I love max honestly
also the way Arin has almost never interacted with Sam and Max as a franchise and yet picked up on Max's cadence, tone and personality PERFECTLY, I was not expecting that at all.
There was a time when I swore Arin must have loved Max as a character, cause he often gave off the same vibe. Learning that he had no idea who these two were is both shocking, and fascinating.

All he was given was that he was a homocidal lunatic yet he immediately picked up on the chaotic gremlin energy.

I cannot express the joy I felt when Dan said "we're gonna play this whole game through, by the way". I can't wait! I love seeing the Grumps play games they genuinely enjoy.

I like Dan playing his games. I feel it's like 60/40 with Arin and Dan for games so when he gets to enjoy games he used to play (and also paper Mario) it feels more special.

I'm with Dan, I love this entire franchise so much. Sam's brand of humor and social commentary is like no other, and Max is so delightfully, and entertainingly violent. Together, they're as iconic a duo as Arin and Dan.
It reminds me of when he did Space Quest, where he tried to not oversell it with his excitement and hedged it by saying we probably won't find it as good, or it didn't age well, etc. but it's really great! The humour feels timeless!

I knew nothing about Sam or Max until I saw them in Poker Night/Poker Night 2, absolutely fell in love.
As someone who was born maybe 2-3 years too late to experience it, this reminds me alot of the cartoon The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Somewhere between wordy winks to real-life dynamics and pure slapstick.

Such a rare trope these days. You don't get to see much couch gaming where one has a passion for the game and the other friend(s) lose interest quickly for these old games. I guess that's another reason streaming became a thing.

These are my favorite type of Grumps video - Danny showcasing his favorite games from his childhood. Chill vibes, Dan's excitement in these videos is adorable and it's a chance for me to discover some games that I possibly have never heard of. Never watched Sam & Max, but I can kinda see why a lot of people love this game.

I started watching Grumps the day that the channel started, although I've only watched on and off for the past five years as life gets too hectic, while not watching almost any for the last two years. When I saw that they were playing Sam and Max Hit the Road, I was speechless. It was the first game I ever beat (when I was 4 years old, with my dad), and I've beaten it dozens and dozens of times since. Watching them do the voices, putting so much effort into everything and having so much fun together, I have cried four times already and I'm only half way through this first video.
Dan and Arin, thank you both so much. I cannot begin to say how fucking amazing this video is to me. I will watch this series occasionally for the rest of my life. You've both always made me smile, through deaths and break ups and all of the shitty unavoidable things in life. Keep it up, guys. (fifth time crying)
The amount of times Dan has to get Arin's mind away from the gutter and back on track with the game is my favorite, it's like arin's gradually slipping into buzz lightyear's spanish mode and dan keeps pushing the reset button.

I love whenever Dan and Arin return to these point and click adventure games. They’re so cozy and nice to watch. These types of games weren’t popular anymore by the time I started playing video games, but they give me a sort of nostalgia for a time I didn’t really experience

Even though I don't have any nostalgic connection to this game or franchise, this playthrough is so cosy to watch. I love point and click games, and Dan and Arin chilling out and playing this in full is so relaxing. Even with how long each episode is, I've watched this full playthrough several times.
Their voices in this episode were so damn good 😭
