Not always true some trucks were improperly titled and you would have trucks with factory small locks that said they came with a big block so it could have been a mix up in the title
Got 1 recently . No start in 8 years or so. Hot battery installed ,Added 10 gallons of New non-ethanol fuel , primed the fuel pump ,and that 350 rolled over twice and fired rite up! Lot of body rot ,but not unfix-able. its 4x4 and terribly strong. Thanks for the vid.
The TXB on the stamping is a 1975 350. The hei distributor came out in 74-75 as well. Awesome trucks. My Dad bought a 69 C10 4x4 bank repo in 71 or 72 after my brother totaled the Jeep station wagon. Definitely save this truck!
Love your chanel I'm fixing to redo my old 70 C10 I bought when I was 17 I'm 57 now going to restore it for my daughter she's 37 now. You got a great deal on your truck I've been offered 5,000 for mine and turned it down keep up the good work and God bless
Color me jealous! I’d love to have a truck like that. Old school is better then new school all day. Just discovered your channel, and absolutely loving it! Thank you for sharing what you do.
Morning Mr. Stoney Ridge I wanted to tell you and your family have a great thanks giving there,. Today in Alaska at a bout @ we had a 4.5 earth quake ANY WAY YOU HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING. From the great white north Alaska
Happy Thanksgiving Josh. I worked in Mexico back in the mid 80's. I saw a 7-8 year old kid sitting in the engine compartment of a medium sized truck with no hood, feeding the carburetor with a gas can as it was traveling through Tijuana! Your ingenuity is amazing!
I got my 77 gmc in about that same condition. Put a radiator and tires on it and daily drove it for a year. I recommend the rad, electric fan, and some Hella Valuefit LED spotlights. WHOO!
I like your enthusiasm . What I do is drill a hole in the bed floor, out a grommet in it and run the fuel line to the pump through it to a boat fuel can. Sometimes I even strap it down. I often use that set up for the whole time I own the vehicle .6 gallons is plenty for my short trips. I rarely drive so no use putting fuel in the tank and having it evaporate out like it does on old cars and trucks.
I’m jealous! The c10’s are in my opinion some of the best preforming and best looking trucks of all time! I also love the fact that you got a 1969! Good looking! If you want a 1974 f350 custom flatbed, let me know haha!
These are the first modern GM pickup cab design, but they still have nostalgia details like flat side glass and painted metal interior surfaces. '67 to '72 C10 2x4s have full coil spring suspension. Many consider these to be a hot rod with a box on back. These are lighter than newer trucks and respond well to horsepower increases. There are a plethora of aftermarket upgrades for these trucks. These trucks are what the '55-57 Chevy were to older project builders - not that those cars are being forgotten. Yet, for years the C10s were just old farm trucks.
WOW!!! You know how any people would love to have that truck. I would cherry it out in a minute. You have a keeper there. The easy to fix vehicles enabled tradesmen to have a career with a truck that they could fix.
Your truck is a gem in the rough....and I'm a Ford guy. My dad bought a 1969 Chevy C20 from someone who worked for him in 1980. It was a filthy rustbucket with an automatic but it ran great. All that rust on your truck can be replaced. You got a 4 speed with 4 wheel drive....I had an automatic with 2 wheel drive....yours is better. Get it running, fix the rust and you will have a GREAT truck.
In this point in time, the United States car industry went through many changes. The reflectors on the body first came out in '68. The '67 had a slant to the front of the hood. Good luck and keep us in the loop. ✌
I own a mint 1969 C30 , new edelbrock 350 crate motor and the body is mint. Had to check out your video, nothing better than bringing an old truck back to life
I think your right, K10 is the 4x4 version. But no matter I love it. Your livin brother we don’t find treasures like this up in Pa if they’ve been sitting for 15 yrs they are usually to far gone to repair with our weather.
I just bought a simular truck from a guy in one of the Facebook truck groups. Mine is a 70 SWB Farm truck from Central California. She has minimal rust but was used hard on the farm and has a lot of back yard mechanic rigs. I just had is transported to here in NJ. I need to do a quick walk around video before get too much done on it. Good luck with it, hopefully she ends up getting restored.
Missing the old Willy’s Jeep Project - whatever happened to it? The 69 Chevy brought me back. I’m gearing up to work on my dad’s old 72 K20 which he gifted me a year ago. Just got the bed removed so I can start on the cab corners.
The windshield is two pieces of glass with plastic in between. On older cars the glass can de-laminate and look cloudy on the edges. It will never be worth a ton but it looks like an easy fix, for sure worth the time. Bad gas often will not start, but will run an engine.
Some of these 69s have sold for 70,000. There's a company in Michigan that buys them and restores them and sells them for 250,000. That is A LOT! That is a ton of money!
I actually got basically the same truck last week except mine is a long bed. C10 back then applied to 2 and 4WD. The K was only designated for the K15 Blazer. The block V0422TXB V- Flint MI 04- April 22- 22 day TXB- 1975/4brl/350/165HP/Conventional Cab
I had a 1970 C10 3 speed on the tree in high school and was my primary vehicle until I was 31. I should have never sold that truck. Your truck makes me want to find one again.
Yeah be cautious what you wish for,i get the love of the truck too!!was a recovery tank 88 driver during cold war time, sometimes i think dam how come i missed all the action, born just after nam in 62 then was only a teen during korea then got out few yrs after bosnia happened.so yeah my unit went to germany the yr i left.so never fired in support of my life.but its something i can live with never seeing friends dying or killing for sake of killing.amen bothers!!snookie pa.
Earlier this summer i picked up a 72 c20 thats loaded with rare options from eastern illinois and man does it look just like yours, white, covered in barnacles, and a bit of rust. luckily the body panels are cheap!
From every thing I go by v is the plant it was built in 0422 is month and day txb is really the code to Google it tells a lot and also the code on the back tells me it's a 350
You all need to remember it's 51 years old. It's rusted in all the normal places they rust. It's actually a decent truck. Big fan of those trucks I restored a 70. Good luck on fixing her up. I'd recommend a brake booster too.
That a good block 0010 high nickel content .First yr for the 350 .If im correct that a few yrs later belt and accessories but still good .Its in good shape where it counts and they all need rockers etc Keep it, you will be happy you did.
My husband kept a ‘71 short bed that he owned since 1980. We sold it to a restorer for a very small amount of money in 2015. She (!) brought it back completely restored to show us. It was SWEET! But we were kind of sad......
Take the line off from the fuel pump to the tank and blow air back through. The rust may be clogging the tank fitting. The fuel pump may be bad as well. It's got potential as a farm vehicle.
Fix the rocker panels, use a lot of PB blaster and WD40, give it a good pressure wash shoot some primer on it and then clear coat it. I would use it primarily as a farm vehicle and wouldn't even tag it. You're probably right about the fuel mileage. I had a 350 in a 74 Nova bought it new and it would never get above 12 mpg. I would probably go for a new fuel tank for the truck, with all the gunk that's accumulated over the years that would probably be the first major purchase I would do for the truck.
My first vehicle was a '69 C10, green, fleetside, 250 - 6 cylinder and 3 on the tree. I got it in '79 and you would think that a 10 year old truck would still be in great shape. Nope. rusted thru the floor boards, blown engine so I swapped it, still gutless. But I only paid $600 for it including the replacement engine.
I got a 68 C20 longbed sidestep I've been working on and I get parts from both summit racing and lmc truck. Shes rwd and has inline 6 292 4.8 liter engine. Still working the engine up a bit
it is a later 70's/80's frame and running gear with a 2wd c/10 body on top of it. The later model front and rear bumpers are a clue. Plus the date code of the engine backs that up. really cool truck no matter what.
Just pausing to say I love the intro ditty there brother... Feeling that a whole lot, here trying to live free or die in the UK & not accepting the second option!
Love seeing yall mess with old trucks! My husband had a 1964 chevy when I met him in 84, drove it another 20 yrs...we were moving, was still runnin on maybe 4 cylinders out of 8...no brakes, auto tran 1 gear...we gave up and sold, but it hurt.
Yes, ALL of these trucks are worth saving. I'm rebuilding one same year right now. It was built same year I was made. It's a K10 if it was built as a 4wd. Mine is originally a c10 now it's a k30 throttle body 5.7 with sm465 trans and np205 t-case.
I have two 1995 F150s one of which belonged to my father before he passed. I keep saying, I am gonna get that restored! Someday I will - hopefully. 😁 I say keep it get back on the road. - Rick
Yes it is. Just a few weeks ago seen one, fully restored, roll through a Barret & Jackson auction, sold for $120,000. I am partial to 69 Chevys because my mama bought my daddy one for Christmas in 1969. They gave it to me when I got my drivers license. I have one now in the beginning stages of restoration. I gave dad's to my brother. (Ki king myself for that)
Josh, great buy! People don't realize what these trucks are worth, especially running and driving. Unless someone filled in side markers, that's a '67 bed with non '67 trim. Truck was probably pieced together which doesn't really matter unless ur going original. You have the most important parts! I have a rare '67 K10 unrestored with a 327 and 3 on the tree, short wide bed and have never seen another one yet! I hear only the Army and Forestry Service got them and its in good shape! Also have a 13 yr project '72 w/ a 525 HP LS 3 in it that's made a magazine and does very well at car shows. Keep up the good work, drive it or fix it, its all up to you! If u fix it, LMC is going to love you!!!
3970010 was a 350 ci 2/4 bolt main. made from 69 to 80 for Trucks, Passenger cars, Chevelle, Chevy 2, Camaro, Vettes. Various 255-350 were 4 Bolt Mains. With the 145-350 Were 2/4 bolt mains. The 69's were the 255-350 all with 4 bolt mains.
A fifty year old chevy pickup swapped more parts around on them things back in the 80s.but a total beauty. Definitely worth fixing still got my 74 blazer.
That's a K-10! It's had some front fenders or the whole front clip put on it sometime or other. C is two wheel drive, K is four wheel drive. The windshield is probably the original, my Dad's '72 Cheyenne Super did that.
Thats a beautiful truck. I gt a 74 a 79 an 82 chevy truck. . then the misses has a 95 n 97 c1500. Id sure love a late 60s early 70s style like wat ya got. Do enjoy that gem.
Josh windshield has been delaminated. Needs replacement at some point in time. When you replace the gas tank; I would relocate it to a better location.
My first truck was a 1967 Chevy C/10 with an inline 6 cylinder, 3-speed on the collar. It was white, and full of rust. Your video brought back lots of memories. That truck was tough, I bet it's still running somewhere today.
Me too man! My first was a white 1969 C10 in high school. I drove it several years after school too. It was my daily driver for about 10 years. Bought it in 1999 when they were cheap 😂. I had a new white paint job put on it, a new Chevy 350 crate motor, and rebuilt the turbo 350 transmission. It looked like a brand new truck and I only had around 10k in it. It had 4:11 gear 12 bolt rear end so it was pretty powerful 0-60. People used to laugh about his fast the gas gauge would go down on it. You could run around town awhile and literally watch it move lol 😂. But I didn’t care…it was to cool and the chicks loved it! Everybody called it the “ Heavy Chevy”. We raised a lot of hell in that thing out here in the Kentucky backwoods 👍🏻. I’m actually looking for another one now. I’m 38 and having a midlife crisis. Sold my new truck. I’m tired of paying for new trucks that aren’t enjoyable to drive. They got no soul. I’d rather have a cool old truck that’s fun to drive. I miss driving a truck being fun. My plan is to basically make another “ heavy Chevy” accept go with a tremec 5 speed and a 350 with fuel injection. Will probably buy a ZZ6 350 crate engine. It will be quite powerful yet cruise the highway good with the 5 speed and good gear ratio. 3:55 gear would probably be about right. I’m just sick of this new crap man. I can build another 69 that’s nice and reliable for less than a new modern truck
Just finishing welding in new cab corners and rockers on mine. The new body panels can be easily modified to fit correctly, it's not all that hard. Every single piece on that truck is available brand new.
Lol I have one. 1970 2 wheel drive, No power steering, no power brakes, 250 6 cylinder 4 speed on the floor. No radio. No carpet. 103,000 miles. Runs great. I learned to drive with this truck. Only upgrade was radial tires. Rides so much better.
Most 350 blocks had 010 as last numbers . Early 69 4x4 had enclosed u joints on front axle. Definitely a newer engine as original had a different alternator and power steering pump location. I would say original 4x4 as it has rear leaf springs
Happy Thanksgiving Josh, this was awesome! I’m also a truck guy and 67-72 chevys are my favorite GM trucks. That thing is really rough rust wise but if you get the brakes fixed I’d just use it as your farm mule. Thanks for another awesome video,Wooo!
VIN starts with CE. so originally it started as a 2 WD. KE would be 4 WD from factory. Chevy started using C/K designations in. 1960
Methinks that's a cab swap or fenders from a 2wd
I was going to say the same thing
@@rsprockets7846 they never had a shortbed 4x4 without a conversion, the 4x4 were only offered in a longbed and more often a 3/4 ton
Not always true some trucks were improperly titled and you would have trucks with factory small locks that said they came with a big block so it could have been a mix up in the title
No that’s incorrect there were quite a few short bed 4x4s made in 1/2 tons 3/4 were only made with long beds
I had two Blazers from that era, '70 & '72. They are the real deal! Practically industructable!
Always disconnect the old gas or drain the tank before first try or turn over it will save you some major head aches
I have a 72 like this they are the best body chevy ever made. You have the beginnings of a good truck
Yes!!!!! Absoltely worth saving! I want it!

If one has the ability or money to restore it proper. Then most definitely worth saving.

(Ki king myself for that)
Even has the old style of rifle rack in back window .Cool! a bit ragged but still solid.
I have a '79 F-150 that Ive had for a while, and the Swamp Donkey style of Chevy/GMC is another one I want to find. Good find!!!
A fifty year old chevy pickup swapped more parts around on them things back in the 80s.but a total beauty. Definitely worth fixing still got my 74 blazer.
This Truck and the F250 Highboy are my favs
That's a K-10! It's had some front fenders or the whole front clip put on it sometime or other. C is two wheel drive, K is four wheel drive. The windshield is probably the original, my Dad's '72 Cheyenne Super did that.
THREE ON THE TREE Is what most people enjoyed
That's the kind of truck I want. Not like the computers on wheels these days.
@@charlesknaack1042 Great fun.
I want a 71 C10 that’s been LS Swapped. My money won’t let me have it though
We (Dad, brother & I) just restored a '72..... well worth it!!
One of my favorite Generation and series of truck EVER!! Looks like an awesome score!!
It's a keeper Josh restore it will make a great truck for you, something that not everyone has.
All I can say is LMC Trucks, a good welder and see you in the spring. That bed begs to be rebuilt.
Most 350 blocks had 010 as last numbers . Early 69 4x4 had enclosed u joints on front axle. Definitely a newer engine as original had a different alternator and power steering pump location. I would say original 4x4 as it has rear leaf springs
I myself think they look so much better with the stepside bed
Great truck!! You cannot beat them old trucks!!
I'm a Ford man, but that body style Chevy i would ever own. Beautiful styling.
Good clean fun! Enjoyed watching you resurrect this cool truck!
