For the mortal man, this is anxiety city, but you and your son are right at home. P.S. you seem like a great dad who is raising what will develop into great people.
It's kind of one step at a time. We didn't just end up in difficult caves. We've been doing this awhile and know how to approach each situation. The basic rule is if you don't fit in a passage you don't fit. It's not that easy to get stuck. If the passage goes downhill we back in feet first. If it's super tight we usually leave and come back with tools as well as other people. Or we just go home and think about it and make a plan. We also have cameras on robots that we can send inside a passage to ensure its basic safety.

Just the thought of getting stuck in tight holes is making me anxious. You guys have so much courage to do this. One bad move could be costly in such caves.
I cannot imagine going into these caves, I would absolutely HATE IT but I am just measurmized by watching these videos and I can’t get enough of them, I’m just thankful I get to do it at you guys expense, y’all have my upmost respect!!!
You guys have made up my mind! I'm emailing the local grotto and looking into starting to go caving. I always loved the recreational cave tours but always wanted to go further and watching you 2 have all this fun
If you've enjoyed tours and have always wanted to do more then... You should definitely move that forward. Some people only go occasionally but we are currently obsessed and just having so much fun.
@@CalvinHikes I dont blame you. Exploring new places is the best. I do it on my Kayak so why not in a cave
@@BLOOJ97 try going with another person, going by yourself is very dangerous
I almost thought RUclips removed you guys... I had always thought you had more subs, and when I went searching for you guys I could not find you... And I was even subed to yall.
That's interesting. I think worst case scenario RUclips could demonetize us. But I think people are overestimating the danger factor. We don't show anyone getting hurt, because no one gets hurt.
People do get upset and report us for things like child abuse. But unfortunately, that's too common on the Internet to raise any flags.
So we persist! Glad you found us again.
Thank you guys for doing this (so I don't have to). This is awesome and, for me at least, very terrifying! Looking forward to your future explorations!
You're welcome. This cave was pretty terrifying.
I am super claustrophobic and yet I watch these videos and live vicariously through these guys. My heart races I feel the walls closing in I close my eyes, and when I open them thank God I'm in my living room. You do a great job of letting us experience this with you.
i have terrible claustrophobia and would never do something like this yet i love videos like this
Yeah, it’s all fun and games until the crawlers show up.
The way u can take the video in that hard condition (i think), is incredible and thanks for sharing! Take care and stay safe dude!
Think you for mentioning that. It is incredibly and annoyingly difficult. That's partly why we like it. Because it is hard. But I appreciate your comment.
@@CalvinHikes both of u are incredible 👍
You guys make me wanna visit a cave... tho only the ones with tourist routes :D I am waaay to big to crawl into a normal small cave like anything we see here... still, the love for exploration, the challenge and adventure beams through your videos. Loving them!
I love this channel, they post some of the coolest videos I’ve ever seen in my life. That being said, sometimes these dudes put themselves in situations that I would never attempt. It’s all about experience and will power, I’ve never even been in a cave.
Thank you. Sometimes we put ourselves in situations that a lot of cavers aren't willing to do. The danger notwithstanding, it's very uncomfortable.
But we down here havin a good time.
I'd wondered if it's possible to turn in a tight cave, so thanks to Jacob for showing that technique!
Just the idea that someone behind me might get stuck, effectively meaning I'm stuck, would be enough to drive me over the edge. Assuming, of course, that I would put myself in that situation to begin with. Which ain't gonna happen!
Different strokes for different folks!
It's a hell no from me but I can't stop watching & I randomly stumbled across this channel 🙈!
Great father son relationship. I am happy for you guys. Nothin but good fortune your way guys!
Thanks much! Uncle/nephew, but most of the family caves.
@@billsanders9387 I have since learned after watching more videos! I'm sorry to make the mistake but none the less love the group! Definite goals for my babies.
Binge watching trying to see if I can overcome my fear and shock of what you do.
We'll try to make it worse
I like to imagine the beginnings of these systems, with rivers of lava flowing through and all the gas and mayhem that existed here.
Great comment!
I can't breathe by just watching this video.
I love y'all's videos and I watch them as soon as I get a notification that they're out. Keep them coming
When I watched the JJ documentary I got really scared of caves cuz I also once was stuck in a cave that the exit was covered by heavy snow (our entire group spent 2 hours to dig ourselves out) However the more I watched the videos and learned, I became less anxious. Love your videos! Stay safe ☺️
That sounds like a really cool adventure. You know, once you are out!
I start watching the video then stop because the anxiety starts creeping in. And then I start watching again because I have to see you get out. I could never do what you guys do.
I haven't been in a cave since I was a kid, but since I've moved states and am now in the city, far away from mountains and nature, ive really wanted to go caving. I've binged all the nutty putty and hellhole videos and I'm loving what I'm seeing and learning about. I would never go into most of these caves you're in, but I am super happy to watch this. Thank you.
My question for you: when you are in a new cave or are exploring uncharted areas, how do you take precautions for not getting yourself into too-tight-spots.
This video was the caving video of many to make me actually feel physically ill. I considered during off the but I had to see it through
You made it! We barely did.
I am so claustrophobic I feel dizzy with panic when I watch these videos, yet I cant stop watching for some reason. The fact there are people out there that find enjoyment doing this stuff is crazy haha
Ok this is the coolest caving vid ever. Great production value, tight squeezes. Alright gentleman, you've got a subscriber!!
Thank you! This was probably our toughest caving experience. Due to the long freezing hike. Just miserable!
I e been watching a lot of these caving videos the last couple days and I think I want to do the same thing. For me, tight spaces are comforting and I love exploring. The joy that you two get out of this is inspiring. Thank tou
It's like a hug from a cave! That's what we tell ourselves so we don't panic.
the worst part would be going back through everything
It sometimes is. If we're tired.
Or having to leave your stuck son to go get help.
Hikeman caves, i really love watching these videos Even i get anxiety of em Time to time 😃
I am extremely claustrophobic but I can't stop watching. My girlfriend hears me cursing and squealing and not being able to sit still and can't understand why I love watching this. It's something I'll never be able to do but big respect to you guys.
AWESOME video as usual, man. You deserve much more recognition in RUclips, and I'm sure you'll get it with time.
Thank you.
You guys are nuts! I hate caves because I'm claustrophobic, but I love nature. Great job and beautiful cave.
Still maniacs!! Agree this channel should have way more. Hope Caver Keith Checks out this page.
This turnaround that Jacob did seems like a situation where he could get stucked... At least for me.
It's the worst. Those are tricky situations.
@@CalvinHikes its easy to get out of a situation like this with help? Or even with help this could be a real problem? Thanks for the answer, your channel rocks!
You guys are beasts for doing these cave crawls I would never without excavation equipment on deck for a rescue
We always have excavation equipment at the ready.
@@CalvinHikes premium preparation💪
Breaks my heart to know my son will never feel his uncles love like this again. You're an amazing Uncle, man. Best wishes to you guys.
Thank you so much!
This is a therapeutic experience even though I have to continuously remind myself to relax and breathe. It's like a full body workout and a mental exercise. I love what y'all do, keep it up and stay safe ❤
I could quote you as the exact reason why we do it. It's therapeutic and a full body workout.
I am a former caver from Kentucky. My days of crawling on my belly as my back scrapes the cave ceiling are long over and I feel thankful to still be living. Even if I were thin like I was then, there’s no way. The thought of these really tight caves terrifies me now. Maybe it’s the John Jones story that was the tipping point for me.
