    Pour some boiling water into your gravy boat while you prep the gravy, pour out when ready to fill, this will keep the gravy hotter longer.

    Do the couples bring their children? I'd like to have a friendsgiving but the couple friends we have, if they bring their children, that would be quite a huge crowd to feed and slightly overwhelming to think of them all piled in my home.

    I loved your blooper reel. My sister-in-law that always made the Lion's share of pies for everyone at holiday time. She and her daughter got together and made pie crust one Saturday several weeks before the holiday they would make enough and stack them between waxed papers three days before I'm making day they would put them in the fridge. I'm making day you just put the pie crust in the pan put the filling in finished it up and he's our baked it or baked up the meringue. She also had a lot of her fillings home canned and ready to go. I always thought it was a genius idea. She would have a whole big table and Island full of fresh pies. It always amazed me.

    • @BenjesBride
      @BenjesBride 2 года назад +4

      In case this is helpful info for you...
      You can fit the most people around double pedestal tables because there are no table legs to get in the way.
      Each person should have a minimum table area of 24" wide and 18" deep. For example... A standard 8'x3' banquet table seats 8 people; 4 people on each side.
      Consider the size of the dining area: If traffic passes behind the seated diner, allow at least 36" between table and wall/obstruction to edge past. If traffic passes behind the seated diner, allow at least 44" to walk past. If no traffic passes behind, at least 32" is recommended.

I still have a Turkey in the deep freezer from last year; I couldn’t bring myself to cook for just my husband and I. This year we will have a small gathering. I make everything from scratch and no green bean casserole 🤢

    I’m in Huntington West Virginia, our prices are definitely rising on most everything. We are going to my sisters for Thanksgiving this year but I will be hosting Christmas so I already bought my turkey (87 cents a pound, 24 lbs, at Walmart. I bought a spiral ham also. I wanted to make sure we had Christmas dinner.

    Turkeys here in upstate New York are nonexistent, a lot of our stores don’t have any in as soon as they get them in they are gone. I did snag one at Aldi the employee Told me when they were getting a shipment in and I went there right when the store opened and was able to get the turkey. You can do with out a lot of things on Thanksgiving but not the turkey!

    I’ve learnt a new tip to cooking chickens and it should work with turkeys. When baking, turn the bird over onto its breast. I know! Sounds weird but the theory is that all the juices run down into the breast….and it works! Turn it over to brown the top and you end up with a juicier chicken. Love following you all the way from Queensland Australia!

I always wait to you post before I make it and have made soo many of your recipes (not just for thanksgiving but family dinner as well…IE Tuna Pie😋 it’s a family fave now!!) I love what you put together for Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving!! I gotta ask tho…what is at the 6:28 mark? It looks delicious even tho I’m not sure what it is lol! I thought maybe your cranberry salsa on cream cheese but nah, now I don’t think so…? Maybe something with blueberry? Whatever it is did you link a recipe video for it?

    Last year was out first Thanksgiving at where we now live. Even though I had the turkey in the fridge for 3 days it was still frozen solid the day before. I had always wet brined my turkey the day before. That went out the window and I spent the day giving the turkey a water bath to thaw it. Then I just seasoned it well with salt and let it sit in the fridge uncovered overnight. Everyone loved the turkey this way and said it was better. So then I had to sit down and remember what I did on the fly to write it down and repeat this year.

    Hi Kimmy! Great video!! Fun seeing the clips from the past 😊. Yes, I’ve seen prices on pretty much everything go up. I got my turkey for free. Every year our supermarkets around here give you a free turkey when you reach a certain amount that you have spent (within the last month or so). There’s actually a few options they offer on the free item. For me the one thing that has to be on the table for Thanksgiving is mashed potatoes & gravy 😁. Looks like you have everything organized and you’re ready to go 👍🏻😁. Hope you’re having a great day! 🍁🦃🍁
