I think it's interesting that almost every Gym leader in Johto is structured to be strong against the next one, Falkner has the advantage on Bugsy, Chuck has the advantage on Jasmine, Pryce has it on Clair, and so on. Even the Elite 4 almost follows this as Will beats Koga, then Bruno beats Karen. This was a pretty fun idea Joe!
You know, it is a crazy realization that every Johto leader except Bugsy has a type advantage of some kind. Whitney having immunity to ghosts and the rest having super effective stab on the following leader.
I just started watching a bunch of nuzlocke videos. I have to say you and flygon are by far my favorites. You’re great at narrating and while I enjoy the gameplay that’s what keeps my attention. Love your vids
That means a lot to be put in with flygon. He’s actually the reason my channel exists. A few years ago I came across his channel and after binging so many videos, I decided to try it too. I had never done a nuzlocke before, but now it’s like all I do!
this should be a series, but for future generations maybe have it follow a set of rules, the 1st attempt is their exact team, the 2nd is the exact pokemon but leveled to match the caps, then if that cant win your able to change moves items etc
@@manjusahoo4956 chikorita is the cutest and is only considered bad due to the gyms it has to go against put it in Kanto and it would obviously be a better pick then Totodile or Cyndaquil, guess because Charmander struggles against Brock and Misty that makes Charmander a bad starter
I think this has series potential! Though you may have to relax the "Hardcore" rules a but and potentially over level if you have severe disadvantages...but it looks really fun!
You should do this challenge again but only keep the ace pokemon. For example you keep pidgetto and when you face bugsy you keep scyther. And when you face Whitney you can use both pigetto and scyther and once you have more than 6 members you can swap through them for the next gym

@@NuzlockeJoe I used the steal Pokemon code. But it only let you steal one Pokemon then ended the battle. So I would fight them until the Mon I wanted came out, then steal it. In the postgame rematches I used the repeat battle code and battled the gym leaders repeatedly until I caught the entire team's of all 16 gym leaders!
Hitmonlee did not have blaze kick in the remakes of gen 2 hes my fav fighting type I should know considering he doesn't learn that move whatsoever from lvling it meens u used a tm on em
How is stomp able to hit ghosts? Isn't stomp a normal move? And aren't normal moves ineffective against ghosts? 🤔 Also, comments are good for the RUclips algorithm

10:40 ??! A delibird? That ice type who only has ‘present’ as a move that has a chance of either healing your foe or doing damage, that if I remember right is normal type..? Yeah, it’d just make his gym easier to beat.. And even though it’s a ice gym, doesn’t mean the leader should actually have all ice types, as unlike the show, in these games, their Pokémon don’t easily beat type advantage and a gym needs that not type themed surprise to help keep one on their toes some. Plus, it’s a non ice type but an early form of dewgong, an actual ice type so… It’s not a completely random basic water type. They need more games where the gym leader has that one special, not so gym type themed mon; and at least seem like they are trying to dodge a player managing to get an easy gym sweep with the right Pokémon lol… Sneasel, less it has Ice Punch via egg move or teaching… It ain’t no big ice threat… Next to no special Atk and only learned physical ice move a priority Ice Shard… Plus sneasel is already insanely fast so, the priority changes lil imo, but a weak move… So it’d be *if you ask me* a super weak addition.
Sure Delibird only learns present naturally, but there are plenty of TMs he can use. And I get having a Pokémon whole isn’t necessarily the type of the gym leader, but IMO that only works if it’s not the base form of a pokemon they already have. Having a seal and dewgong seems stupid to me
I think it's really funny that people complain that Johto pokemon suck, the Johto gym leaders suck, but then say the way to fix the gym leaders is to give them the shitty Johto pokemon. Seel in theory is great for Pryce because it being a water type would surprise and mess with people leading with fire/rock types to beat ice types. Seel sucks and is too weak to actually do that but it's still better than Delibird or Sneasel which are both gonna die instantly to quilava flame wheel or graveler rock throw

My main issue is the surprising lack of Johto Pokémon for the Johto leaders. Only half of the Johto leaders even have a Johto Pokemon, and the ones that do have a single one. Could have been a great opportunity to introduce newer pokemon. Even a hoothoot against falker would be OK

28:54 I traded off a bunch of first- generation Exodia I had three sets and just miscellaneous pieces I had many jurors agreed I had so many cards are worth so much and it went down when the prices were really good and what not and the guys like yeah I'll give you 20 bucks for the whole set of Exodia just one set of and I was thinking I was like I can't get away whenever play music will go do it then fucking I go to beat up at the other store and I get over $3,000 I was like I told you you were trying to rip me off

The Scyther should have been female going into the 3rd gym! the attract got you the first time.
Yeah, there were a number of genders I messed up, it just so happened that scyther was one of the few important ones

It'd need to have a different ID number for that to work, so you'd essentially have a Level 100 "traded" Pokémon for the entire game.

Not using items in battle would mean no held items. Although I like the video concept. That's a hang up for me.
No, it does not. That's a pretty standard rule that means not using the bag in battle, so no healing potions, status heals, and no X-items.
Literally never seen anybody not use held items when following that rule
