Thanks Pat, just a note. Between the Notte and Silenzio sits the Facile. It has the sound treatement of the Silenzio but withoutn the timer and outside touches.
And it has slightly more powerful motor. I want the Facile but it seems SCG doesn't carry it. They're (almost) local to me.
Excellent explanation! Saving up for an espresso grinder!
mine died suddenly today after 7 years of workhouse effort.
I wish you guys carried the "Facile" version of the Eureka. I don't need a timer but the Notte is as annoyingly loud as my current burr grinder. It's a pretty short drive to Seattle. :-)
What about Eureka Mignon Casa, is this just a different name for Specialita in different regions?
I just ordered one from you and hope it does a better job than the Rancilio Rocky grinder that lasted me 7 years before it died suddenly today. One tidbit- the espresso grinder is way more important to getting a decent shot than the espresso machine. Better to buy the best espresso grinder that you can afford and a less expensive machine.
If I'm single dosing and weighing in advance, would the notte be better than the specialita? I heard the specialita has high retention
Did you find out? Notte and Specialita are only different in burr size, so I hope retention isn't a issue on other ones. I'm considering Silenzio.
Hey, I just wonder if the Notte is the same as the Manuale?
Greetings from Austria!
Yes it is.
The notte is exactly the same burr set and motor as the filtro
I use the filtro for espresso its great
Burr set is differently cut for the filtro then for the espresso focused machines.
@@thomasbreed1997 there's only one Burr set for that machine
@@Stevesbe they use different burrs. One for filter @50mm, one for espresso @50mm
@@playnicegames nope
@@Stevesbe do a quick search on RUclips for “The Eureka Mignon Crono/Filtro... for Espresso”… the more you know. A lengthy video that will explain to you there are different burrs one for filter and one for espresso.
notte still out of stock :/
time for a mignon XL review maybe?
Hi! Can it fine grind for Turkish coffee?
where is gale? what did you do to her?!😫😫😭
My Specialita clogged daily after two weeks of use. My previous grinder, a Mazzer, never clogged up in 15 years of use. I do not recommend, unless you just want a pretty door stop.
Oof. I was considering facile/silenzio, because it looked nice, had a reputable brand, and was available. I didn't need the bigger burr or the a screen in the same series. I pull around 3-4 shots daily, so this is concerning. I didn't want to dish out $600-700, so Niche zero, Caedos were out as well. How do you feel about specialita now? Also, what kind of beans do you use?
whatever you do, do not single dose and/or use a puffer top thing
Do you RDT??
The Specialita is the best, I get near zero retention with a mod I 3D printed for single dosing with added small bellows...
Do you have a store for the design or a video?
I have been researching the Mignon line up and planning on buying one very shortly but I have one question... if I only do single dosing or at least I am not planning on stop doing single dosing ever, is there much point to get the Specialita? Should I just get the manual one. I am wondering will the 5mm less in the burr size and the less powerful motor make any difference to the end result in the cup.
@@askay2k i doubt it
@@askay2k unless your palate is incredibly refined I highly doubt youd taste the 5mm difference. I single dose and use the Silenzio with a lot of success with a single dose plunger mod.
@@IronKreator how long have you used your silenzio? And how is it doing? I usually single dose on BBE grinder, but I'm thinking of upgrading to another machine. Im also going to drink a bag at a time, so timed The only concern I have is that the coffee grounds get into the motor unit, decreasing its lifespan.
