Hi 👋 thanks
Maam this orchids is dehydration... No need apply chemical
I’d love to see these plants now…a year later.
👋
I have taught people all my life trust me when I say this educational video is of the highest quality. Informative, well presented and excellent vocal.
Aww thank you glad you enjoyed it 😊
I could not agree more! I learned so much
why didn't you give fertilizer?
Yes, very informative.
In this 2023 i repotted my orchid that was suffering root rot... i thought she would not resist, but yesterday about a month later I noticed her growing a little new leaf!! Thank you very much for sharing all this beautiful information.
I did it! I followed your instructions to a tee. From sugery of dead roots to a spritzing of hydrogen peroxide. I talked to it every day and I switched it to a brighter window. I live in PA so the heat has been on so I make sure I hydrate it with a narrow mist. There were zero roots on this baby but I just saw a new leaf. I have a new hobby. I think you channel is the best. Great information beautifully presented. Thank you.
n betan I tried to kill an orchid once because I had so many. It died but only nine months after I tried to kill it. They are very hardy!
@@AnnaHerrick Why try to kill an orchid? Give it to someone who would cherish it, that's a horrible thing to do
That is so awesome! Congratulations!💎
Do you still have it (two years later?)
I just re-potted an orchid that had no roots left except for a couple trying to grow out of the stem. So your report is encouraging to me that my orchid will recover over time. I also tried to followed MissOrchidGirl instructions as close as I could. When I saw no roots I thought the orchid was done, except for the little sprouts that I guess are new roots trying to grow dis spite the root system being entirely gone. I have hope now.
I often purchase the marked down orchids at my local big box store. The issue with them tends to be extreme wet broken down medium and therefore root loss. I have had pretty good success repotting and getting new growth. Great video- encouraging to see “rescue” can be successful.
I am having SAME issue!
Wrong potting soil ( not soil bark) mountain plants don't need to much water
what to do when leave break half do I remove the leaf or reduce it
@@tshenginThanks for asking this question. I was wondering same thing.
Great idea😊
Not so scared to attempt to save my orchid which is neglected .
My husband bought it for me a few years ago to cheer me up .
I always feel guilty about the state it’s in , it always makes new centre leaves no matter what .
Definitely symbolic of hope 🌈
Very succesful recovery of a dry orchid
I currently have 12 orchids of different types and colors, all but 2 are doing pretty well, with your help I will try to encourage new blooms and growth. Thank You
This is one of the best orchid care videos I have ever seen. Very informative and really nicely thought through. Keep up the good work!
May 2021: 20 orchids, 5 reblooming, a couple stressed but hopeful signs of roots and leaves. Progress👍🏼 Thank you, Dani! 😘🙏🏼💚
OMG i have watched close to a dozen videos on orchids and this one has answered just about all my beginners questions that the others have failed. thank you
Now in Feb. I’m thrilled to report that I have a bloom spike. I’m so excited ❗️
A week ago I found 3 orchids in a trash of Home Depot. Kept them a couple days in water and didn't know how to restore them :( Your video resolved ALL my problems. I am sure now that I save these plants and have more in my collection. I am living in California. Low humidity ,but a lot of sun. Your videos are the best !!! Thanks a lot!

might be time for me to go dumpster diving🏊🏼
@@earthwatersun3848 lol -- Same! - I was trying to imagine which dumpster my Lowes would use, where it is, is it out camera view?... Can I take an Uber?
@@StockDoc2kI have 8 new plants (Phals orchids) just this week- courtesy of Lowes dumpster. Only 1 do I doubt I can save. The rest I'm confident I can rescue, though having the patience to await results is going to drive me nuts😅
Loved this!!! For a new orchid mom this was SOOOO HELPFUL! Thank you!!!
Great tip about untwisting the leaves so they don't continue to grow that way. So simple!
Really enjoyed seeing the one month progress of these rescues! Such a kool idea. It really gives an idea of the patience required to see improvements and new growth which is such a valuable lesson to learn as a new orchid lover!
Glad to hear you enjoyed this video ☺️
I followed your instructions also, wish I could show you the new life growing on my orchids: I have 3 plants, one for 6 years that never bloomed after flowers fell, now I have new buds, a second branch, and new leaves ! The other two have grown new leaves and are just starting to pop out branches!!! THANK YOU ☺️!!!
This was the most inspiring video in the series! I actually treated and repotted an orchid I have had for ages, and found the substrate plug from the nursery stuck in the middle of the roots - oops! After only three days, there is already a tiny root growing, yay!
I had a Orchid that seemed to do as much as what was required to live. After I moved I placed my Orchid near a north window that gets indirect morning light. Now my Orchid is totally different. It is thriving and this is the second year it has bloomed. I’ve realized how important light is for Orchids to thrive. I have rescued two more and they have blooms too. I love your videos they’ve been essential for me to understand what I can do that makes them happy!
I’m so glad I found your channel!!! I have always loved Orchids and desired to keep them in my home but I never knew all the care (simple and straight forward) that they need. You explain things so well and so in detail. I wish I would have found you sooner, but so happy I finally did.
Everything I’ve learned about orchids, I’ve learned from Miss Orchid girl. Thank you for making these videos. I appreciate your thorough explanations and helpful tips. I just repotted a sick orchid with only one root and I am hopeful that “like a phoenix that rises from the ashes,” she will make a full recovery 🌱❤️
🤞
One year later… how did you do with your orchid recovery?
I have saved one with only one root left, they really are little troopers!😁
I'm afraid this video was released about a month too late for my Blue Mystique Phalaenopsis. After almost 2 years of successful blooming and leaf growth, the poor thing became dehydrated, lost all of its roots, had the weakest leaves, and on top of all that stress, it suffered from a gnat investation. I focused my attention on new soil, a new pot, and ridding the gnat problem. After viewing this video, I know where I went wrong and what I should have done. I love orchids and can't wait to dive back into my hobby. I have renewed excitement and determination for when I receive my next orchid. Thank you for the much needed direction and inspiration, MissOrchidGirl! 😄😊
I have a 3-4 week old keiki at the base of one of my orchids. I was so excited when I noticed it was another keiki (have a keiki from the same orchid from last year too) and not a flower spike. 😆
It's going to be my 4th white phaleanopsis and my 6th orchid. 😇
👍👏your voice, your pace, your content and how you deliver it is superb! I’m an armature orchid grower for +20 years, have read a lot of orchid books, probably know most of what you’ve said, but still enjoyed your videos so much😘 Really delighted to come across your channel. Thanks a lot and keep it up.
I have struggled to grow orchids. I have friends that give me completely different opinions about how to care for them. Your videos are terrific!!
All your videos are great! I received an orchid as a gift and was watering it with the 3 ice cubes as they recommended in the instructions, until it started to decay, thankfully I found your channel , I bought new media and repotted it. Thank you so much!!
Hi, where did you buy the media?
Excellent tutorial, no waffle, lots of valuable information, your a great teacher. Thank you, I now understand my orchids
Your videos are fantastic. I feel like I’ve learned a lifetime of orchid care info in just a couple hours.
This video was super helpful.
Our office was gifted one of these just before we relocated. My boss had filled it with water and put it in her car for at least an hour when I rescued it. It is Summer in the South! So, it was basically boiled. She was burned quite badly. We lost some leaves and flowering .. sticks. There is still a leaf but it’s withered and sad. I took it apart and did as you did in the video, removing old roots and brown skin around the stem/base. It has a nursery pot like the one you showed and new bark. I’m hoping you helped me save it! Fingers crossed! Thank you for posting this!!!!
I am finally having good luck with my orchids! Yay! One orchid had wrinkly leaves and few roots. Now it has 2 new roots and a new leaf forming! Don’t give up! Be stubborn like me! Thank you, MissOrchidGirl! 😘❤️🙏🏼
Update April 1, 2020 1 orchid: flower shoot 18 inches with lots of buds, 1 orchid: 1 new root, 2 flower shoots, 1 orchid: flower shoot, tiny root or other shoot forming, 1 orchid: finished 3 years in a row blooms when gf gave up so I took it, last, orchid with no roots had given up on, growing over water: 3 new roots, 2 firm leaves. I’m encouraged. 👍🏼👍🏼❤️
These Orchids are very resilient and most of the time they will come back.
second orchid is where i'm at right now. her impressive recovery gives me hope for my poor phal ;-;
Oh good luck
Wow, first time orchid Mommie here. I just picked up one from the store and I thought it was fine, but after watching your videos, I realize it needs some serious loving and attention. There’s many dead roots and the leaves are yellowing and wrinkled. Tomorrow, I’ll go back to that store to get the supplies I’ll need and I may just rescue another one:) Thanks!
Another great video! I appreciate your knowledge and fast learning curve. I really dislike losing a plant, and I appreciate your clearly articulated reasons for the problem and the possible cures!
Hi Danny thank you for this piece. I once bought a pair of mini phals sold as one package. They were essentially treated the same but one was set back because of direct sunlight and a burnt leaf though both was in the sun. As they both progressed one was popping roots and the burnt one was losing all its roots. Well after two and half year, the phal with the burnt leaf is finally pushing out its third leaf, had never spiked for and finally developed a root system. The one doing well, had grown thirteen leaves and dropped four, spike five or six times since, and now is growing a Basel keiki which makes me nervous. But there remains thirteen leaves and a whole bunch of air roots poking every which way. Also both has been in leca since discovery of MOG 😬. Amen and this is the story of the twin mini orchids from Costco.
Hi really enjoy your videos bought an orchid from big box store got it home to find that the roots was dead. I followed your instructions and today there is new roots. I am so happy thanks
Hello, your voice is inspired and for learning, excellent learning video for Orchid plants. Thanks, I am watching from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you for crystal clear explanation! I hope I will care my orchides properly.
You're a vast knowledge of enlightenment. Thank you very much for your videos.
Thank you so much for this video! Thanks to you, my almost dead orchid is now sprouting new roots, leaves and even branches!
Thank you for this thorough rundown on dealing with these Orchid situations.
This was very useful! Thank you, I have about 10 orchids I’m currently trying to bring back after an in law passed. I’m a plant person but orchids are newish for me. But this was really informative, so thank you again!! ❤😊
I finally took all the medium off my orchid after watching you videos several times. What I discovered was there were no thriving lower roots. There are roots above. Now to learn how to help my plant.
Your instructive video is so helpful. My orchids are now about to get a complete refresher treatment! I had only used sphagnum moss, no wonder they were too damp.
Thank you so much! I am new to orchids as my daughter left them with me to go abroad for a few months! Your videos are so very helpful!
Thank you for your helpful information on orchid rescue!
Spot-on! Liked and subscribed. Your videos are top-notch! Clear, concise, to the point, no excessive chatting and very educational. Thank you 🙏🏼
Oh my!!!! Impressive!!!! Congratulations!!!! Beautiful work!!!
I live in Florida and my orchids are outside. I don’t have much control in wet season. Thanks to you I will keep an eye on cleaning the stems to prevent rot. It took lots of my flowers by now.
Hi Danni and thank you again for such helpful/useful orchid growing info. I feel like always learn something new from your series. I do hope you can find time to give us a tutorial on winter orchid care. I have a few new genus this year other than phals and would like to know if they have special care needs for winter. (Den Phals, Oncidum, Miltonia & Cattleya) Thanks again.
I just got a new orchid I've had 3 others but one had gotten root rot your videos helped me out. Thank you. I'm learning a lot from you.
I just purchased my first catasetum Millenium Magic Witchcraft. Its a young established plant . The vendor gave me lots of great care info but this video was a fantastic step by step guide. Between the two of you , I feel prepared to care for this plant. Thank you.
Your videos are so helpful. You have taught me so much about orchid care. Will be buying the recommended pots and media mix and following your instructions.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of orchids. I have rescued a few from my mother who is not the best at keeping house plants and I have lost a couple over the years because I know very little about them.
After watching this particular video, I can breathe a sigh of relief as I followed everything you covered when I rescued a couple of orchids recently from other people, I just followed my instincts and I'm so glad I got it right.
I have also cleaned the tops of the leaves with water and a lint free cloth to get back the shine as the orchid misting solutions I have been using leave an unsightly residue. I tried to find a product called leaf shine but could only find in aerosol form so decided on the water and cloth instead. I also use a fine artists paint brush to remove any dust or debris to keep them looking good.
Now that I have found your channel I am more confident in going ahead with purchasing or rescuing more orchid plants. Thank you again, I wish you a very happy 2022 year 😁😁🌱☀️
Thank you so much! This is a very well done in depth guide to safe our orchids :)
I've been binge-watching for the past two weeks on how to save an orchid, and this is my favorite video thus far. Great job at going through all the steps in repotting because I was feeling extra clueles. Mine looks a lot better an any of these examples. However, I'm noticing that the original aereal roots have dead tips and I'm getting ready to repot my phal (just waiting on my tools to arrive) but I was wondering, should I just cut the tip of those aerial roots? Should I get rid of it completely? The roots are very green is just those tips. Also, I'm seeing there's some yellow underground roots but I haven't really touched anything I've been watering only. I spray her and clean her leaves through the day so there's soo many new roots blooming I'm excited!
I also started seeing a new stem coming through (a very tiny tip) and I'm seeing a new leaf coming out... why is my phal growing both at the same time? If this is bad... what should I do?
I am so glad I found your channel. I’ve loved orchids for such a long time but can never make them last. Now I understand that sellers don’t treat them well and they need to be diagnosed and repotted after purchase to find what will work best for the current state if the root system. Thank you so much
OMG woman, you are amazing! I’ve learn a lot from your videos! ❤️
You have helped me so much. All my orchids (5😬) have ALL the good signs, one in bloom, all getting new roots, even one with tiny leaves and almost no roots, I wouldn’t give up on it! Lol It is forming new roots. Thank you, Dear One. ❤️💚❤️
Thank you 🙏🏾 for sharing. God bless you and your family
Thanks for a beneficial info on caring orchids
Youve given me courage to repot my old orchid. Crossing fingers! Thank you!
Great videos. Just repotted two of mine after watching your videos. Thanks for the info.

I learned SO much more from this video, thanks! Your videos are informative and easy to understand
Like the way she explained everything thank you for your patience and care for d orchids and sharing the progress, the issue how they are called . Thanks and very very useful the manner of explaining the care for orchids.
Very good video thank you so much I just bought everything needed to repot all three of mine. I took dead roost off and I did see the cork lookin thing on one now I’m going to go take that one back up remove that for the roots did look the worst on it and hopefully like yours it will be saved. It does have new leafs and also it’s blooming. Love how you explained it all thank you
Thank you soooo much for this series. I've learned so much. Now to find some planting medium for cool damp climates and a house that is never as hot as the orchid likes.
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing….I recently bought 6 orchids, a multi-colored blue, another purplish pink, another yellowish white mixture, the last 3 are all white, this video has helped me greatly in trying to care for them because they are my first orchids ever. Hopefully I will be able to have them a long time. Thank you.
Very much informative for the beginners
Thank you Maam for your vlog in how to take care sick orchids.
Thank you so much for adding the update at the end!!!! That made me subscribe!
I have always been nervous to repot orchids,

I too, am a phal girl! Since I live in an apartment the space I have for my sweeties is very limited. Windowsills only! Therefor I have mini-phals. 12 of the sweethearts. They bloom, spike and bloom more. They're fun and beautiful. All of my supplies come from rePotme.com. Not cheap but results are well worth it. Enjoy your sweet phals!
This is so good and helpful! Thank you! 👏
I'm right now caring for a sick Dendrobium Phalaenopsis Hybrid (which was sold to me under the name "Cambria" - well...). This video is very helpful to me! Thanks for all your great content. I'm binging since some days now. My little sick Orchid lost nearly all its roots, just 6 tiny ones remained, not even 5cm long. I'm gonna put her in a pot tomorrow, but wont plant her too deep. Really hope she makes it 🙏🏼 She even produces some Keiki. Don't know if I can save her and her babys, but your videos give me hope :)
Thank you for this thorough and quite useful tutorial.
Lynette Foxen & Donald Trump - What we really need is a massive ever expanding progressive European type socialist government by elite ruling class and their bureaucrats just like what is being installed here in California. Citizens can be very confident in their futures because they will under complete control of a progressive government. We have got to give out as many free services and money as possible. You don't need to worry that the US is virtually bankrupt with $23 trillion in debt.
Very educational lesson once again. I have phals in very similar conditions and will use these techniques. Thank you.

hi miss orchid girl, thank you so much
Excellent video! Very detailed with clear explanation! Thank you 😊
Thank you so so so much for your videos. I really want my orchid to live. I've never been lucky with orchids. Your information is sooooooooo helpful. I love how your videos are so detailed.
this video made me so happy! thank you so much. I really needed help
Thanks for your help!
Love all your video on orchids thank you!
Omg! My rescue orchid has a keiki! How exciting. I found it underneath a leaf. I can't believe someone would just throw it away. Thank you so much for your videos I'm learning so much!
I dug an orchid out of the garbage. I don't know how long it was out there and the weather was cold for an orchid, probably 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit. I took apart the root system and there was a lot of rot of the roots and the medium, which was also densely packed. It has one lovely little leaf coming out following the unfortunate die off of the one large leaf it still had on it when I rescued it. I'm hopeful! And so grateful for the wonderful instructions - thank you!
Love this video. Watch your videos more than once....... always learning
Such a useful video, thank you! ❤️
I think I made the mistake of cutting my perfectly healthy spikes after the flowers fell off. The next season only one flower spike grew! I’ve had the orchid one whole year and I soon will be re-potting my orchid baby. Thank you for your guidance! I love your videos ❤️ happy orchid growing
Thank you for your advice.
Very well done Miss, you're amazing.
