I was looking for a hunting knife that lasts for a long time and doesn't rust. Finally, I got the knife that met my expectations. This knife doesn't rust for 2 years. I am very glad the blade is the same sharp as the first day it was. I bought it from Alf Knives and am thinking about buying another one for my little brother.

I agree with David Leavy, the ratio between the blade and the tang is not good, Bowie knife is not just for slicing or stabing but also slashing. Use this poor knife for slashing dry old thick bamboos, trust me, it will be broken. By using D2 steel u can make wider and stronger tang and will be a great functional knife. D2 steel is as good as Bohler K110 or SKD11 steel and will make a good knife.

@@SkillSpotter for slashing or Bowie knife, i think SUP9A will be great too even if u use a hidden tang as long the tang is not stick and more wider and than put some pins on it. With water quenching just half part of the blade and not quench the whole part of it especially the tang, the hardness and the toughness will be good and nice for a multipurpose knife like a bowie style knife. Happy Ramadhan, regards from Indonesia🙏

I would order IF: 1) The knife had a traditional handle made of iron mesquite wood; 2) The handle was a full tang (not welded) and revered; 3) The clip point of the blade was a bit thicker at the end to prevent breaking off / prevent snapping off, and sharpened to provide a back cut while slashing with the back of blade; 4) Do not put a fuller on it, just a straight blade; 5) Knife be made of 1075 high carbon steel with a 10" blade, 5" handle; 6) handle sweeps and curves to a rounded knob at end like that of a pirates cutlass; 7) cross guard to be of a bracket shape as this "]" to catch opponents blades, lock and twist; 8) An extra bonus would be for the blade to be blackened and matte in the final quenching process, having absolutely no shine, looking very primitive in every respect from butt to point; 9) Capable of any camp chore; 10) Beefy and balanced and rugged to baton with as well as throw. Please let me know if you can make such a knife with these specifications. Great job. Nice work. I'm interested in buying one.

@@SkillSpotter I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but as an avid knife collector and knife enthusiast, somebody who is trained and knife fighting as well, a tang that small is dangerous with the overall strength and stability of the knife. It also keeps that knife incredibly front heavy. And I could never trust that if I hit something very hard with it out in the field, that handle would not come loose or just come off completely. Anybody who knows anything about knives, we refuse to buy anything that is that small or tang that is welded on.
No I’m not a knife maker. But I do use them in training for fighting as well as being an outdoorsman. I use them more than most. So this is my opinion based upon almost 50 years of experience.

So many horrible errors. Cutting off the tang then welding one on was criminal. Quenching in water too. Come on. All the people saying “beautiful work” and “you are a master” know nothing about metallurgy or knife smithing.

That sucks. Could have been a fine blade, but you know 10 more minutes and 4 more inches of steel and a full tang that wouldn't break. But oh well, people will pay for cheap stuff over somthing thatll hold up.
