- Finally I am making a start on this long overdue project. I am making some more journals inspired by the ones I bought at the antique market in Feb 2020.
Today we are working on the cover and sorting some pages. There might be a little emboridery involved too!

Hi Rachel! This is shaping up to be a lovely cover! Your silk fabrics & trims are just sooo fabulous!! The embroidery on the cover is going to be really pretty! I love that you have enough original documents to use as your signature pages. Plus, even enough to share with us!! Yay!! I hope you already scanned them to make a digital kit for us to use over and over again. The fonts are wonderful! The music paper looks great on the back cover of your journal! This is going to be a VERY special journal when it is finished! I'm looking forward to watching it all come together.
I visited your Etsy, but unfortunately for me, I am too late to score one of your silk & lace journal kits, but maybe I can still have hope of getting one when you list the rest of them. I did get one of your slow-stitch bundles, and I'm looking forward to receiving that in the mail before long. It would be really wonderful to be able to have both! Fingers crossed that I will! I'm going to keep hoping. I am participating in the "Roxy's Journal of Stitching" Challenge, so I guess one could say that these fabrics will have a special home. It is very exciting!

I’m so happy you’re doing this what looks to become a beautiful lacey journal. I loved watching your original video - I bet it was a year ago or more - on the antique lace journal. At that time I hadn’t collected enough lace to make one myself but because of the pandemic, I’ve managed to collect more. Since I’m doing the #roxysjournalifstitchery at the moment, I may not be able to consecutively do a lace journal with you but I will eventually get one done. Thanks Rachel!!

Sometimes they have a little smell but it's different to the musty smell of more recent books. It's not as strong and is different. Thank you so much!

This is my husband's tablet and the wife giving the comment...beautiful journals but as an avid genealogy researcher I absolutely cringe at destroying those genealogy rich documents.
If we kept every scrap of paper we’d be buried alive. Plus, paper is so fragile that it needs special care, yes? Totally impractical, i would think. Devils advocate, here. 😇
It isn't the paper it is the document on the paper that is lost. I am a crafter of many materials so I do understand the use of these items, that being said use caution when repurposing older documents unless you are absolutely sure they have been digitised first.
