Derek, my dad and I (from Minot ND) now live in CO, watch you together all the time. He is a lifelong mechanic and had a stroke about 7 years ago and can’t work on cars anymore. We live vicariously through you and I just want to thank you for everything you do for us, and all of the other fellers and fellets out there.

The 327 is getting a little rare, hardly ever see them anymore, everything is either a LS swap or a 350, which ain't a bad thing, but my vote is to rebuild the 327, hop it up a bit and put it back in the truck. A man got to thinkin, and instead of that pine tree holding the hood up, maybe you could use the BEST tool ever invented, "Vice grips", and where the hood hinge folds, you could clamp it closed tight with your vice grips. That way the hinge can't fold, making it impossible to come down on a fella's melon..!! I know you come across this issue countless times, hopefully i've given you a handy hint for the future. I love watching the revivals just like any other feller. But I really enjoy watching the progress on the vehicles. That being said, my vote is the 400 in her. You don’t need to do a revival every week brother. Stay at home with the family and work on the progress of some of the projects. That’s honestly my favorite. You never cease to amaze me.

I was doing about the same thing as you are doing with this old C10 with 1966 version of the same truck, and darn if it didn't have the same problem with the driveshaft hitting the side of the hole through the frame member. Whoever had tried to fix it before that the whole engine and transmission mounted on an angle. Luckily, I found out that there was a crack in the block and gave up on the whole project and sold the shell for 200 bucks. Thanks for taking us through this because it brings back memories. Some of them not so good and some of them great cheers from Toronto again

Good to see you wrenching on a first gen C10. First VGG episode I saw was the white, long stepside with the 454 that you drove out of the scrap yard. I was hooked, as I have had my '66 short stepper since 1992. Rebuild that 327. I was in the process of getting my 327 parts together, until I found a 427. Can't wait to see this one again.

I feel like this truck is the definition of what my Grandfather always says. "You'll have these problems" is what he always said when problems were popping up. And I think this truck fits that idea lol. But I would like to see a rebuild on the 327, and maybe some more history on GM small blocks and such like you did with that 350 boat anchor a while back.

I realize you said you want to do a low budget build on this one, but that is such a nice truck, one of my favorites.
I suggest doing a collaboration on this one and put an end to its tortured existence.
I'd like to see you get this truck mechanically sound, then pass out on to Kevin Tets to do his magic on the body and paint.
You could also get the fellow who's done several of your interiors to help get the inside looking sharp.
