wait, the Kagero aint a tier VIII but a tier IX destroyer and the ship that had SHITLOADS of tubes is the Kitakami torpedo cruiser.
Best way to dodge torpedoes is to turn into them.
fligtOFstairs If you can see which way they aimed their torpedoes, you can react in different ways depending on which way you want to go. If they launched them short, you can just keep sailing across them before they get to you (maybe turn parallel at the last moment to help your tail get out of the way). If they lauched them long, you can slow down and turn into them. You're usually going towards your enemy and not away, but turning away from torpedoes is very similar to turning towards them.
Turning from torpedoes exposes your ship to them more. And having your stern take the brunt of the volley will lead to loss of engines. Now this tactic applies more to larger ships.
fligtOFstairs Yeah, I guess that's true. I'm just saying if you're a small fast ship, you can squeeze between two torpedoes by sailing into them or sailing away from them, and not take any hits.
fligtOFstairs when you are sailing away from the torpedoes turning into them will expose your ship more. Just turn to the side that reduces your exposure.
Well of course, I was referring to the most common torpedo situation. That being a broadside volley.
The Destroyers are my favorite class of ship in the game to play. The quick maneuvering power makes me feel a little free in my engagement options.

so far i realy love the game because the grinding isnt to crazy,when i play for a couple hours i can see progress unlock new ship and have fun,that make me wanna spend some money on the game for premium and more ship slot,but i know when you release the game it would probably take 2years to unlock a tier 10 so ill be gone by that time its the main reason why i think a lot of people dont play wots.when you work 40hrs a week pplus all the other thing to do apart from video game,you dont wanna spend 200hrs just to unlock 1 tank,thx you for keeping the grinding reasonnable

OK that last bit about point blank with torpedo is wrong! it does work very well you can be much closer than in this video.
Most ships use missiles in the place of torpedoes these days but the only real advantage is that missiles can seek targets far inland.
I just want to play this game so bad can't wait till i can..

***** American DDs have good guns to compensate for their bad torpedoes. IJN DDs have terrible gun to compensate for their good torpedoes. Seems fair to me.
***** I´m ok with having bad topedoes, but 5.5km range is just too low, I would be ok with 6.5 or 7km though.
***** higher teirs get a little higher. Teir 7 Mahan stock is 4.5 but up to 6.4 with upgrade. They cant make it comparable to IJN torps because IJN were known for their longer range long lance torps
***** American torpedoes were pretty crap in real life so its reflected in game, stop whining its history.

Can you explain why ships that historically didn't have in combat reloads like DD's get relatively short reloads and ships that historically did reload like IJN CA lines have horrible reload times
When will ships of other nations such as the Royal Navy and Kriegsmarine be introduce?
They should update some of these videos. Some of them are outdated with the new game versions.

Im new to this game why do wows had no tutorial mode like other game have I like the game but no idea how to play this like what should I press when releasing smoke screen , torpedoes and others
What about torpedo detection range?
For God's Sake:
1. DON'T NAVIGATE IN BINOCULAR MODE. You don't see the torpedoes coming.
2. Put attention to who is near the ship you are launching the torpedoes at. If a fellow ships is fighting an enemy and you will launch torpedoes, launch them behind your fleet mate.
3. If someone launches torpedoes, be careful with the direction. Someone could have launched them hoping to hit an enemy you made move in other way.

Unlikely as there now excepting anyone willing to pay. If I was running the company why let someone play for free when someone else is willing to pay £15 or more for a beta key. That's how I got in I bought the triple pack. Tbh well worth it and not badly priced as the set was less than a standard AAA title

If you buy a ship you get in. All you have to do is register with world of warships, buy it refresh the home page of the website and download game will become unlocked. It's a large game so might take awhile to drop to your computer but like i said it's totally worth it

alexandre ji when you see a torpedo salvo, turn towards it, that way you have a higher chance of dodging it.

krucafuks123 Some are, some arent. Depends on the nation and armor. The Shimikaze for example, best armor of any carrier, once introduced, will have mobility similar to the yamato, as it is the same hull/armor.
Crookedstar ehm... I dont know about any IJN carrier named Shimikaze, and if you were talking about Shimakaze then I have to tell you that shimakaze is a destroyer,not a CV ;)

U can but one premium ship and u can get into the beta. It's well worth it I've put about 60 hours into the game and I'm up to tier 7 nagato battleship! Go buy a premium ship you will not regret it

Is there anyway to adjust torpedo depth so they can pass under low weight allies and hit heavier enemy?

bearsfan97 Then they need to buff dive bombers considerably, since they suck major balls at the current state.
bearsfan97 yea, they can, there is still the arming delay, and frankly, its not like its a hidden attack, you should see the torpedo bombers coming from atleast 5km away if not much more the that. Start evading the torpedoes before they are even dropped if your in a slow ship. This can be done by pointing your ship at the incoming torpedo bombers.

Just played a round a few seconds ago with my amagi Got a full torpedo bomber hit ... the torpedos were dropped around 100meters beside my ship got killed after 5 min ingame this is way to OP
Ketsueki saiko Yes, and did the bombers appear in your vision just 100 meters away? was that where the bombers were detected? or were they detected long before that, where you would of seen they were heading towards you?

kaziqse "No more than September 5th' i think or a similar quote... it sucks cause i'll be going in College this Oktober and it's kinda annoying, they invited people in who exposed their game while i have some fair experience from other close alphas. Damn !

The auto lead thing is a no skill required insta-gratification pile of garbage.
Tell me, when you are changing direction in a slow ass battleship, that..in matter of fact, is facing over a dozen torps in a spread...how are you supposed to dodge that exactly? Oh I know, typical response coming "don't play battleships"
Damion Rayne As a battleship you are a huge fortress that relies on its team. You must stick with your team and prevent too many torpedoes bombers and torpedo boats from getting to your ship.

Damion Rayne It's actually quite obvious when a Destroyer is lining up for its torpedo run. When the destroyer comes at a somewhat parallel angle to you, you have two choices, either turn into the torpedoes or turn away. A destroyer won't be able to get too close to a BB to prevent it from at least minimizing the damage (thanks to the secondary guns... Which sometimes prove to be worthless). Either way, playing as a BB means that you're willing to take a few torpedo hits.
ValorODST But when a previously unspotted destroyer comes around a corner an immediately launches all of his torpedoes, you're f*cked.
