Larry, cows, squirrels, rabbits and coons love those hedge apples. We used to use them for bait in our rabbit traps when I was a kid. I kept a shoe box full of them in our well house. As soon as we had a good hard freeze to kill the ticks… I’d carve them into chunks and trap rabbits and squirrels. They worked great! About those cedar logs… if you can get them sawn into 4/4 boards, stickered and stacked in the dry… they’ll be ready to plane and milled within a year. They are one of the few boards that don’t check and split too badly when air dried. That’s a gold mine of great wood! It looks like stomping on an anthill Sunday worked… the Rain Gods accepted it as a Rain Dance! So far, 2 3/4” of good soaking rains. I bet your ponds got a good settling in too… and maybe even a little puddling??
Thanks Dave! Yeah, I've seen different types of critters eating them nasty things, don't know how, but they do. I've pushed out and piled some amazing cedars in the past. I can't get anyone around here to cut them. If they're not gigantic they won't bother with them. As much as we needed the rain, I sure didn't need it until I got all of these ponds cleaned.🤦♂️ I had 3" this morning when I left. Normally that won't put much in them, but some it will.
Hey Larry that track loader has some pushing power you should name it hulk 💪 great job buddy love the channel and always waiting for the next video 📹 👍
there's a bit of a knack to cleaning up small trees and scrubs without damaging the ones that you want to keep, looks good and will make it heaps easier to look after. it's going to be a good bonfire night when they light up the heaps . i think that you need to get some way of getting in touch with you or a web site with a store for doing your merchandise as i haven't seen any anything on your RUclips channel home page for getting stuff like your shirts. might be something that you have to look at 🙂
Thanks JC! Yeah, I wanted to get an idea if anyone would be interested before I went all out and opened up a store. I may have to think about it a little more seriously. Thanks again!
@@Dirtdaddy953 that's alright you could have a look at how j pay does it , just to get some idea, he still has problems sending stuff over seas so maybe just look at keeping it in the states, another Chanel sells through Amazon and has a small shop setup with them , it's not so much for me as I'm overseas but just wanted to give you some ideas
Those lightning struck trees often get weak and unstable and drop those widowmakers. It always seemed easier to destroy trees with a loader than the dozer. Around here you could get massive amounts of maleleuca or australian pine combined with brazillian pepper. They all dump large amounts of seeds so after clearing you better mow regularly or they will be back in a matter of years.
Yeah, you have to be very careful with some of those suckers! Too many times I've had them blow apart when I've touched them with the loader. We have the same problem with the hedges and the locusts trees around here. The dang things will come right back in a couple years. Thanks buddy!!
Those looked like black walnuts in the video. Anyway you should go buy some small air cushion seats. 1 for the bottom and 1 back and 1 each side and just duct tape them in place. You can do a air cushion quality test video.
Hey Ed, I left 99% of the walnuts. He did want some of the smaller ones taken out, then that one big one that was damaged. The loader has an air seat in it, but it's still a rough riding sucker!
That ole dead walnut was close to coming down on its own, I think if you would’ve lean on it to hard it would’ve gone down.😏😁. Good progress on this vid, it looks really dry, you not having much rain still? Cedars would make some decent lumber to work with. Thanks for the ride along sir
Ya know, I've enjoyed seeing you do this many times and have to ask do the ARBORISTS (tree cutters) just look for work away from the large average with many trees? BTW, one must see channel for me is "AUGUST HUNICKIE" (Arborist) and the guy is fantastic! Your "953" is the answer to his CRANE! Gotta LOVE IT! Play safely!
SONNNNY! Where have ya been buddy! Shoot, I thought I ran ya off or something.😁 The loggers in our area want a large amount of trees before they'll come out. They tend to be very picky sometimes. Thanks buddy!
i believe a tracked skid steer is rougher riding than a track loader. just because the tracks to ground contact is so much shorter. We just got a kubota 97-2 i hate it i will stick to running the case 850 track loader.
Good morning Larry, how much land do you think you cleared here? I have watched all of your videos and that's the one thing I always am trying to figure out.

looks like them trees were coming out easy. Super dry up here in Northeast Missouri. looks the same down there.
Yeah, they would come out east or snap off. It’s super dry down here as well!

Man I don’t know. The rear engine loaders are rougher than crap! Most of the time it’s a sharp bang! Every time it happens my back just cringes!
Id have to agree w mr dd on this one , lot more weight w the tracked loader n a sharper boom on ur body , but all depends what ur running over

Its going to be hard to guess because it's so scattered. I would say all in all by the time im done, around 3 acres. Thanks!
