    He did a respectable job, initially, as we were in a bit of a state when he took over. He got the players to really buy into being an actual team, instead of just a bunch of players from their respective teams that kept to their own. Maybe if he hadn't stayed for so long, we would be given him his flowers. But we've got such a great pool of talent now, especially attacking wise, and he never made the most of it. He was far too conservative of a manager, as well as not being great tactically. We need a manager now who is going to be brave and can build on the foundation that Southgate has laid.

    If you love how Southgate operated, then Potter is an easy answer who is of the same temperament & significantly more tactical astute. I've watched Potter outclass better teams time and time again in the PL but then the question would be, would he ever have the kind of runs Southgate had in tournaments? And i don't know how many times you can be lucky in tournaments. Obviously Eddie Howe but i don't think he leaves Newcastle for England

      Potter would be better than Southgate and is feasible. Not sure if he’s what we need though.

    International football is not something that has pull. Unless you’re German or Italian of course, they seem to get top managers for a bit. But any other international team can’t go and get the biggest and best coaches around. They don’t have the time to work with the players and do their best work.

    • @ven5501
      @ven5501 Месяц назад

      Germany and Italy have top managers because there are a lot of great managers in their countries, that's why everytime someone take the job, maybe other top.clubs already have top coaches so someone must take the opportunity

    Not a single England player controls the game for a top club, people need to stop saying Bellingham, Foden etc. They’re match winners. Kroos controls the game for Madrid, Rodri for City. For Arsenal Rice is at his best with Juninho. Maino or Wharton need to become that, but neither are close just now

    Eddie Howe would be great intensity and press. But I would rather him have a career at Newcastle first just to really see what he's got and where he could take them. If he left Newcastle, I'd feel sorry for the club, and I'd be a bit worried for england cause it could be a premature move, and he would have gone in there, not really for filling his club potential.
    Gerrard, like it or not. He is the only English manager with a league title, lol. So maybe there's something there.
    I'd only take Potter if it's Brighton Potter, and I feel chelsea really showed us working with more quality, ruined his reputation.
    Lampard is not ready he needs a career under his belt.
    Klopp is tired and needs a break he pushed himself too much with liverpool. Plus, club to international is very different, klopp would never hear the end of it being German managing England.
    Dyche defensive but maybe more attacking than southgate. He definitely would be a more kick up the backside manager. But maybe not that great.

    • @9k49
      @9k49 Месяц назад +2

      Howe and Gerrard won’t leave their current clubs.
      Potter would be good but he’s similar to Southgate (defensive and possession) so the style of play, which needs improvement, might not change a lot.
      Lampard and Dyche are good but I don’t see them winning a trophy. Also I don’t think Dyche will leave Everton. And I don’t think Klopp will agree to manage England.
      I think realistically it’s Potter, Carsley, Pochettino or Tuchel (in descending order of likeliness).
