    I have to ask,.. what happens when the weather acts up!? I would have to imagine one unanticipated windy rainstorm would pretty much be the end of most everything real soon!! And frankly,.. there are some real jerks in this world who would just walk up and take stuff. I know people like to show what they have done to a properly impressed public but once the physical address location is out in the world today,.. I just know this would discourage me to worry about such things and what can be done to prevent them. *But I do so enjoy seeing them here so thanks!!*

    • @TriGogglin
      @TriGogglin  2 года назад +1

      Hey David thanks for watching, and yes your concerns are valid to no end as I often wondered that my self. I talked with a few of the owners and some of the other visitors, some people have train sheds that they pull all there rolling stock and engines into and lock them up, some take it into the house one piece at a time. As far as the trackage and accessories most leave them out and hope for the best as far as thievery and weather. And if the snow and rain damages any thing they tend it like a vegetable garden fixing and weeding and such most have had very little vandalism, mostly weather problems. Hope that helps with your comment, I do appreciate you watching and asking this great question, please enjoy my channel and leave other comments. Thank you... pappy

      @@TriGogglin Now let's see if you can answer this question. Why are Model Railroads so immensely satisfying? ... and particularly for men?
      How would you explain the function of Model Railroads that justifies all the time, money, and effort that goes into them to say,... a Vulcan?... or even me, for that matter?

    • @TriGogglin
      @TriGogglin  2 года назад +1

      @@davidhunt7427 well David i think this answer would depend on the person your asking but what I think is.... man's need to accomplish something, or say hey look what I did. Kinda fits the bill a bit. We must always be tinkering. This hobby is like the car guy who knows the ins and outs of every car, or the sports nut, it's the hands on, the feeling of accomplishment, the look what I can do aspect, maybe the every kids dream of im gonna drive a train when I grow up... and this is that way of fulfilling that dream. You technically can't justify the expense that goes into it, but you work hard for your money and I'm gonna spend it how I want mentality takes over. Or the excuse you give the wife, well honey it keeps me home and out of trouble. Thanks again for the question Dave. Not sure this is everyone's answer, but I bet it's close.

    • @davidhunt7427
      @davidhunt7427 2 года назад +1

      @@TriGogglin Perhaps you've answer why modelers build their layouts,.. but then why do others, such as myself, vicariously enjoy then so much?!? Also,.. why do men find such satisfaction in model railroading while the women look at us with wry bemusement. Perhaps they make babies and we make fantasies and dreams? But just what is it that men fantasize and dream about when designing and building a model railroad anyway?
      I am autistic,.. so I ask _pertinent_ questions,.. such as _Is there _*_free will_*_ in the afterlife?_ It's an interesting way to live.

    • @TriGogglin
      @TriGogglin  2 года назад +1

      Hey there Dave, I think you answered your own question in part. Men fantasize about every thing and mostly the things they can't have or do. So if we can't own a railroad we're going to build one. Plus we like doing tasks. we must always be doing something and modeling fits that bill. And women will always wonder what the hell is wrong with us 🤣 but we don't under stand them either. Lol. I can look at a model for hours and see something I've not seen before, like the train shows sometimes I'm there till they close just looking at the layouts in shear fascinating. Maybe its wishing I could be that good, ir I would have never done that, or im going to do that. As far as always wondering about things and asking questions, we always have a thirst for knowledge and answers that may never be. Kinda like is a hotdog a sandwich and is cereal a cold soup

    G Scale are the only ones that can work outdoors? I'm planning on building a small garden with tracks but that size is too big for the place.
    I know little to nothing about this model trains but always dreamed on having them.

    • @TriGogglin
      @TriGogglin  Год назад +1

      I'm no expert, but G scale is built specifically for out doors, I have seen a few folks use HO but with a lot of problems due to their small size. I would do some extensive research befor spending your money. Hate to see you not be happy in the hobby..
