    FINALE TIME!!! What did you think of this season?

  • @brettbaumler754
    @brettbaumler754 6 месяцев назад +353

    Throughout the whole season, Logan has denied any knowledge or involvement the cruises stuff. Him telling Kendall that the waiter was “no real person involved” was the final mail in the coffin that shows us he was absolutely involved. This shows subtle storytelling is so good

    • @barryaran6147
      @barryaran6147 6 месяцев назад +77

      It was already clear that Logan knew about it all in his convo with Rhea in the previous episode.
      The point of him saying "No real person involved" in this episode is to cement in Kendall's mind that his father is an evil person that needs to be stopped. Kendall feels insane guilt about what happened to the waiter, and to see it so nonchalantly dismissed the same way the cruise victims were really affected him. It was this in addition to Logan telling him that he could never become CEO because he's "not a killer" that caused Kendall's decision to turn against his father.

    Greg did mention to Kendall that he made copies of a few key documents in the season 1 finale when Kendall was going around looking for drugs and Kendall called him a "Machiavellian f*ck". That's how Kendall knew Greg had receipts.
    Also, this was a nice full-circle moment to episode 1 of this season where Kendall was pulled out of rehab to go on TV and read the prepared statement from his father about why he pulled out of the deal with Sandy and Stewie. This time, he refused to play along. Tearing up the paper at the end was a nice touch.

    hearing tom say he wonders if the sad he would be without shiv would be less than the sad he is with her was one of the key light bulb moments for me to get out of a bad relationship. Yes, i'd be sad, but I was sad in it too. And I only realised that after hearing it said to me.

    I love the fact that Stewy is low-key like, arguably the smartest and most capable person through the whole show's run, even after we're first introduced to him as just Ken's ultra-wealthy drug buddy/college roommate.

    • @smichelle65
      @smichelle65 4 месяца назад +14

      Unlike Ken, Stewie doesn't let emotions and personal ties cloud his business brain. Although Logan once dismissively referred to him as "My son's college drinking buddy", he clearly respects Stewie and probably wishes Ken were more like him.

Having emotions doesn’t inherently lead to misjudgment it’s an important piece that is inevitable whether a person shows it or not. It’s the ones who understand their emotions, the value and how to use them are the best at making decisions.

    People tend to not really get Shiv and her way of thinking. As a woman tho i completely get her on some points. During the table scene, she doesnt use her emotions : she cant say she doesnt WANT Tom to go to prison, she HAS to think critically and logically bc as a woman in a male dominated field, any emotion is taken as irrationnality. She has to think as much as she can in "logical manners", Tom makes sense on many points, she cannot deny that bc then her opinion would be put aside as the opinion of woman, of a wife. And being able to sit in the table and express her opinion is what she wants above all. Its shitty for Tom, but i get her when she thinks she doesnt operate on the same surface as her brothers. I love her character, i love Tom as well so i get how they both felt in that scene. But she does agree pretty fast lol,

      They do get that. Everyone gets that. Everything you said is the most obvious thing and evidently clear when she says that. But what everyones point is, that you wouldn't and shouldnt as a spouse, risk or push your partner under the bus no matter what. Here she chose to go against Tom just to look logical. Which isnt something worth doing in a marriage. Nothing is above your relationship. Not being seen weak, nor being seen as a biased wife, or whatever. The fact that she wants to "express her opinion at the table above *all*" including her relationship with Tom, is enough a reason for it to be critisized. Its also Intentional writing that describes her character among all the others in the show. They care about power position and money more than they do for relationships and feelings. Which is the biggest reason why the show finale is shocking at first, but satisfying because they all got what they deserved. they are all spoiled narcissistic brats. Shiv most of all

      In S3 it seemed like they had no idea what to do with the "war" plot they set up in S2. We never see Kendall have a moment where it can be believed that he might actually win against Logan. Even after Waystar gets raided by the DOJ, it gets revealed that nothing came from it. From the very first episode we see him act reckless and not listen to the very same people he hired. And then Kendall fires his attorney because the story needed him to. Sure, you can argue that it's within his character to act like this, but I was hoping for some change in an effort to prove his father wrong. Because ultimately, all we got was a repeat of S1, with new insights on his character. But no real development.

    Also, the reason why none of the children didn't readily take the money other than Connor when trying to decide who would take the fall is that they don't value the money anymore; its just money to them now, and they're used to it, it aight they've seen that much before. They want the power, CEO of Waystar Royco... or does being anointed the CEO means that their dad loves them and is proud of them?

    I truely think Logan legit sacrificed himself. He absolutely knew that Kendall would ask him if his father things if he has it to be CEO and with saying "you're no killer" Logan a 100% knew ken would kill him. Just look at Logan's smile. He was so proud

    i think ken realize two things when logan told him to get sacrificed. 1) logan is truly a bad person 2) he would never reveal the accident cause it's just "no real person involved"

      @@gibsonmunyi7225 How are they not in the same genre? They are both set in a post-apocalyptic setting. I just thought the whole found family dynamic was executed so much better in Station Eleven than in TLoU. TLoU was a 6/10 or 7/10 show to me while Station Eleven was 8/10 or 9/10.

    Is Tom secretly an alpha? Remember that he offered to be a blood sacrifice before. He looked scared in the discussion table when his name was put forward and tried to shift the focus on him. But in his defense, so did everybody whose names were spoken.
    Later on, his main gripe with this situation was how Shiv treated him. He finally spoke his mind to her. And then the chicken scene with Logan, he actually never rescinded his offer to be a blood sacrifice. He just gave Logan a taste of his medicine, "boar on the floor" was probably on his mind, too.
    Overall, this seemed like a big win for him. Obviously, we know how the show ends but this was interesting to rewatch with you guys.

    i think shiv DOES love tom, but sometimes love doesn't trump how you were raised/trauma. the way she (and all the roy kids) were raised is on competition and "making plays" and putting each other down, so when it comes to tom and her marriage, that's exactly how she behaves. whenever she feels bested by her father/family, she takes it out on tom to try and gain back some kind of control. i support women's rights AND women's wrongs! i
