little it should activate. You can move it back afterwards. It's also possible it's been turned off but I'm guessing that's not it. ☺️
I'd try making sure you're using a door rather than another wall piece. If that doesn't work you might have to remove some other walls first or try breaking them with the flamethrower trap.
The log cabin set is in one of the bundles on the atomic shop right now. I'm not sure if the porches are in there but it might be worth investigating. You might have to dig a bit though as I don't think it's obvious that the set is there.
They do snap together. If there were sections floating where the ground is uneven I may have worked around that but I think mostly I just snapped it here.
Fantastic work, it looks terrific. Too bad Bethesda messed up, my opinion, the log cabin door. I think it should have been logs across the door instead of the ends of logs as they have it. Quick question: did you think about using the Western Wagon instead of the Free States truck ends?
That log door is pretty odd. My guess is that there are doors made from planks in the game already which is why they went the way they did. Still, I don't see myself ever using that door. I don't have that wagon unfortunately otherwise I might have used it. If it reappears again at some point I'll definitely be picking it up though.

If you want to remove the staircase without taking down walls, you can attach an upper floor piece to it then add a single staircase to that floor piece then you can delete the bigger stairs.
The materials are pretty easy to come by. Wood you can find all over the place, and other resources can be gathered by breaking down junk items scattered throughout the world. You can also buy it in bulk from robot vendors if you have the caps. In terms of the building pieces and the decoration objects it's not level dependent, you just need the plans. Those come from a bunch of different places: the log cabin set comes up on the Atomic Shop as do a number of other items. Some are from previous seasons, so they might come up on the Atomic Shop occasionally, or they may be available from bullion vendors if you've finished the Wastelanders story lines. A lot of the plans though can be found in game in a number of different ways. I've got a video up on the channel covering the best ways to get plans. In short materials are not to bad to come by if you're picking things up and scrapping them at workbenches, and nothing is level locked. Getting the plans together can take a long time though as there are huge numbers out there to find.
Sylvie and sons logging camp Google it to find where it is, there's like 30 wood piles there and you'll get plenty of wood, then just respawn there as needed
Within 24hrs someone I encountered had recreated this one in the same place. I found out when my own camp couldn't be placed! 🤣 Pretty awesome to see though!
There's a few cool spots hidden away. It can be hard to find somewhere different that's also good to build though. Smaller builds are the way to go on that imo. You need less flat ground that way.
@@DarthXionGames I used to be of that mindset too but I now take it as a challenge to incorporate the elevation changes in. One theme I've used is having a deck down closer to the ground so it hides that some of the house is floating lol

Yeah, to see it in game you'd have to land on the same world. Pot luck on that I'm afraid. It's more likely to happen if you're in Europe as there's a certain amount of regional matchmaking but otherwise. 🤞
It's a fairly open spot by the road, with a gap between the trees... The camp unit was far enough back to only include a small part of the road I think. There's also a fence by the water iirc that you can't remove, so I'd try to build in front of that.
Carefully and with patience I think. I'm not sure, but I think this build may have been from before changes were made to how close they can be placed too. You should be able to get things set up fairly neatly though, especially if you play around with the rotation.

The long cabin ones were a season reward that were added quite a bit later. They do pop up again occasionally though. Tbh other than those there's not a lot that match so I'd probably embrace the contrast in the absence of a better option.

@@brawler5760 No worries! There's a Conduit that is designed to pass through walls. I set that up outside, near the generator then just ran around and wired it up.
I can't recall the name. It does mention something about it being a pass through thing in the name. It's a tall vertical thing, kind of 'C' shaped with a bit sticking off the back...

I've done that before on occasion. In this case though, it's just a couple of walls so it's not to bad. Just kinda annoying that it's a thing at all.

No. The game saves your build. You can start over elsewhere should you want to but that's up to you.
I'm new playing fallout but I do wish they bring back the cabin

Sadly that wouldn't work I'm afraid. Other players can only use the stuff you own when building at your camp.
