- I attempted a Pokemon HeartGold Hardcore Nuzlocke where only INACCURATE Moves are allowed. This means that a move MUST have an accuracy lower than 100%, and bans any move that can't miss - including moves that bypass accuracy checks (like Swift) and setup moves (like Swords Dance, Reflect, and Synthesis). GOTTA HAVE A CHANCE TO MISS. HMs are allowed in the overworld, but I can't use them in battle.

The Hardcore Nuzlocke rules for this challenge:
1. Only catch the first Pokemon on each route. (Duplicates Clause: If my first encounter is a duplicate, I can re-roll).
2. If a Pokemon faints, it must be boxed for the rest of the run.
3. No over-leveling above the gym leader's highest level (use Karen's ace for E4).
4. No items in battle.
5. Play on Set Mode.
6. Only inaccurate moves.

Okay, stickler time:
With Compound Eyes, some of Butterfree's other moves become 100% accurate, like the Tackle used in Whitney's gym battle
You know, that’s super fair and idk why I didn’t realize that lol. I looked back and thankfully Tackle was the only move that ended up being >100% (I mostly kept 75% accurate status moves). But I appreciate the callout - shouldn’t have been able to use Tackle in the Whitney fight!

Ok double stickler time, compoundeyes is a 1.3x multiplier on accuracy so we’re really looking at a 123.5% accurate tackle which is not technically the banned 100% 👀 nuzlocke is saved run still counts

I like this kind of nuzlockes, i think RUclips is currently overloaded with monotype nuzlockes so this ones are really refreshing, keep it up!
Something I thought was notable is that bruno's machamp has the ability no guard, which affects both sides of the field-making it impossible to miss. Not sure how that'd affect the run since you didn't factor in other things the opponent could do (like Sand attack and double team) on your move choice either, but I thought it was worth bringing up.
I suppose it's perfectly legal, since it was the opponent who had the ability that guaranteed every move hits, and there's nothing the player can do about it. Perhaps as long as the player isn't intentionally trying to take advantage of it with a move like Sheer Cold, it's fine. (And, I'd honestly be okay with seeing a OHKO move used against that Machamp myself.)

This is a really neat run idea, love it!
This is a super creative challenge and I love seeing underrated mons like Jumpluff and Dewgong get some use. Dewgong has carried me through the HGSS E4 many times.
This accuracy nuzlocke was great, would love to see a part 2 with kanto or another game with this nuzlocke format!
Focus Miss always seems to mess me up when I try to put it on a Pokemon. Even if there are or were any Pokemon with the combination of Compound Eyes and Wide Lens that can learn it, I'm sure it would still miss a Lot of the time.
This is a really interesting run! There are sooo many moves with 95% and less accuracy. I guess the whole accuracy thing compensates for some of the less-accurate moves having much higher power than lower-power but perfectly accurate counterparts (ie. Fire Blast vs Flamethrower..)
Actually, if you have both Compound Eyes and Wide Lens combined, then a 70% accurate move would become 100.1% accurate. (I've done this before with Galvantula and Thunder. Compound Eyes by itself makes Thunder 91% accurate, and then the Wide Lens boosts it up to 100.1%.)
@@SomeGuy712x i don't think that's actually how it works out. I'm pretty sure both buffs apply to the move's base accuracy, making 98% accurate, which while close, is not 100%. I think I once missed a hurricane with both compound eyes and wide lens on a vivillon, but who knows I might be wrong.

Love the idea for the challenge. I think another good one could be using only really slow Pokémon (maybe 40 base speed and below) so that you always have to deal with the opponent going first

I had this idea a few months ago but then thought, "nah, someone would have to be insane to actually try that" and here we are!
My most hated used move is play rough, 90% accurate, more like 90% to miss.
So true. Play Rough feels like it has less accuracy than it says it has.
Not the worst offender for inaccurate move, but while doing a full dex challenge of sword, I had a blaziken in front and accidentally ran into a swinub. So obviously, I blaze kicked the sorry thing to next Tuesday. That's how it should have gone until it missed. Then it hit me with a blizzard, not too lucky. But then the same interaction happens again on the next turn, a miss into a blizzard. So I get pissed but I think to myself "Blaze kick is 90% accurate while Blizzard is only 70%. There's no way this happens again." I missed, and the tiny pig knocks out my professional kickboxing chicken with three blizzards.
If it's snowing, Blizzard is 100% accurate

Awesome vid! Not sure if you’ve done this but it kind of reminds me of those metronome only runs where it’s literally up to chance. And a deli bird that uses present bc it’s also by chance. I think those two combined with one hit KO only moves would make a funny and probably impossible run!

Somehow, I always miss Fly. My Empoleon hits Hydro Cannon about 3x as much as my Staraptor hits Fly on my original Diamond save file.
For some reason, I always have good luck with iron tail, even though it's only 75%. But I've only hit Hydro Pump like twice in my life

I'm pretty sure compound eyes tackle is over 100% accurate.

This was a lot more interesting than I expected, at first I was like, oh its the same but his moves will miss sometimes, but the limitations on movepool and pokemon you can use becuase of not having inaccurate moves makes it really interesting
I swear I miss toxic (90%) more often than hydro pump, thunder, or anything like that.
When playing Pokemon Showdown oddly it's enough it's draco meteor that manages to screw me. Love the deceptive 90% acc moves.

Some people may think that using Tackle breaks the rules.
And on Butterfree it does, but on other mons no. Because pre-gen 5, tackle is only 95% accurate, minus the 1/256 glitch of gen 1

I always love your refreshing and fun challenge videos (albeit i am a bit late to them sometimes)!! The inaccurate move that always messes with me most is Draco Meteor. I've only ever used it once on an actual, serious, non-casual team and it went horribly wrong.
I needed a strong dragon move that wasn't Dragon Pulse in case I needed a higher damage option on my specs mon, and I only had 1 other option besides Dragon Pulse. I only hit Draco Meteor *_ONCE_* and statistically that should not happen
Also same with Hurricane. I hate Hurricane

I do competitive battles so Focus -Blast- Miss is the obvious choice for moves that mess me up, but the true evil is Volcanions 95% accurate Steam Eruption. I hate it so much

Sing's probably the inaccurate move that's screwed me up the most. I'm lucky if it lands once per 10 attempts.

that run was brutal... relying on these moves sure is risky. fortunately the inaccurate moves are bad for both you and the characters of the game! besides they use so many times the most powerful moves of the game.

I have fantastic luck with fire blast, thunder, blizzard, etc. I basically never miss. But my casual reliance on will o wisp all the time will probably eventually cause me regret
Dual Wingbeat has often cost me more games than even FOCUS BLAST.

Missed opportunity to use a Pokémon with the Hustle ability. With it, ANY physical attack (except Aerial Ace and Faint Attack) would be legal. The Pokémon that get this in Gen 4 are the Togepi line, Delibird, Corsola, and Remoraid. Most of Corsola's physical moves are already low-accuracy anyway, Delibird sucks, and Remoraid loses Hustle when it evolves (and can learn the fewest physical moves of all of these). That just leaves the Togepi line.
Would you allow 100% accuracy moves on a pokemon with Hustle?
I remember thinking the 1HKO moves had such amazing animations back in Gen 3. SCold and Fissure were insane to watch every time they actually worked. Sometimes 5/5 sometimes 0/500. Ah Pokemon logic. Lmao

Well, it was asked for so here we go. *I. Hate. Focus Blast.* Be it in Pokémon Black being used by my scrafty against grimsley, Be it in Pokémon showdown, Be it IN ANYTHING. Focus Blast ALWAYS MISSES. Out the top of my head, I can remember 10 times I tried using it, and only one of those it didn’t miss. So ironic a move with the word “FO-CU-S” in it to be so GOD-DAMN inaccurate

The only literal reason is that either that is the only fighting move the Pokémon learns or that Pokémon desperately needs the higher damage range. Alternatively, the Pokémon is a Machamp with No Guard.
Otherwise, there is no reason.
