I like the burlap. My dad had his own upholstery shop for years. I probably would've attached the burlap to a board and then attached the board to the back of the door. That will prevent the burlap from sagging in the future, which it may do if ever bumped and touched. I suspect they will want to go over it with a vacuum attachment to keep the dust off of it.
I didn't see what the back of the doors looked like, but yes the burlap should have been supported and the back should look more finished.
i would have also like to see the interior after completion
Nice makeover. Love the top!
Like the choices except for the lack of backing to stabilize the fabric. Agree that it will sag in a short time tho it is good design.
Amazing difference! It looks so fresh and new; love it. Your ‘hired hand’ did a great job.
Kay Henry Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
It's pretty.
I don't care for burlap.
It seems like it's become popular, but it just seems like a dustcatcher to me.
I'd have preferred glass or a solid panel.
👏👏👏👏👏👏 very nice
Thank you very much! Hope you have a great weekend Jay!
Can I just say....Holy Crud?!?! AMAZING, as usual! 😮🎉❤
Thank you! 😊
Nice modern transformation! I would like to have seen what you did to the edges of burlap after stapling to the doors.
I was also curious about that!
How did you finish off the edges of the burlap inside the doors? The cabinet looks awesome!
Love how you chopped off those dated curves on the door and base- makes a big difference!

I really love this piece, all the colours go well together. Thank you for sharing, stay safe.
Thank you! You too!
Excellent!❤️🙏🏾👍🏿😄
Thank you!
The best one yet! Just stunning 🤩!
I'm enjoying and learning quite a bit. Thank you.
Glad to hear it!
Love that wood grain on the top!
Thank you so much friend! Appreciate the watch!
It turned out gorgeous wow, love the grey colour and the top is so beautiful well done
Thanks so much 😊
Another gorgeous transformation!! ❤
I like the transition
Thank you so much! I appreciate you tuning in! Hope to see you next time!
Absolutely love the cabinet make over
Get the burlap wet with warm water before stapling it on.
It shrinks a little bit when it dries, making it nice & tight with no sagging.
What a beautiful transformation! I love the burlap and gray tones together. Hardware pops. Nice work you two!
Thanks so much!
Great work!
Terrific transformation. It looks beautiful and chic.
Big shout out to Mr. Lemon, he does impeccable work, he is truly amazing. I priced caning, and it is cost prohibitive, entirely too expensive. The burlap looks almost as good anyway.
One thing I do when stretching fabric is to slightly dampen it. Stripes are the worst to get right.
One staple pulled too tightly and it will show a wave in the lines. As it dries, it is forgiving of slight errors in the tension. Great call on cutting out the door insert panels, and cutting off the scallop from the skirt. Great color and styling, it seems like it would go with most interiors. Not all burlap is the same, this is a nice one with a great flat weave. Do you remember the name of it? This is in your top 10.
Thank you!! I picked it up from Joanne's last year some time? Maybe middle of the line price point so it is a littel sturdier. Used it on other craft projects and had just the right amount laying around. Mr. Lemon is pretty handy! I think I will keep him! lol
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Thanks, right, I guess you have to go and look at the fabric to see what it actually looks like. You gave me the clue.
So many of these projects would not look so professional if they weren't done so precisely. Of course you are the brains of the operation.
I appreciate the vote of confidence! Ha!
BEAUTIFUL
Love the color combo amazing.
Love all the ideas to make something “beautiful “ and “current”
Great flip!
Love your work. BInge watching today
Beautiful piece!
Nice, but how did you finish the burlap inside the doors? No matter how tight you pull that burlap, eventually it will begin to sag with age, either due to pull of gravity or everyday usage.
So much to love…this cabinet is awesome…inspired me to make one for our kitchen AND I live that the family helped you out…so good Kara
thank you thank you thank you!
I was so excited to see how you removed the curves on this piece. I have thought for years how this could be done on our kitchen cabinets. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
this is something I've wanted to try, but it seemed daunting. I'm totally gonna do it now, thanks for the inspo!
love it
I’m glad you used a light stain on top as the grain on the oak is just so lovely! Love the overall look! Well done! ❤️👵🏻
Thanks so much! 😊
Beautiful!
Thank you!
That is gorgeous! Love it!
Sandy Cook Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
The piece looks very modern now. I especially like the top with all of the grain popping from the stain.
I really like that quote as well:)
Pretty!
Elisabeth Singletary Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
Excellent as usual!
Thanks again!
It came out really cute the only thing is you should take him the doors off it would have been easier to put the burlap on
thank you Janice!
I’m sitting here watching you transform that ugly looking piece into something amazing! I am so impressed with your creative genius ❤️
Thank you Lynnette! Your comment blessed me today ❤️
Beautiful
Thank you Nancy!
Wow. The design you had to change this piece was amazing. Beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Such a change! I appreciate how thorough you are with your details of what you’re doing while you’re doing that step and what tool you’re using. Thank you!
You are so welcome! Glad it helps. I know that we love that style of learning when we got started.

You two nailed it on this one! It looks fantastic!
Thank you friends!! It was a fun flip flexing our power tool muscles a bit!
You sure did update the piece. Looks good!
Rosalie Funk Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
So glad you left the top wood grain. So beautiful! I'm learning the most from your channel that you are not afraid to cut the furniture to modernize it. I have a jigsaw😄 Beautiful restoration!
Thank you very much!
That looks great. I do feel like the burlap would have been better if it was adhered to a piece of quarter-inch plywood first. Were you able to finish the inside with trim or did you leave the edges of the burlap showing? The edges would be covered if the quarter inch ply was used, but you could also just use a strip of trim. It may fray if the edges are not covered.
You won't get a response from creator if you mention anything about the burlap application fail.
I totally agree with you
Beautiful job! Just discovered your channel...love your work! 🥰❤
Looks good, but it would be very easy to accidentally tear the cupboard fronts! I think it would have been better to staple the burlap to some thin plywood & then nail it to the back of the cupboard doors. It would certainly make the doors stronger and still give the same effect…just a thought 💭
Great idea!
Love the top
Vernan Eman Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
Nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great flip on this one. I love the burlap. I've seen all the suggestions on how to apply the burlap differently, but my question is how in the world did you apply the burlap to the middle stationary panel? Seems like that would be a pain in the you-know-what. I think that the idea of applying the burlap to a thin panel and then attaching it to the back of the doors would work really great for that middle panel too. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I would like to make over a few pieces we have that were handed down from my hubby's parents (we're retired so you know how long these pieces have been in existence). I'm researching ways to paint the pieces and your channel gives some really great ideas along with the products you've used and that they are easy to source.
really nice update! nailed it. I usually don't like the paint / wood finish combo, but this turned out beautifully. well done.
Thanks a bunch!
loveee watching hello from Nicole in Newzealand
Amazing Job everyone. Congratulations for your channel. So beautiful transformation 🥰
Lizeth Herrera Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
Love the concept, color and design. Hate the burlap. I would have chosen cain. Otherwise love it.
Y'all are adorable. I hope I can get my husband addicted to rehabbing, he's pretty handy with other stuff. I'm itching to set up a new studio when we move.
You can do it! We love it! Loving your comments! So glad you found us!
Totally addicted to your channel !
I like the burlap. But burlap looks anything but expensive.
Love the burlap. I have never seen it done on cabinet doors before and its gorgeous. im new to your channel and love that your family works together. ❤
Thank you Karen Sims! This makes me smile! So happy to hear!
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!

Just found your channel. Love it...! Margi in Phoenix
Thank you NewSummitInc! This makes me smile! So happy to hear!
Holy cow I have this exact piece and it’s been in my garage for several years now! 😅 I got it for $5 and was never sure what to do with it, especially that annoying middle section that’s not even a door-so inconvenient!! I was hoping to see what y’all did about that but I see you didn’t take it off. I’m thinking of making that part an open shelf, but idk. Currently it’s where I store my less frequently used paint. Y’all did well, it’s beautiful!!
That is awesome! Love to see what you all would do with it!
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture What do you do when the weather is cold? I’m new to flipping but the paint /stripper cans say 50 degrees or higher. Lately (thankfully) temperatures lately have been around that or less and I know Dallas is even cooler than where I live. I use my garage as well so when it’s less than 50 I’ve just been sanding or other non-painting tasks so I don’t waste product on a botched job. I’ve never seen anyone address wintertime issues.
Fabulous! Very well done. Enjoying your video tutorials!
Do you have a video that will show me how you paint the back side of the drawer fronts? I always have complications with this process! Thank you!
I don't think I ever have painted those??
You did a beautiful job ..
I just don't like the burlap..glass would have made it look more expensive...
Looks great! The straight lines are much better and love the color. Personally not sure about burlap yet. See it all over just not a fan.
Thank you so much! We appreciate you tuning in! Hope to see you next week!
This is great. I was looking for an alternative to cane webbing for an old break front.
Oh good! Yes I love the cane look but it is so pricy!! Burlap is a great option! Thanks for watching!
Were the staples and edges of the burlap left exposed inside the doors or were they covered somehow?
I absolutely love love love the burlap and the color choices!!! Im new here and getting very excited watching your videos. Im a tad concerned about all of the tools I'm thinking ill need soon. Ive been using brushes and really need a gun. What one do you recommend for a starter. I want a good one not several! Is there a list of your preferred products somewhere? Thanks for the tips!
Hello! There is a an Amazon starter list in my newer videos. Hope that helps! I get my spray guns from harbor frieght. I like the $15 ones best. Good luck to you!
Chalk paint is from the Devil
Hi! Just found your channel, I have enjoyed the transformations so far! One question I have is I notice you do not remove doors or hinges much in the cleaning or painting process. What are the pros/cons of that?
Beautiful! How did you work in your garage this past summer? I’m a Texan also. Glad it’s over. Great job!
It was sooo hot this summer! I had to move so many projects inside! Thanks for watching!
I love your channel but on this one a couple of questions. How did you neaten the inside with the burlap and the slight indents on the front would you correct that before selling. I would have used a 1/4 inch piece of mdf and glued the burlap to it to support it for each panel.
Thanks for tuning in! Do you like the new trend of burlap on furniture? Would you like this in your home? Let me know in the comments!
I love this! I do have a question…. What kind of sponge did you use to apply the stain?
you can look on amazon for staining pads for furniture and they should pop up! Thanks!
Beautiful job can I ask you a question. How long did you let the oil based stain dry before applying the water based poly. Thank you for your videos. They are amazing.
Thank you so much! I will wait atleast 24 hrs before I mix water and oil based products. Hope that helps!
What is the name of the saw you used to cut out the middle? I love what you did with this piece!
Thank you! It was a jigsaw
I would like to see the interior after. Did your husband cut off the excess material?
Nailed it... the top has a cool wood grain. What kind of wood was it?
Thank you!! It was veneer, possibly oak would be my guess.
Nice flip. Did you sell it?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌺
What brand of sandpaper do you use? I seem to go through a sheet in minutes when I am simply trying to scuff sand
Makita. It holds upwell.
What size tip do you have on the spray gun
I use whatever comes with it
The great thing is the burlap can always been changed out for another material later on.
So true Roseanne Stone Thank you! We appreciate you watching!

Is the top Zebra wood????
No I doubt it. This one is long gone but it was a mass produced piece. Highly doubt it had something of that value on top.
