With Pensacola move to tier 6 which is dramatically give her advantage on tier 5 to tier 8 as her gun can pack a punch to any ship that dare showing there broadsides

Pensacola has good armor? In which universe? That thing is made from wet tissue paper (and gets not just beaten by Cleveland, it gets demolished by it).
Barcel thats not hard. The Cleveland is as balanced as the T54 shooting HEAT. in a straight 1v1 i lost in my new orleans to a cleveland spamming HE. Its just not blanced at all. But the Pensacola is stil not a bad ship. I like it more then the tier 8 wich sucks even more in my opinion :D
Greifer 95 Yup. I still don't get how I am not doing full damage with AP shots from my new orleans yet im doing d**k with HE (against Cleveland of course)
@@greifer3866 for me the New orleans which is now on tier 7 is the best us cruiser i had till now and much better than the Pensacola.

1 year later, and yeah Cruisers on their own are now more of a pain in the neck than ever.
Pensacola can be useful for,long range artillery battles
The Pepsi has crappy armor but decent speed and good guns

i have onluy been playing 5 days bit done the japanese cruiser line that is also fairly tatesy up to tier 7, 10 * 6 inch guns very nice
i like to call the St louis my personal full auto machinegun, when fully upgraded you can literally fire one shot/second into infinity
It's still my favourite ship in the game. It's my go-to for fun, when I'm not trying to level up. As most battleships are faster though, if you encounter one; you're screwed. I love the way everyone underestimates you, lol. 'Till they see you bearing down on them; where you actually look like a battleship-which is quite intimidating. It's pretty much a pocket battleship.

Maybe one day they will even make the IJN destroyers after tier 5 playable/competitive!
Ostfront1942 I said destroyer, not cruiser. I love the IJN cruisers (though I haven't yet reached the Zao). Destroyers like the Mutsuki and Kagerou are just plain crap ingame and ships like the Fubuki have a lower top speed than their real life counterpart which makes chasing people extremely frustrating. Their guns are also crap, which becomes more noticable at higher tiers when US DD get better torps, whilst the IJN DD still have the same crap guns, which makes IJN DD less usefull at higher tiers and throws the balance off in favour of the US DD.
The Hungry Wolf 足柄 Oh damn,my bad... I have no idea how my brain made "cruiser "out of your "destroyer"...... But yes,you are right about them. Loved the minekaze,but then the Mutsuki happened... I personally hate slow torps,everything below 60 knots is too slow in my opinion. Having the 10km range with the upgrade doesnt help me much either,because i prefer to get as close as possible anyway in order to maximize the chance to hit.Thats why the Minekazes stock torps with 7km range and 68knots speed where so much fun for me.. Sadly the Mutsuki doesnt have these anymore.Not to mention the turret traverse that takes ages,even with the upgrade for 15% faster turn time + captain skill to increase rotation by 2,5 degree per sec.
Right now i am at the Hatsuharu,and at least the traverse is better with 25 secs + captain skill,and the torps go up to 62 knots too,so theres that at least.Still i just cant do very good in this DD,even tho i cant say for sure what the reason for that is...Fubuki seems not much like an upgrade,getting 15 km range torps but with slow speed again..... also stock turrets turn slower again,need to get the upgrade first....Oh yeah,and 35 knot top speed....Kagero seems to be the first good DD after the minekaze,having 20km range torps with nice speed of 67 knots and high 20k max damage.But guess what,the turrets only turn with 36 degree per sec...no upgrade to research and lower that like on the fubuki....also still 35 knot top speed...And then the Shimakaze,this at least looks like a competent ship again..But it will take some time for me to get there....

The Hungry Wolf 足柄 Shimakaze is pretty good for here tier, thanks to her torpedoes and insane mobility and speed profile.
But that isn't much comfort when you have to grind through 4 tiers of average-bad destroyers to get her...

well i would say that St.louis for sure and at some point phenix are 2 best cruisers at least until 9th tier. the bigest mistake is St.Carolina.Well its only mine opinion...

Do your research! Pre-WWII cruisers, particularly the "Heavy" class (an invention due to a naval treaty) were hobbled by that self-same treaty and severely limited in tonnage per ship. You had the choice of "light armour and heavy armament" , "heavy armour and reduced armament" or a "happy medium" that made no one happy! British heavies were notorious for their light armour and the "Treaty classes" of the U.S. Navy were jokingly called "tin-clads". Many assume that the Japanese intentionally ignored the treaties that they had originally signed, in order to build cruisers in excess of the treaty regulations. While some "fudging" of figures was obvious, a great deal of that surplus weight was a surprise even to the Japanese Navy as it made their ships slower than expected and that is EXACTLY what they did NOT want. What the treaties did not address was torpedoes. This the Japanese proved masters at, initially, but this did prove to be a "double-edged sword" (several Japanese ships were disabled by explosions of their own torpedoes) . Oddly, the creators of the "Long Lance" were eventually devastated by (largely) American torpedoes once the U.S. Navy Brass woke up and realized that it was the weapon itself, and not the submarine Commander that was at fault.

It's "Deh-moin" phonetically, NOT "Day-moin". I'm from Iowa and I am somewhat annoyed that a ship named after our state capital is pronounced wrong. Good video though.
It's French, so I'd expect most English speakers would pronounce it wrong. I actually thought he got pretty close.

I hated to play with the american cruisers, they are slow, are huge target and don't make enough damage. But maybe it becomes better with higher tier ships
