It’s nice to see an instructional video that doesn’t include unnecessary rambling.
Thanks, it is appreciated!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Step by step, watch, pause, work, pause, work, pause, work. Saved me time and money love the video thanks alot. Its spot on
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Did this yesterday with the help of your video! Thanks man your help made this easy peasy lol, I saved a lot of money doing it myself, and I learned to be a little bit more independent. Much appreciated!! 👊🏽
Awesome! Great stuff! Make sure you spread my vids to all of your Tacoma Friends! 💪💪💪
KFlo's Tacoma Build will do!
I like the slow and thorough descriptions, proper video angle and lighting. All of the little reminders like removing fluid cap and anti seize compound. It is Great!! Thank you!
I'm glad that it worked out for you! please share my vids with your tacoma friends to help my channel grow!
Don't forget to pump the brake pedal before driving the vehicle. This brings the caliper pistons back into their proper positions. If you don't do this you won't have any brakes!
I watched 4 other videos on brake and rotor replacements on Toyota tacomas before watching yours. You have the most complete description with visuals so far. Nice job.
Thanks 👍
Perfect pacing with your step by step. Calm cool and collected delivery. Shots were great too. No rambling all info. Thanks so much. Nice job!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Great view of how to install the anti rattle clips. I can never remember how to do that!
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Best video I have watched on Tacoma rotors and brakes change out - thanks bro....... I have 2 Tacomas - Obviously, I subscribed.......
Awesome! Glad you like it and thank you for supporting the channel!
Good concise video. I might add to pay attention to the markings on the new rotors for Left side and Right side.
Thanks for this vid! Just did my pads and rotors. I like the screwdriver trick to keep the front wheels from spinning
Great vid and no unnecessary "story telling".
Made the pad and rotor job on my 2008 Taco a breeze.
My dude awesome video I feel more comfortable doing it on my own now by watching your videos man... I was tired of always over paying and now I can do it my self by following your video... thanks for putting these videos out bro 😎🙏🤘🏽🤘🏽
No prob dude! Enjoy! Do me a favor though and share these vids with your tacoma friends!
Just did mine today! Fantastic video, my new brakes work wonders! Went with the the stop tech cryo rotors, and TRD brake pads for my 2010.
Glad it helped!
Great concise video. Even a 70 year old can do it!
Awesome! You'll love my newer videos. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
One of the best videos I've watched. Well done. Very informative...
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Exactly the video I needed. Thanks for posting!
Perfect video! Y'all, this is to the point and easy to follow!
Additionally, it's a good looking truck too! Cheers
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Fellow NJ Tacoma owner! Thanks for the video!
Awesome! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Awesome thank you! Best video by far. I'll get this done this weekend
Awesome! thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Excellent video!! Wish I had a second Gen because this would have been perfect
KFlo you’re awesome!
Thanks bro! I hope you hit that subscribe button! that will really help me out!
Thanks for the video it will come in handy when I do mine real soon
great video! 3:43 humbly emphasize to clean ALL rust from mating surfaces of the rotor - whether installing a new or reinstall of old rotor. Slight amount of rust will create a condition of braking "wobble" at highway speeds that only seems like it's a warped rotor. Found this the hard way after having right front rotor turned a few times - then installed new rotor only to have problem re-surface. I used my angle die grinder with scotchbrite pads, then small fine sandpaper for area hard to reach lug bolts. Solved a great mystery and now 30k miles later perfect brake performance... surfaces need to be perfectly clean like surgical steel. also coat those surfaces lightly with anti-seize and minimal prep next time .
Good point!
Now you got me to wondering if i cleaned mine good enough with a wire brush and aerosol brake cleaner 🤔
Thanks so much !!!! saving us tons of money!!!!!!
I'm glad you like my vids! please share my channel with your Tacoma Friends!
Thanks! This was very helpful!
Great Video! thank-you!
Very thorough video👍
Glad you think so!
Awesome info nice runner
Awesome! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Thank you, K flow great video. I got the same rotor & pads. The only problem was that the dealer crossed threaded the abs bracket on the passenger side for a new frame replacement. I thought it was loose so I removed it & bolt snapped clean off!
That sucks! You can try to re-chase the threads with a tap after extracting any bolts leftover (if there are any)
Great video... always
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🤙
Thanks nice job.
Nice job man! Quick, detailed and accurate. If you ever do your front shocks, let me know. I've seen several ways people do it. Always seems to be an issue with lower shock clearance.

Front shock
Hi Ben, as SCTundra11 pointed out, I already do have a front shock vid. check it out!
ruclips.net/video/eiRAWIKURRI/видео.html
I wish my job went this easily. Everything was rusted and seized, even the caliper pins. It took me hours to get one side done.
That's rough bro. I would recommend spraying all these parts with PB blaster the night before and letting it all soak. Worst comes to worse, you can always torch these things - that will definitely help break these loose.
@@KFloTacoma I ended up just replacing the calipers. I read that some people grease those pins each time they rotate tires. I guess that's what I'll try since I live in the snow and road salt mountains of Pennsylvania.
Thanks for the shout out man. Great vid.
Can you do a video on all the tools and brands you recommend for home DIY.
That's a great idea and i can certainly do one! I'll add it to the list. Also, I do have a list of recommended tools in my amazon page if you're interested. Amazon.com/shop/kflostacomabuild
Doing this your self saves a LOT of $$$. Toyota dealer wants $550.00 to do this work..LOL!!!! I got the entire front Detroit Axel rotor kit and ceramic pads for $110.00 and it took like maybe an HR to do the whole thing.
Hey man, have you had any issues come up with running wheels spacers? Ive wanted to get some but a lot of people say you'll develop bearing problems
Thanks for the video. I have a 2008 Taco 6 cylinder 4x4 and 2002 Taco TWD in my household. Can you recommend a "disk lateral run out gauge and disk thickness gauge?" Can we get a video on hub cleanliness and run out for us folks that deal with snow and road salt. Thank you.
The disk thickness gauge is just a regular caliper and a lateral run out can be achieved with a flatness gauge block with some feeler gauges. I'll add that video to the list, thank you for the suggestions.
Thanks a ton for making these vids! I've been linking some of your videos on Tacomaworld for people looking for tutorials! Quick question: how necessary is a brake bleed after this? What happens when the brake fluid reservoir is above the max line? Would the brake fluid just go back and fill the brake pistons that were compressed?
Thanks for sharing my content brother! I appreciate that. To answer your questions: brake bleeding just works out well in terms of timing since all the bleeders valves are already exposed when doing this. Although, It's not really a necessity if you've done it right before hand - you're not breaking open the system so it should be ok. Brake bleeding should be done if the brakes feel squishy, fluid looks really dirty, or if you're in a high humidity climate since brake fluid does absorb water over time (I bleed mine every 2 years). If theres too much brake fluid in the reservoir after you're done you can address that in one of two ways: use a turkey baster to suck out the excess from the reservoir or bleed out the brake fluid at any of the calipers until the fluid is down to proper levels.
I have a 2002 Tacoma 4 cyl 2.7 4x4. What brake and rotor kit would you recommend?? Really need some help here. Wheels are 6 lug
how are the brakes holding up? i'm interested in an upgrade! thanks for the vids!
They're holding up well. Drove from NJ to VA to SC and back to NJ. They're definitely solid brakes!
got a video for the rear drums?
Nice! How about replacing exhaust manifold?
I'll add that to the list!
Great
Thanks dude
Great vid!!! What size of jack stands?
I believe these are 6 ton
I guess I know what I’m doing this afternoon.
Re-watching this video LOL
@@KFloTacoma 😁
Good luck with the brake job and thanks for the watching and supporting the channel!
@@KFloTacoma thanks
I watched your video again because those Power Stop K137 with rotors have already finished at 43,000 miles. My 09 Taco with 203,000 miles garage kept getting a lot of rust on the calipers on the inside. Also uneven wear not sure maybe the caliper is sticking.
Sounds like your caliper is doing just that. The piston seals may be seized and will need a rebuild. Brake dust does rust, even indoors or not. I still am using the powerstops even with my 35" tires and camper - still going strong. I did replace my front calipers though
@@KFloTacoma Thanks Bro appreciate ordering the K137 the complete set with calipers.
I nkow it not related to this video but what your opinion on 1" or 2" wheels spaces like pro and cons of you have it... and good video.. I'm have look up again when I change my rotory myself..
It's all based on personal preference. Pro: If you want to keep the stock wheels but put larger and wider tires, you do need a 1.25" wheel spacer. Con: If you are doing very hard core rock crawling, then it can be another thing that can break.
@@KFloTacoma oh.. thank you..
Great job! How are those brake rotors working out for you? Would you buy a different pair? What about pads?
They're working very well so far. Compared to oem they have a bit more bite. I'm happy with the purchase so far especially with its performance for it price. Pads have very little dust output and rotors still look very good.
Jon Gaspar I put the same ones on my truck pulled them off went back to stock. I didn’t like the vibrating/ noise that came on after a couple thousand miles
Great vid, do you have to bleed brakes when done? Or just add some fluid to container and it should be good?
Usually new brake pads mean that the fluid will be higher since the pistons will be pushed in more. Bleeding the brakes is really up to you. I only bleed brakes if the fluid gets too dirty or the brakes feel squishy
What year is this? I'm assuming this applies to '05 2nd gen Tacoma as well right?
mine is an '09. it's a second gen so it should be the same as yours in terms of procedures
Can you use anti-seize on the wheel studs?
Yes definitely, just make sure to torque the lugs properly afterwards
Hey, how did these pads/rotors hold up? My fronts are starting to get a bit thin
Still rock solid. I'm still using it on my 35s
@@KFloTacoma hell yeah, I'd better get some then.
something special about these rotors and brakes or are they regular stock?
They perform better than stock
do you have wheel bearing video?
Not yet but I'll add that to the list of potential vids
Can you do this to my tacoma .?????😁
How did the new rotors with the holes in them work out for you? I heard of some people having issues with those....
No issues at all. You can watch some of my VLOGs and you'll see how well it still performs. ruclips.net/video/tpQqBFNwpPM/видео.html (this one hasn't been released yet ;)
@@KFloTacoma nice truck! I have a 2010 4Runner and it feels like the front rotors are warped. Looking to upgrade rotors and pads, do you have any suggestions as far as brand, etc? Thanks for taking the time to answer.
I would say power stops are the best bang for your buck. Use the link in the description, I believe it may be compatible with yours just use the amazon compatibility checker to make sure
@@KFloTacoma Thanks!
Awesome video. It must have taken some serious time to put it together. Anyway, when I click on the link you included beneath the video (it's supposed to take me to the products you use/sell), a file is downloaded to my computer: kflostacomabuild.dms. Any chance you can post the link so I can buy the brakes and rotors you use/sell/recommend?
Hey David, it looks like RUclips had your comment filtered under "Spam" and i never got around to replying to this. To answer your questions, all of my recommendation for products are under my amazon storefront: amazon.com/shop/kflostacomabuild
I hope this helps! Good luck!
Are there no floating caliper pins?
None, the only pins are the ones i replace in the video
Rotors are spinning and can’t get my spacer nuts off . Help lol
Lol have a friend hold the brake pedal or put a screw driver into the rotor and pin it agains the caliper (watch this video again lol) Or use a jackstand on a stud. (See my ecgs video)
What name brand are those rotors?
Power stops - the links are in the description
What side pacers you have there?
I have 1.25" spacers. You can buy them at amzn.to/2M4VqOx
Also, watch my spacers installation video:

I believe one can be happier with less except when you are talking about toilet paper or something like that
replace coolant by pass pipe what a project toyota screwed up there
