That “IGNorance” part
I don't see the issue. He did incite a riot. Just because he paid to get the charges dropped doesn't mean he didn't do it lol
@Blisterdude123 good on IGN reminding their readers how moronic he is. All cause he said sorry and was disappointed in his fans, he was let off the hook with no one understanding the key word "HIS". Which means he could have done literally ANYTHING else to give those items away to them but chose not too
@@Girlwithmetalgear It's not even the first time an online personality has pulled this kind of nonsense. So many of them do this kind of cr ap without thinking for five seconds, because they've all got 'main character syndrome'. It's their world, we just happen to live in it.
Frigging boneheads in this comment section on this one, big L for everyone BUT IGN for once, imo.
@Blisterdude123 No cap. Asmon fumbled the bag on this one without a doubt. Streamers like Kai need to be made an example out of and held accountable for their circus shows they host in public. Kai's energy is just "GYATT GYATT DUKE RIZZ N***a." If the dude's IQ tried to self delete, a quick dive off his stupidity level would do the trick. Youknow it's bad when IGN gotta be the ones to remind people that sh*t happened. Exceptionally rare W for IGN, common L for the Kai fans.
He was actually charged with inciting a riot. He made a plea agreement which included apologizing and restitution to have the charge dropped
On one hand, he literally did not suggest that people should tear the city or any buildings up.
He just made the announcement, people went wild, and then due to poor management of the campaign, people became even bigger hooligans out of frustration.
Unfortunately, in terms of legality, he is still accountable as the root cause of the riots
@@darrylferguson3622 There is a reason that kind of massive gathering needs a permit so the city can make proper preparations.

Well this is what he is known for the most to a wider audience.
because that's what he's most known for
@@jackied962 That's not a reason to bring up bad memories out of nowhere. Just use the guy's name, no need to attach derogatory titles to it when that whole situation was resolved. It's just throwing shade for no reason. Which in turn has become plenty of reason to throw shade at IGN and their tactless writers.
I love how dispite how hars he said it was and the amount of deaths in the run he still loved it and didnt complain nor needed easy mode.
He did incite a riot though tbf lol
I just looked this up. He did actually have allegations against after the riot in New York. They were just dropped after he apologized. Asmongold IGN is actually right about this one.
Edit: he actually had two charges of inciting a riot and then a charge for unlawful assembly
Pretty sure it's the settlement he paid and not the apology that kept him out of prison.
but what does that have to do with eldng ring?
@@TheVeron absolutely nothing
@@mr.goldfish866 so why was that said? theres many thing they couldve said top streamer of twitch, streamer of the year etc etc and before you say "oh non gamers wouldnt know him by those titles" why would non gamers care about a elding ring post then?
@@TheVeron it’s probably because ign linked another article leading to their one about Kai from the past in this article. That’s probably why it’s oddly specific.
Just because someone doesn't get charged it doesn't mean they aren't guilty, they just got away with it. Look at OJ. Kai knew what he was doing, he just doesn't give AF.
What an extreme example lol The OJs, Casey Anthonys and George Zimmermans of the world should be looped together...and away from something like the NY incident where Kai's good intentions went wrong and he was fully cooperative with law enforcement throughout their investigation
The problem with the piece is that they went out of their way to create a negative narrative and I don't wonder why
I live under a rock, how did he incite a riot by playing Elden Ring?
Kai was actually facing charges and he did actually do that. It was a great example of people that wield incredible power and misusing it...
IGN took a pot shot, but it is what it is. They didn't lie.
I dunno, when my buddy asked me who he was after he beat elden ring and saw this i literally said " a popular streamer. the other year in new york.."
Headline should be 'Literally fucking who? finally finishes a game that isn't press A to Awesome, nobody fucking cares'
Agreed
he had 130k people watching all throughout it, 95% of people on twitch know him...
Based
Lmao, my thoughts exactly
I mean to be fair if he didn't fork over 150,000$ they would have charged him
I don’t understand what the problem is
Have to say I wouldn’t have got close to 1700 deaths. I’d definitely have either rage quit or just lost interest. Massive respect to him for actually persevering through the pain
Bruh now what?
They aren't wrong, just a weird way to congratulate someone lol
and how would you congratulate ted bundy to his birthday as a news-source? by not mentioning the thing he's famous for?
@@nonyabisness6306 when we celebrate independence day do we also mention the slaughter of natives? when talking about the great ghandi do we talk about the fact he was also a pedo?
Idk elden ring wasn't that hard but it was fun.
Does the marathon include doing everything possible in one run? Or just streamlined the main story??
"Malenia awakens"
Kai: Naruto ⁉
He literally did incite a riot. He wasn't charged because it was almost certainly unintentional, and he's rich and famous. I just think it's really weird that people are hating on a truthful headline. You people got me out here defending IGN. Celebrities have a responsibility to be aware and careful about doing events like he did.
I hate streamers because of this. Guy hired a bunch of fancy and expensive lawyers and because the justice system buries it head in the sand when a rich person waves money around, he gets off Scott free.
@@cartoonvideos5 You're not wrong, but a big part of it is that the legal system is extremely complex and people without money are unable to afford good representation who will spend the time to unravel it and mount an adequate defense. Public defenders are overworked and don't have enough time to properly work each case. Better funding of public defenders so that there are more of them in the pool would be a good starting point. There are also a lot of sleezy grifter lawyers out there too; having a lot of money and connections helps you navigate that as well.
It’s the fact they try to slander his name, for no reason? Why can’t they just give him props without having to throw shade? Idk.
Why is it necessary to bring it up in the context of him beating Elden Ring though? It's not related in any way. Oh wait, I know - to shit stir, get attention and jab at the guy. If you're too stupid to understand that and why no serious journalist would do it, then I'd suggest you apply for a job at IGN, because you're exactly the kind of person that they're looking for.
If it was truthful he would had been charged. Guy's an internet microcelebrity with a couple millions in the bank he's not Donald Trump.
IGN is only good for announcements and nothing else😂
They just cashin on things that already happened...Profiting on the audience built over the years
They're bad at that as well. So many missed indie gems in favor of $...
In other words, IGN is good for nothing, because announcements of their type can be found literally anywhere.
@@blublugamingchannel Don't defend them
@@deshawnwilliams6939 not doing that 😅😅😅 on the contrary
That's umm... that's a lot of deaths...
IGN about to follow Kotaku 😂
We’ve allowed ourselves to lose our sanity for far too long don’t you think? Internet has 2 choices. Leave the internet to dry or advance AI faster than OpenAI.
Kai kept his word to marathon Elden Ring while Asmonbald still hasn’t cleaned his room
The world just isn't ready for that kind of change tho.
And he did it with no magic or summons only using rivers of blood which tbh isn't as cheesy as the other 2 and is a fair trade given how it's his first souls experience and the fact that he defeated malenia lemme solo her style is an insane accomplishments
To be fair he is the cleanest person in the world so there's really no need to clean it.
@@Quintessence4444 In his world yes
I haven't played Elden Ring yet. I am curious. Is 160 hours a good time for finishing Elden Ring?
I mean, I’m not fan of IGN, but I had no clue who Kai Cenat even was. After seeing his name I recalled that I did see a story of a streamer inciting a riot in New York. So, the headline isn’t false. Someone people aren’t as embedded into streamer culture. But yeah, it’s still a little off base.
Asmon: Elden Ring is hard
Asmon: Elden Ring is easy
What else is new
He literally was charged 😂😂
What I like about kai he rated the game 10/10 while he died and rage in many moments
So, you're claiming he didn't incite a riot?
Cenat faced charges of inciting a riot and promoting an unlawful gathering. M'Niyah Lynn, a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, said the case would be officially dismissed after the Snapchat apology was up for 24 hours.
Yes, yes he did "get charged". It was dropped.
tbh though like, is IGN entirely wrong? no he wasnt officially charged for it, but lets not act like dumbasses, it wasnt just a coincidence. yall got some snail brains if you think the riot wasnt at all influenced by kai. im not saying its his fault, but it was caused by him. IGN technically isnt wrong.
How do you count your deaths in these games other than watching every stream/video
you set up a counter and press a button each time, and the number just stays on screen
In a way yes he did but why the hell do they have to bring it up?
IGN sucks but we all watched hell break loose over that Fucking giveaway in Manhattan.
Because he did. He literally did. Just cause he wasn't charged for it didn't mean he didn't. Why do people like Kai so much? The dude has the mentality of a brick that got thrown too hard and broke in half
Same reason react channels are so big and reality TV shows are so popular. One of the biggest RUclips react channels (think they're called Cartier Family -- 4 brothers reacting) are all grown ass men with the vocabulary of a 4th grader.
@CanadianEhHole and what kills me the most is you got people in there late 30s talking about how "positive he is" and how he's the best part of their day. Could you imagine being 37 and the 22 year old screaming like a toddler is the highlight of your afternoon? Like duuude
I mean, he ain't playing Baulder's Gate 3.
Technically yes, he was charged but it was later dropped.
