Great scrappy build. I like the design of this one too. Having the 2nd floor as an outside entrance was a good idea. It adds to the design. The decorations were great too, as always. The junky, lore friendly builds have become my favorite. Fantastic job with this one.
Just wanted to say thanks for this! I grabbed the new destroyed camp bundle and used a lot of techniques with the short wall mixing from this video. I made it even a little more "scrappy" looking by covering a lot of the holes in the new walls with flags, pictures, and different wood/metal wall signs to make it look patched up. Worked like a charm, and thanks again for the inspiration!

@wolfrexo9966 I guess that must have been added on the latest update. I've a hunch it's going to be a quest location, when I get that far. The camp spot should still be available though, it's actually further up the cliff, due North of Sully's Shack. If you head a bit further west there's a path that zigzags up the cliff.
Nice build. I agree with you about the lights. The gaslight and cage bulb are probably the best in the game. The blue icicle lights are the other lights that I use the most.

Been playing State of Decay 2 ALL WEEK and I have the idea of a bridge fort in my head. Would love to see a version from you. Now all I need to do is find the perfect bridge. 🤔
Love this- that wasteland scrappy junk style is awesome. That off set upper floor with the half floor really makes this for me, nice touch. Love that you’ve discovered the pressure plate merge too 😁
I've started building a modern-inspired house on this location because I wanted a wall of windows out on that view. It's a work in process and not nearly as nice and decorated as yours, but I got the inspiration from your 10 places to build video and your greenhouse video, as well as a few other builders who share on RUclips.
I don’t know if you’ve always used that music or if I just noticed it now but at the start where you’re showing us where you are going build? Lmfao I love it! It’s that kinda “who lives in a house like this”/“escape to the country” vibes haha
I use a bunch of different tracks but this is one of the more common ones. I try to match the vibe of the music to the style of the build, but for the moment my selection is a bit limited so it's sometimes more successful than others!

Way more straight forward than my attempt at a junky wasteland house, which involved double walling everything, including half walls & then destroying the out walls to have the inner peak through. Plus putting the windmill IN the house lol I wish I'd seen this before hand.
if you wanted a Decon arch you could put walls at the back to make that overhang at the back supported and hide the Fusion generator in the dead space, just threading some conduits through the wall. no one would be able to see it and behind those stairs would fit the arch nicely. i really like the 2 and a half floor size one way with 2 blocks of roof like that. definitely stealing that.
I did think about putting a generator there. I'm not sure I'd want to hide it though as that would make the shape of the building a bit less interesting. I might do something with that though. We'll see how I get on.
@@DarthXionGames my last build was my Enclave base and I made the interior more interesting by making cut ins that hid generators on several walls. Since light goes through walls I put a light behind the walls with the generators and it made a sort if ambient lighting with the coloured light bulbs. You do have to sort of baracade the ends but it's easy enough with the red rocket bar set.
Hidden lighting is an interesting idea. 🤔 I think it would probably work in a high tech style camp like yours better than a homestead style like this but it's an idea I'll have to try out sometime.
I've always tried to make my scarppy/ scav camp look as realistic as possible. I try to limit what I use to things that could be carried by my vaultie. It often leads to a ramshackle camp that looks like a native asset, but often requires the crafting tables to be hidden away in the shelter. It helps my RP my vaultie just trying to survive in a world gone weird.
I do enjoy the head cannon there. Still if you wanted to expand your options there you'd just need a Brahmin. I'd imagine they'd be able to pull a fair bit for you. Especially if you had a trailer or cart. 😎
@@DarthXionGames I do head cannon that when she finds some good stuff she hooks up a home made trailer (back of a car from the atom shop) to her power armour and stomps off on a salvage run. The car end sits behind the shack loaded up with stash boxes to show this
If you're having an issue with items jumping up to upper floors just blueprint the item you want to place by itself and place it from the blueprint. It won't jump up.
@@DarthXionGames most definitely I'm saving up to get the Shanty shed gonna make that my little home I also have the pre fab train car for resources for anyone who visits my camp and power armor station handy it will be nice almost finished 😄
I keep a few different junk items in my stashbox for putting on display cases. Once you've built the case you just have to drop out of the build menu and activate the case to assign items from your stashbox.
Me, personally... I hate mixing sets unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. I built a Vault-Tec themed Smart house aith all Vault-Tec concrete walls bit since I didn't want to live in a caucasian brick, I put grehouse half walls and roofs over tge two balconies. I also and currently building an actual greenhouse next door to it that is also Vault-Tec themed. I used both grehouse sets, tge metal looking one for the enclosed balconies and tge brick looking one for the actual greenhouse. I used SO MUCH concrete that I'm completely out

I did a bridge build a while back at that spot in the Mire that's so popular. It was more of a bunker than an fort though.

I've done a few things that were similar to that on occasion. You can do some pretty cool stuff by just dressing up basic structure though.

Great camp. How did you get the junk items (such bad the electric fan and microscope) on display?
