I thought this style is called French provincial. One of my favorite styles. Turned out beautifully
It is. I just didn’t catch the wording until after I hit upload. Oh well! Thank you so much for watching!
those plastic fronts shocked me lol I was not expecting that 😂
Me neither!! Lol I laughed out loud when it came off!
I was as Shocked as you must have been, to have that Plastic drawer front fall off😱

Absolutely stunning ❤❤❤❤❤
Would love to see a tutorial on the spray gun!
I went into a little more detail in my live video a few weeks ago if you can find that one!
I saw the one where someone asked about your compressor setting, but there wasn't much detail. Is there another one? Does it show how to adjust the fan setting and the flow setting to be able to detail a narrower edge like you do?
The black really brings out the details with the lighting gleaming on it. Love a good walnut stain. Gorgeous!
Learning so much watching you!
Awesome! Thank you!

Kara, another beautiful job! You never disappoint! Love the color of that buffet, glad you were able to stain the top, I always love the way that looks. Still praying for you, have a blessed day.
Thank you so much Janet. you know how much I appreciate you! we have a few solid leads this coming week and should know more by the weekend. Thank you so much for the prayers ❤️
This was a really nice do over. I enjoy your videos and am planning to do over a vintage ladies dresser that is maple wood, stained and poly coated, the top is a really thick very shiny laminate that is in perfect condition. By watching you I learned to scratch it with sander , then apply shellac primer in order to make the paint I want stick to it. Going to change out the hardware as it is date and I believe with your tutoring, I will be successful at making it lovely and more modern to go with the interior design flooring and wall color I have chosen. Thanks
Thank you so much! I also did a laminate top on my latest vid. Hopefully this will help also!

awww thank you so very much! I appreciate you!
You are really good
I'll be waiting.
Thanks Donna!
I love General finishes, so rich and beautiful. Easiest stain I’ve ever used. Are you a fan of their top coat finishes?
You did an incredible job, brilliant.
I haven’t tried it but it’s on my list!
beautiful work. I also refinish furniture and have a line up of 6 pieces in waiting, but recently broke my finger on my dominant hand and am at a standstill as I am sporting a splint.
so sorry to hear that! hope you are on the mend and back at it soon!
Hi! Love watching your flips and have learned so much! Curious about how much paint you use per dresser/buffet typically? Thanks in advance for your advice and expertise!
usually about half a quart. not too bad. I can typically get 2 pieces out of a can of paint.
Thanks so much for the reply!! This is very helpful. @@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture
Hi Kara, another job well done! I love the color combo...awesome. Quick question, the Shed giveaway from weeks ago, I thought the drawing pick was for June 1st?? Did I miss it. I watch you all the time. Could you let me know what's going on. Thanks. Pamela 😊❤️🍷
Hi Pam! The shed drawing was over last week. The company and I did the drawing and have notified the winner. Thanks for being here!
Great job. Fooled me on the plastic but you made it beautiful.
Right!! They did a great job of hiding the fact that it was plastic!! Lol
I always watch you tape off your pieces with what looks like masking tape and not painters tape so I’m curious what type or brand of type is it? Thank you
Hello! It’s wide painters tape that I grab at my local Sherwin Williams
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture thank you for taking the time to get back to me it’s appreciated:)
Just curious if you needed a primer on the plastic draw fronts or was wise owl enough?
The plastic pieces I’ve done have scratched off without a primer.
the prep with the sander before was the key to best adhesion. I am sure the wiseowl helped but did much better with a good scuff sand.
Beautiful job, how do you get the stained top and paint edge so crisp?
I apply the tape and then go over the edge of the tape w a razor blade so it’s exact on the rounded edge
Amazing! How long did this take you?
I think about 3 days w dry time ect
Did the plastic drawer fronts need any additional treatment?
just a scuff sand
What sort of glove are you wearing?

MUCHO GORGITA, LL (Lemon Lady). I am pretty good at visualizing, but if you said that you are going to paint this black, and do the top wood, I would have thought it would look terrible. So not so good at visualizing as I thought.
BTW, you say that is a matte black, it looks like at least a satin, one step below high gloss. Matte tends to eradicate or lessen the highs and lows, and gloss will amplify that, since the light hits the high points. Are you sure that is in fact matte? The HD cameras make make more contrast than there is IRL, so it might actually be matte.
I think I figured out why it looks so much better. There is already so much detail to this style, the pattern of wood grain, makes it almost dizzying. Entirely too much to look at.
Painting this tones down all that visual chaos. Compare that to the dresser behind this. That style couldn't be pared down any more, it's extremely simple. The wood grain is the only thing interesting thing or eye catching about it. Pretty sure that what this piece is copying would have been painted originally.
Great call on the hardware as well. This reminds me of that French bombe cabinet that Barry did. It was beautiful before, but all wood grain made it overwhelming, too much pattern and detail. He then painted most of it, and made it look more tranquil and less gaudy. Again, that style was always painted originally, back in the day when it was popular.
Thank you thank u!! Yes I loved the outcome of this one! I was so excited when my client sent me the original picture. Couldn’t wait to turn it into something!! Lol
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Well you had a great idea, very creative. I have NEVER seen this in a flat black.
Would YOU love today's flip in your own home??

LL. Just started watching, good tip of surveying damage while cleaning. This is most certainly and typical "French Provincial", don't know what you makes you say, "Victorian", maybe that is what you meant? I have 2 bedrooms full of this furniture so I I have been trying to figure out what to do with it, it is extremely well made but don't like the style. Edit: OOOPS, mine is solid wood, dovetailed, oak used for the draws, etc.. Again, I don't like this style much but somebody sure does, they had been producing this style for at least 60 years. The only plus to this style is that it is not boxy at all.
Yes, I caught it as soon as I was done editing, but it was too late to go back. Oh well! I’ll blame it on a tired brain. Lol hope you have a great week ahead! P.s. vintage record cabinet still sitting in waiting…it terrifies me! Lol
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture When have you messed anything up???
Uh...well...there was that one time. LOL
That record cabinet is too simple you will not mess it up. I am absolutely sure of it.
As soon as I saw that plastic (PLASTIC?? OFGS -- are they kidding?) front come off the drawer I almost threw up. How much cheaper can the manufacturer get? I'm dying to see what our flipper does with this failure of design and tasteless paean to cheap and shoddy.
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
