That's what I was thinking too. Peppino was still doing the right thing even if it meant turning his back on the family. He probably just wanted to have a pizza place but not work at one that's dangerous
@@bigjalapeno7061 Plus, it seems like the family wasn't that great to him in the first place. His beginning schtick was that he was terrorized by Noise and Noisette.
I cant believe how many things he got wrong, and fun fact,Pizza crawler was one of the pizza based game ideas mcpig had for making a game, gustavo being in the arcade machine is a reference to him being the main character of the game which was potentially also his debut.
one thing i was REALLY surprised he got wrong was the stretcher guy, i don't know how he didn't even think of the cheese toppin monster, the stretcher poster has the cheeseslime's eyes popping out, and it's way wider, like the cheese toppin monster
So, some misconceptions: Vigilante is NOT the stretcher. He either currently owns or is affiliated with the World 2 level, Fun Farm, as his grandfather, John E. Cheese (who appears in the Vigilante boss fight), is known to have owned the fun farm before he died. There are more peppino clones than in the Fake Peppino boss fight and WAR. In the World 4, Peppibot Factory, the titular Peppibots appear. While I'm here, I'm gonna drop a theory of my own In the World 4 level, The Pig City, the room where the police car is has a secret. Next the the police car, there are strands of bacon on the cieling. Superjump into them, and you'll find a door that leads to the Bacon Room. This is a room full of bacon (which is pretty unsettling when you remember that this is a city full of pigs.) In the background, a shadowy figure approaches Peppino. After a while, the figure will give a thumbs up and leave. The figure is named the Bacon God. It's pretty strange that there is a police car right next to this room. Note that the police car is disguised as a taxi. Almost as if they were trying to ambush somebody. They arrested Peppino, but he has no correlation to the bacon room, right? They must've mistaken him for someone, but who... Well, maybe someone who *looks* like Peppino could've been the suspect? Do we know anybody who can be found in World 4 and looks like Peppino? Fake Peppino. Fake Peppino must have some sort of association with the bacon room. What is the association? Idk, im not a theorist If you have any theories/ideas about this, leave them in the replies
First of all, yes the vigilante probably never worked for a pizzaria as a mascot and for me that just seems absurd, and even though I believe that the pizza tower used to be it's own company, I don't think ANY of the characters in this game are "seeking revenge" for peppino or that the chef himself used to work with them. As for your theory I like to think that yeah it's possible that a random fake peppino, when they started getting created and released, somehow...broke a law (killed citizens) and accidentally did that demonic thing we see in pig city. Now I don't think it was on purpose, I don't even think those clones can think of plans or anything, like how we saw in the war level where the clones would just go into your way and...I can't really explain it, they simply look dumb and with no goals. As for THE fake peppino, in my opinion the only thing who makes him stand out is that this one was more complete in the making, and probably the first one, and the only one it was ment to exists, meanwhile the other ones were created on accident and so they quickly got all over the place messing everything up. I don't think it had necessarily to be THE fake peppino who did THAT thing, the chances are unlikely.
Wait, if Pizz-Pizza had extreme health and safety dangers to the point where the health inspector literally *died*, doesn't that mean that Peppino going rogue and calling a health inspector on the pizzeria should make him a hero ? He basically nipped the entire storyline of FNAF in the bud.
I feel like mcpig is sitting in his chair leaned back with his hand over his face listening to this knowing damn well he didn't make the story that deep.
Not a lot of this makes sense to me, but the whole thing about Pizz Pizza being dangerous makes sense when you consider in the background there’s also a box labeled “Pizza flavored Rat Poison”
Honestly the fact that the level Don’t make a sound which is a FNAF like level is the main key point to the lore of Pizza Tower. Which also is showing the past of Peppino and Pizzahead is honestly giving us the reason that the FNAF lore syndrome has now officially been taking over other popular games and especially with a Wario Land like successor.
“fnaf lore syndrome” ain’t taking over games, it’s taking over YOU. McPig probably just wanted to make a funny fnaf reference with no lore whatsoever, but you took that as lore.
So, some misconceptions: Vigilante is NOT the stretcher. He either currently owns or is affiliated with the World 2 level, Fun Farm, as his grandfather, John E. Cheese (who appears in the Vigilante boss fight), is known to have owned the fun farm before he died.

love how matpat just ignored pepperman and the fact that the noise is the brand mascot for a massive pizza corporation. and that the vigilante doesnt know who peppino is until the bossfight, only knowing him from the wanted posters that pizzahead used to trick him
Okay, I am going to say something. Why would Pepperman have to be here if he had no lore to contribute otherwise, Mat would have added him into the conversation. Should I make a random theory on how Forknights cause cancer and should be removed, and then find out a way to incorperate Snotty into it?
@chef imma be honest here dude, he appears in the don't make a sound level on the pizza tower defense arcade machine. Is that not important? Brick also appears on the machine which leads to two things. Either brick and Gustavo knew each other before the events of the game (which doesn't make sense), or that the machine featuring him isn't important which brings things like the noise poster into question. We're not annoyed that pepperman isn't in the video because we just want him to be, we're mad because he makes sense to be.
Interesting. I would also like to point out the ending of the game: Following the destruction of the tower, Peppino and all of the bosses return to Peppino's restaurant and seemed to get along pretty well, having hot-dog eating contests and other activities. So they did seem to mend their relationship in the end. However, there are a few things that require a bit more explaining: For starters, if Gustavo wanted revenge on Peppino, why was he actively helping him in certain levels and the final boss? If we were to go along with this theory, I'm guessing Gustavo Tagged along with Peppino, effectively removing two main characters at once, so it checks out. As for the vigilante, I did want to point out that the cheese slime in the poster might actually be the one that chases us in the fnaf level: note the gaping black holes behind the eyes and the fact that the cheese animatronic has similar eyes to the one in the poster. I say all this because the vigilante actually obtains a bounty for Pizza Head in the end credits, plus I think it was stated that the vigilante was just a normal bounty hunter and nothing more. Jusy wanted to point that out.

A short theory you might wish to pay attention to. Due to the OST, every floor is based off of a day of the week. Floor 1 is monday Floor 2 is tuesday and so on. Does this mean Peppino spent a week in the tower?
What if Peppino not only left because of his popularity, but also because of the working conditions he had to face? Not only that, only him and Gustavo started out as actual chefs, not mascots. Of course Peppino and Gustavo may have tried to unionize, but for the most part it didn't work. As a result, they decided it would be better if they worked on their own terms, and Peppino contacted OSHA (ie the health inspector) for working condition violations. I interpret the Pashinos replacing Peppino as commentary for automation replacing blue collar jobs, but without Peppino's charisma they were nothing but empty shells.
I legit like this theory but I’m confused on the lack of Pepperman. He wasn’t mentioned at all in Don’t Make A Sound so I wonder how he got involved with Pizz-Pizza’s revenge plot to take down Peppino in the first place?
I dont believe the vigilante has anything to do with the defunct restaurant, and as far as the game is concerned we see the cheese slime animatronic that looks nothing like the vigilante. The first three bosses are just hires to stop peppino imo.
i fairly think the noise doesn't fit "family" so if we take the scrapped co-op or playable characters into mind, was noise (and maybe vigilante considering he was gonna be playable) also trying to destroy it
Let's appreciate how Pizza Tower not only created a boss rush as the final boss, but also balanced it so that neither you nor the opponent too over/underpowered.
I find it funny how the whole theory is solid with the sole exception of Peppino being in some way morally bad to justify them wanting revenge. If you ask me, I think in all likelihood he just left to get started on his own, the health inspector came to check things out for a routine inspection, and they intentionally killed him just because they're loony (considering he's like pinned to the wall instead of just caught in something) In all likelihood they just placed the blame on him despite him having done next to nothing
I love that pepperman does not fit into their theory whatsoever. I just think it’s funny that he’s just some random guy that showed up to antagonize peppino just cause.
Ive always loved the “The Hero is the Villan” theories, i know others sometimes find them tedious, but its fun to hear you break down the evidence to prove the conclusion.
i personally think that pizzahead was committing unspeakable acts at pizz-pizza, and peppino recognized the horrors that were happening, so he split off into his own brand, causing pizza face to start making him the villian, putting him as the enemy in spin-offs, making the other mascots be the heros and peppino the villian, peppino, who could not cope with the mental war of knowing what attrocities were happening in pizz-pizza, had it shut down.
That cheeseslime in that photo is literally an animatronic that chases you around in Don't Make A Sound And that Gustavo Marinette is a nod to the marinette form Peppino himself takes after he catches you. AND that Pizza Crawler arcade cabinet is nothing more than a callback to an actual canceled Mystery Dungeon-esque spinoff staring Gustavo of the same name..
10:40 you can see brick here and he became friends with gustavo later into the game so pizza face either predicted future (wich actually sounds pretty reasonable) or the levels where just created when peppino came to the tower to mock him and make him go trough more stress
4:43 or maybe y'know he could have just said that to scare peppino, said that in the sense of "my company is gonna crush your company" or the lazer could just have been hidden inside the tower
Even Pizza Tower doesn't give Matpat any rest. But what a joy to see a Game Theory video about the platformer of the year! Even tho I heard all of these theories in the community before, this was a really fun summary. I just love McPig for not only making a masterpiece, but also feeding us with delicious lore!
I feel like the arcade cabinets that show Peppino in the fnaf level are just joke decorations, also, the stretching cheese on the poster that is supposedly the vigilante is probably just the cheese animatronic that appears in the level
12:45 that panel is just a massive team fortress 2 reference. Peppino is dressed like a Soldier jumping into battle with a shovel while a heavy is eating a sandwich, notices a spy and promptly gets blown up by a demoman shouting "kapoom!"
First he was using the eyes who match the poster and in the poster show a cheesemonster say words and the only sound cheese monster who does sound Is the vigilante
Mat didn’t mention anything about Pepperman, so I’m going to pitch my own theory on him. I think Pepperman is the concept artist of the Pizza Boy Pizzaria. He didn’t release any art of himself because at first, he probably wanted to be a willingly unsung hero of the group. After Peppino left the franchise, Pepperman gained a sense of narcissism and started making art of himself. And he never stopped.
Me think he is a pizza head friend and he got allowed to live in pizza family house if he makes some paintings and art for them. And when peppino got there he just dint had anything better to do soo he striked
It kind of weird for 6:06 that the cut try to appear as a revenge, for me it just that John run out of enemy so he decided to use all cut out to make sure peppino fail

So, some misconceptions:
Vigilante is NOT the stretcher.
While I'm here, I'm gonna drop a theory of my own
In the World 4 level, The Pig City, the room where the police car is has a secret.
Idk, im not a theorist
If you have any theories/ideas about this, leave them in the replies
he didnt play t he whole game I think he just watched parts of walkthroughs
thats actually a pretty damn solid theory
Finally someone called him out about his theory, listen i like the man but making up stuff about best game to date i start to doubt him

I would also like to point out the ending of the game:
Following the destruction of the tower, Peppino and all of the bosses return to Peppino's restaurant and seemed to get along pretty well, having hot-dog eating contests and other activities. So they did seem to mend their relationship in the end.
However, there are a few things that require a bit more explaining:
For starters, if Gustavo wanted revenge on Peppino, why was he actively helping him in certain levels and the final boss?

Yeah pepperman is the only one how is missing maybe another character that was not very successful?
