I’m a Paramedic and I work anywhere from 24-36 hours a shift which can calculate to upwards of 200 hours a week. I just recently started meal planning and freezer meals after watching several of your videos, and let me just say, IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!!! Needless to say I am usually exhausted when I get home or am only home for a short time in between shifts and it has helped me so much and helping to ensure that my family eats actual meals instead of just junk while I am gone. So I just want to say THANK YOU for what you do. It has literally changed my life!
@@4nicmac4 you’re missing the entire point of my comment. But let me elaborate better for you since you feel the need to correct me…..well OVER 100 hours a week equaling over 200 hours per pay period. Does that appease you now? 🙄
I would love to see a no spend for 2 weeks. I feel like that would tie in your shop the shelves and would be nice to see what you can do during a time when you cant go to the store.
I love that your food storage is so complex. I know you share with Kally and Felix, and in-laws from time to time. Having so much to choose from is such a blessing. I’ve seen the hard work you put in to planning and growing your supplies. Before you know, Jonah will move out and you’ll be able to help him as needed. Kudos to you!!!
Look into souper cubes. You put your soup into cubes that you can freeze. Then you pop out the cubes once frozen and four cubes fit into a 1 gallon size ziplock. Then since they’re nice squares you can stack them in your freezer. Seriously amazing!
i freeze my green peppers when i have extra so when i need them for cooking i just pull out a chunck throw it in whatever im cooking to give it flavor. i cook and eat no waste so if it can be frozen it goes in the freezer. i have a green pepper plant im growing this year and last year i had one plant and got about 25 peppers from it. i put them in the freezer and didnt have to buy peppers to cook with until august of this year. now my plant from this year i got two yesterday and hoping for more. the weather has been so hot my garden didnt do as well this year .
Kimmy, I have loved watching your channel for a long time now. You have always inspired me to be a better wife, mom, cook, home keeper. I want you to know that I can see and hear a difference in your videos. I didn't think they could get any better but they are. And your planner is the best! I have tried so many over the years. Yours is my favorite. The best one is the one you will use and this one has the zones, routines and so much more. I am really going to focus on my inventory and meal planning and freezer meals. I am very interested in more videos with you showing how to shop your inventory and all of that. Thank you so much
Can I just say, with all the madness, hurt, and worry that is in the world these days your videos are really a breath of fresh air. I often wonder what you think about the current events but honestly I'm glad you don't discuss and just keep this a safe place. xoxo
You can make applesauce in the instant pot and blender. Fill the instant pot with cut up apples and 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon on manual for 10 mins natural release 5 mins and then when it’s done just transfer it to the blender and pulse till your liking
I agree with Brooke, I too would love to see a no spend for at least 2 weeks. I cannot believe 5 people could eat that many meals that you are planning this week! You give such inspiration on how to be prepared , but that amount of food in one household in way overload.
Loved the way you show how to meal plan by going through your freezer and fridge and pantry. I have been feeling overwhelmed with how to put everything together and get everything used before it goes bad. You really make it look so much easier than the system I have been using. Wow what a difference. Thank you for showing that and how to use your planner. I have never used a planner. Nobody has ever taught me how to meal plan or make and follow meal plans for home. So informative . I appreciate you and what you do on your channel. A big thank you.
I am absolutely loving my new planner! I really like all the extra note paper you put into it. I can jot down recipes, take notes in church meetings, I use those note pages for a ton of different things, I love it because they are all in one place and I can tab right to the notes I took for a given subject! Thank you so much for this meal planning session, again it helps so much to have a reminder on how to use up what you already have on hand. :)
What an inspiring video! I loved how you went through your fridge, freezers and pantry and really broke everything down, while logging it into your planner. You're amazing! Dinner looked so good! It's definitely something my guys would love.
A great broccoli dinner my dad made years ago...raviolis, sour cream, frozen/fresh broccoli mix all together cook. Last 10 minutes add cheese and finish cooking, soooo good!
I just inventoried my food, I want to be more organized and more frugal. I am on a very low budget. I need to watch more of your videos, you never cease to amaze me , Ms. Kimmy.
When we have apples and carrots that need using up I make beef curry 1 tray of mince beef 800g-1kg carrots use what you got 1 cooking apple or 2 eating apples Medium Handful sultanas 1-2 tbsp of curry powder of choice but then about 1hour before taste test then add abit to taste We have it on the hob has long as possible on simmer
That sounds so good! I can’t have nightshades but I want to try it with garam masala as a substitute. One thing I really miss since I cannot have tomatoes and peppers anymore is Country Captain, but I have adapted it with many other spice blends and sauces over the years, and it also contains sultanas. So good! TFS this recipe!
Great video, very motivating. I've found, the two times I've actually done it, that menu planning is the biggest money saver. Also, I've been seeing a lot of news and discussions about food shortages, which is why the pasta shells might be missing from the grocery store.
Good morning!!! No words can describe how happy I was to get my planner in the mail yesterday!! Cant wait to see what you do today! Do you have any videos for snacks and fun when watching football games at home? Like a tailgate party? I know you're wonderful at planning parties! Thank you for all you do!! You have no idea how much you have helped me taming my anxiety! ❤🧡💛
A other vote for a true no spend for a full 2 weeks. I have a question Kimmy: do you have freezer inventories? Wouldn't that make meal planning easier, especially with seeing what items are oldest and should be used first? I wrap my meats in saran wrap then place in freezer bags. On the outside I write what the item is, and wrap date that way I know how old an item is. With all that meat, have you ever wasted any? As far as produce do you use all of it up or is a lot thrown out?
Those Country pork ribs look delicious! I make them too, but differently. I just salt, pepper, garlic, cover and bake them. Then a 1⁄2 hour before they're done, I add barbecue sauce and pineapple rings. Then, I put them back into the oven uncovered for 30 minutes. They're so delicious together. It's been one of my favorite dishes since I was a teenager. I'm old now (63). I'm ready to try something new on them, and yours is it! Tonight for dinner we had Tri tip marinated in soy sauce and lemon pepper. Then my hubby cooked it out on the grill. We fixed it as hot sandwiches, with homemade french fries on the side. I just love that salad topper! My husband came home with that over the summer time, after shopping at Costco one day. He replaced what I usually used, which was the organic sprouted Pumpkin seeds. I always added Craisins. This is a nice switch up! I love it. It was really fun to see that you use it too! My husband does all of our shopping. He's a retired, Executive Chef. Besides being a good chef, he also specialized in food cost. He knows how to find good quality food at a bargain! I've watched your videos for a couple of years now. I'm very impressed with how well you do you're shopping and keep your food cost down. Job well done! I look forward to each and every video. Love and hugs! 🤗🌻🌾
You mentioned you like all kinds of stews and are trying new ones. Try adding Golden Curry from the Japanese grocery store- we buy one spicy and one mild and use half of each. You just make a stew and then add the curry blocks and service it over rice. It’s our favorite.
After 2 months of looking for jumbo shells, I finally found some last week so I grabbed 2 boxes, have heard other RUclipsrs having problems not finding them as well, great video ❤

If you keep your green onions in that glass of water but on the counter instead of the fridge they won’t wilt like that. The cold wilts them super quickly
Didn’t know if you knew, it looked like u had granulated garlic in the rub. The recipe called for garlic powder. Powder has more flavor since it’s a finer grind than granulated. Thusly, if u use granulated garlic when recipe calls for powder, you may need more to get the same flavor of garlic.

I have noticed that mild green chilies have been rare to find in our stores and it took me forever to find onion powder for a year and if I do they are rare. Have you seen these on a regular basis also rosemary spice was so hard to find they are finally coming in regularly. I am thinking to write down what is rare and order them online instead of fighting with the stores or wondering if I will find it. Love the idea of shopping your shelves, that's so clever. I've got loads of sausages in my freezer for some reason 😆🤷♀️so I should plan some recipes around that!! Did you design your planner? Xx
I'm going to clean and organize my chest freezer today. I have a feeling I will find outdated freezer burned items at the bottom. It will be good to find out what all is in there too.
I want to see more videos on freezers meals and hope you video on cooking everyday for month with no spending and use what you have in pantry and freezers. Someone probley already said that.
Hi Kimmie,I love your meal planning videos they are very helpful,I have the same Sandra Lee cookbook,I love it.You should try the Sauerbraten German pot roast on page 160 its wonderful
I like cooking my ground meat and chicken ahead of time if I know I am going to use it in the next month and freeze it so I can just have it on hand it’s so much easier and faster to make the recipe
Hmmm…I menu plan THEN shop. If I see items on sale that we use frequently I will purchase. I try to keep items on hand to throw a complete meal together - 3 that I can think of off hand.
I don't know if I missed the video but you mentioned you were gonna cook meals using your long term shelf dehydrated food cans and I was really looking forward to that! Is it still in the plans to film that?
I'm new to your channel after the Organizing HQ last week! It was awesome!! I was wondering if you have ever shared your go to recipes for things like your shepherd's pie and corn chowder.
Do you ever use frozen ground beef and then cook into a meal such as lasagna etc..and then re-freeze it. I feel like it should be okay but haven’t done it
It would be so handy having so much food to choose from because we all know this is amazing but I would have serious anxiety that I would have food that would go to waste! 😂
Your son brings home burritos from his job...my 17 year old brings home beef hearts & tongues for us to cook 🤣 They never go to waste but I wouldn't mind if he brought me a burrito just once 😁
Hi wouldn’t it be cheaper for you to make your own Alfredo sauce For your recipe ? . I find the jars have to much salt 🧂 in them for our family . Just asking 😁 . I like making everything from scratch if I can . How do you feel about that ? . I have to admit I have used the jars before till I found out how much salt they have in them . If I’am in a hurry now I will use Rao’s pasta sauce in a pinch , because I feel it’s the closest to fresh homemade. Ty, Sharon
Hello just starting to prep meals ahead of time and also freezer meals. Family of 7 4 picky eaters ,1 vegetarian how do I meal prep free the meal without making two three completely different meals
It must be exhausting trying to keep track of all of this. I would get to the point where I wouldn't buy anything for months and just make my family eat what we already had.

Loved your planner design. Alsolutely practical 👏👏👏
Thank you
Thanks for all the tips
Hi Kimmie,I love your meal planning videos they are very helpful,I have the same Sandra Lee cookbook,I love it.You should try the Sauerbraten German pot roast on page 160 its wonderful
I like cooking my ground meat and chicken ahead of time if I know I am going to use it in the next month and freeze it so I can just have it on hand it’s so much easier and faster to make the recipe
But also make sure your recipe doesn’t need uncooked chicken like in the crock pot
Hmmm…I menu plan THEN shop. If I see items on sale that we use frequently I will purchase. I try to keep items on hand to throw a complete meal together - 3 that I can think of off hand.
Great ideas thanks
I don't know if I missed the video but you mentioned you were gonna cook meals using your long term shelf dehydrated food cans and I was really looking forward to that! Is it still in the plans to film that?
I'm new to your channel after the Organizing HQ last week! It was awesome!! I was wondering if you have ever shared your go to recipes for things like your shepherd's pie and corn chowder.
Do you ever use frozen ground beef and then cook into a meal such as lasagna etc..and then re-freeze it. I feel like it should be okay but haven’t done it
Yes you can freeze it again if you cook it.
@@shesinherapronFantastic, thank you 😊
It would be so handy having so much food to choose from because we all know this is amazing but I would have serious anxiety that I would have food that would go to waste! 😂
Forgot to mention you are the queen of menu planning!
Me too. I do not keep so much food at home. Definitely not so much meat.
There are so many options when I looked at the planners in your description. Which planner are you using?
I heard something elsewhere about Target having the large shells.
Your son brings home burritos from his job...my 17 year old brings home beef hearts & tongues for us to cook 🤣 They never go to waste but I wouldn't mind if he brought me a burrito just once 😁
😄😄👍
I used to bring my dad home pizza and fried chicken and potato wedges. He loved my job.
I learned to shop from my shelves from you! 😊
Ty, Sharon
question: do you carry your planner with you all the time, like to the store and stuff??
Sometimes
was looking at your planner. is it only for 4 months time? that's the way it looks in the description.
I was excited to get your planner but for that much money for only 4 months is not in my budget.
Love this video, so helpful!!
Thank you
Please let us know how the salsa mushroom chicken turns out!
It turned out really yummy!!!
Do you print out your recipes for 2 weeks to have everything in one place?
Hello just starting to prep meals ahead of time and also freezer meals. Family of 7 4 picky eaters ,1 vegetarian how do I meal prep free the meal without making two three completely different meals
Make all the items separate and just add to each plate what everyone will eat
Cookbooks links? I love all your cook books. Cookbooks are my weakness 😫
Your freezer door is usually CHUCK full of ground beef?
Love your cooking recipe vlogs..
What type of fridge is that? Do you have a link or an exact name of it? It seems so spacious!!!!!!!!!!
The biggest
We have this same one. It's the Samsung 28 cu ft Model:RF28R7351SG
Just love when you do these types of videos helps me so much with planning dinners! ❤
I love it. You have the whole house to yourself. Instead of taking a bath and watching a chick flick, you are menu planning
Great video! Where can I order your planner?
It’s in the description box 👍🏻
It must be exhausting trying to keep track of all of this. I would get to the point where I wouldn't buy anything for months and just make my family eat what we already had.
What should we do if we have picky eaters?
