There's a weird emotion felt when watching Arin read the super jump tutorial and seeing in real time him not retaining that you can move before jumping. Like a weird mix of frustration and satisfaction. Probably what being a parent feels like sometimes.

Oh please, don't let this be a one-off. This game is an absolute gem and only gets better moving forward. It's not even that long maybe like 10-12 episodes
10-12 episodes at 30+ minutes is pretty decently long lol
It's such a good and goofy game, and you don't need to finish or perfect all of the levels to get to the end. I hope they give it another go!

Its so sweet how Arin was flattered when Dan compared this animation style to his old animations, considering that the animator that did this game would also probably be flattered at being compared to one of the most talented and most popular animators on RUclips and Newgrounds.

That's honestly just what being an artist is like. I'm an artist & I've even seen some of the most well-known artists on the internet get inspired by artists who *also* draw inspiration from *them.*
We're so critical of our own work that artists can get in a loop of inspiring each other because we both draw different things out of the same styles & become envious of the other one's approach.

Funny, considering PT's style is much closer to Zeurel's than Arin's.
This game is actually inspired by the Wario Land series. From the zanny design, to the move sets, certain sound clips and especially the whole running back to the beginning of the stage before time runs out (specifically Wario Land 4)

Yeah it reminds me so much of Wario Land. I always see people compare it to Celeste and Metroid but it feels exactly like Wario Land
Also Super Mario Bros 2 with the rat you have to kill with a bomb.

Arin and Dan was 👌 close to the jump scare if they waited on the save file screen a bit longer when Peppino was just sitting in the dark.
Watching Arin and Dan for the secrets is lethal for your health. Thank goodness they're awesome instead.

Tangled was an absolute childhood milestone
This intro is like a 90s MS paint animation that a kid did and their older sibling or parent added a hardcore song to tell people that while it looks silly, it's actually badass lol
This game looks like something from early 90s Nick, back in like the Rocco and Ahh Real Monsters days. I could see this being a TV show back then for sure. I love the style. Excited to see more of it!
This game actually is supposed to be based off of early 90s cartoons, honestly i would even say its a *PLAYABLE* cartoon
It's perfect timing that Dan just came out as a big fan of Sam and Max, gives nice backdrop to what kind of history he comes into this game with, and this style of humor.

I really love this episode. Between the "the pope isn't real, Dan" bit, past the literal skeletons in Arin's closet, to the absolutely insane gameplay ... this was so much fun!

I’d love more of this. Grumps in the Pizza Tower is great! Also Arin, the Mach Run scares (almost) any enemy, making them stop moving and able to do anything, and the Mach Run also just obliterates any enemy in your path. It’s damn near orgasmic to hit a big chain of enemies with the Mach Run.

@@Hyper_Drud If you're in a Mach Run, they'll get startled, and stop using their forks, making them easy pickings.

Almost every enemy, some aren't phased by the intimidation technique. But yes, in most cases when an enemy sees you barreling towards them they'll drop everything and start screaming, leaving them vulnerable
I love how Arin completely misses the message that he can move around during the super jump. Classic Arin Hansen.
To be fair he picked up on the majority of the moveset REAL quick. It is a ton of freaking moves to take in incredibly quickly.
He even came super close to figuring out parrying on his own.
it's got so much Battletoads and Boogerman energy, yet it's drawn in ms paint by someone pretending to be bad at drawing. this is incredible.

After seeing Vinny, Mike, Jerma and Joel of Vinesauce & Friends go through this, I don't need the Grumps to beat this game, but I absolutely love that they're bringing the famous Grump Bump to a fantastic indie game.

The entire 5-6 years development and constant devlogs and demos really paid off substantially. It deserves the attention it gets. The devs really emphasized fun with the entire game design.

Dan saying early on it's reminiscent of Arin's art, made me finally understand what connected Egoraptor & Primus in my head: spastic, ADHD, heady, and childlike commitment.

From the way they were talking and treating this game, they most likely intended this to be a one-off. But by now they probably noticed that this game is very popular and makes a lot of views, so they will surely be back for more eventually ^^

The devs and artists should be super proud of themselves, this game's animations and smoothness, the polish, it's all amazing!! This is truly a game that sets itself apart from what I've seen and experienced recently. 10/10 just watching it!

Time traveler here. A Shmerg helmet (Sense Heightened Media Recording Generator) is as the name would suggest, a device that creates and plays back semi-interactive media from dreams, thoughts, and experiences that, using generative AI, can then be played back but changed based on new inputs by the user or users. Essentially like the braindances from the classic flawless work of art known as Cyberpunk 2077 except with the ability to interact with the scrolls like a videogame rather than like a linear movie.
Wow I’m glad me and Dan both thought that this kind of looks like Arin’s old cartoons with all those expressions.

What is it about these weirdass physics games that get me so hype?? That timer chase got my heart racing
A few words of advice, you can only miss nine of the little dudes before you have to replay levels again so always be on the lookout for them, you have an up attack that you can use both on the ground and in the air that can be very helpful especially against flying enemies and for some collectibles, and also the janitor you picked up is for special treasure rooms only he can open, not only do these treasures give a ton of points but getting them all changes the ending so it’s a good idea to get them regardless of what you do.
