This journal is absolutely exquisite and I am in awe. It is like a physical history of textiles and paper, and holding it must feel like holding centuries in your hand. The owner is beyond fortunate. She isn't just getting a book; she is getting magic.
Oh my! You are definitely spreading "the love" by being prepared to part with this beautiful journal. Have loved watching this come together. Sometimes I wonder if I am wasting time crafting and painting but surely the world needs people who create beautiful things with their heart and soul. Thankyou for sharing your gifts Rachel 💕
Rachel, I love this new binding you shared toddy! I am saving this video so I can refer back to it for my next journal. It seems lately I am saving more and more of your videos for future reference. You make such gorgeous journals and also such beautiful ephemera, etc to decorate them with too! I’m sorry you seemed so down yesterday. It appears that it is better today, I hope so anyway. Remember you have lots of us out here that love you and watch you all the time. We love you and your artistry so very much, don’t know what we would do without you! Thank you for all you do for so many of us!
Rachel, you make me laugh & brighten my day🤗. I loved your comments on left-handed scissors. Your voice is very scoothing & it makes the time go very fast, while learning. Thank you for all you do. 🌈🙏💛💛🙏🌈
1st choice: the document tie top & bottom; back cover: the lacy bit with the flower patch; sari silk wrapped around the entire document, quieter colors. I would love to see a very sheer lace covering an entire page of handwriting, attached here & there with sewn tacks. I don't see the need for hurrying to get this document done. Just enjoy the process. It's not like you need to have 20 of them done yesterday! Hurrying just makes us all tense. Take your time and relax. 🤗🤗
This is absolutely beautiful! What an inspiration and a great idea to put very special pieces in. I have SO MANY pieces that my grandmother made well over 65 years ago, that are just sitting in a tote waiting to be shown some love. I may just have to do something similar. I did not meet my grandmother, she passed well before I was born, but I still think it may help me to connect with her. Thank you for sharing this. Enjoy your day. Catherine
Such an inspirational journal Rachel. Definitely one to treasure ❤️ I’m left handed as well and have never been able to use left handed scissors either. My theory is that my brain compensated years ago to using right handed tools😘 Thank you for your creative ideas and time 🥰
Hi Rachel, I’ve never seen document binding before - I love it. You’ve created a fabulous journal - the Rachel way - it’s lovely and soft. Well done!🌷💐
This journal is GORGEOUS! I made one the last time, but without the original papers. It is just not the same without originals. Sigh...Lucky gal who gets it!
Love the document binding Rachel. It’s about time we have something other than the 3&5 pamphlet stitch. I think it would be perfect for smaller, one signature journals or TN. You’re right...an elegant, coffee table adornment. What a beauty! 👍🥰❤️
Love the second binding, think yr idea of a middle stitch would be very pretty. Love the idea of a journal made of treasured items, to use to keep treasured items. Bet this feels so good with all the materials and lace x
Woo Hoo happy birthday to me I got 2 Florentine paper packs. Thanks for putting them together. I do so enjoy watching you craft and listening to your stories. Glad you are feeling better today. Take care stay safe
Hi Rachel, The document binding is fantastic. I love how it looks with the journal which by the way, is stunning! Every page is so beautiful and dreamy.
Oh my! Your book is gorgeous. I have started mine but I’m way behind. It is such a great way to showcase beautiful laces. Thanks for the craft along. 😀💕 Linda
Good evening Rachel. Great video as usual! Can’t wait to try out this new binding (new for me anyway😁)technique. Beautiful journal. Thank you for all you do. 💖
Beautiful. I'd love to own something so pretty. Johanna has a no sew binding with a two hole button and bakers twine, I love doing it, hey thanks for the two you shared today! Awesome work😊😊😊
I really need to make one of these journals with the beautiful documents I received from you. I have some very soft, wide vintage silk ribbon in pale yellow. I think it would be a beautiful piece to use for binding.
I watched the video again. Think I will try something similar and print up and write out favorite poems and put them in it. Also maybe a few choice photos. I got one of those Sprocket photo printers and I LOVE it. You're great Rachael. thanks
Finished mine yesterday. I should have waited one more day to s ee the new binding. However I love how mine turned out. Thanks for sharing this project! Can't wait tola see your Mum's document and lace journal as well.
I love this journal, it’s absolutely beautiful. Thank yo so much for sharing this with us, I’m going to try to recreate something like this using your document digitals. I’ll use the “document” binding for sure, this is exciting❣️
Love this journal. Just picked up a bunch of vintage dollies, hankies and other pieces from a yard sale. I really want to try and make one of these. But would love to have one of your creations. Beautiful!
Rachel: I like these ideas of binding a journal together. I’m not fond of the three stitch binding. It’s no fun. You have created another nice journal. Love the cover. Carol from California
This journal is just stunning. I love the new binding, it suits that journal. If any of these journals are not spoken for I would love to purchase one. I know you have a list of people in line but if ones available, I’m interested
Hi Roxy! This is my first time stopping by your channel. The aesthetic of your work is so lovely! I really love the integration of mixed media into your journals. It makes them so dynamic! Looking forward to exploring more of your content
Hi, two questions 1. Is it ok to use stretch lace in journals ? 2. Do you not like inking, I like that u are so different from others. From Colleen NZ.
Just lovely. Another must make when I get time to go back to my craft room. I’ve finished most of my sewing (6 dresses, 2 bed size quilts for grand boy’s birthdays and 4 miniature quilts for grand Princess’ dolly family), almost finished my second jumper and written the articles I had to, then I’m caught up. So miss playing with paper. I am up to date with my journal of stitchery. Stay safe, and your fears and concerns are real and relevant, you wouldn’t be a true Aussie if the pain suffered by Ukraine didn’t affect you so. We here are feeling the helplessness and frustration along with you, and we are thousands of km from the conflict. I think sharing your concerns is ok, but understand some people might come to Utube to escape reality.

I could stay for hours and watch you work on this journal. I’m going to have to find the start of this journal so I can begin mine.
