I watch a TON of "people flying RC Planes" videos, filmed all kinds of ways, and I have to say this again... you guys are hands down the best. I genuinely appreciate the effort y'all put into these reviews. Besides the wealth of knowledge, the fact that we can actually see the plane in the air while you're flying is HUGE. I'm so glad to hear you say that! I had the same issue with many RUclips videos out there (but certainly not all - there's some good stuff out there too!).... BUT, It's for sure, we have a "flavor" and it's unlike most others covering RC on RUclips. Really, I'm super fortunate to have my wife supporting me! She's such a good "camera crew" - I suspect you're heard the story, since you've been around for a while... but we always joked about her being the "camera crew" since it was obvious it was just the two of us :) She has a way about getting the plane in frame that we just don't often see, and neither of us realized she had this skill before we got started. Thank you. This is my first plane, I just got it today. The instruction booklet didn't give me half the info that you did. I would have been so mixed up without your vid. I did crash on the first try and there were pieces everywhere. That part of your landing gear came off on a perfect landing imagine what mine looked like when I hit the side of Krogers. I'll find more space next time. No actual damage though I just had to put the parts all back together and thanks for your vid again on that one.

Awesome video! You addressed some issues I had with this plane, specifically the wheel pans falling off. I snapped the wing in half 8 months ago and it's been in a box ever since. After watching this video I ordered a new wing and can't wait to fly it again! Thanks!
Oh yeah also does the T8SG have more distance rather than the stock one? Cause my stock transmitter always disconnect with the plane bout 50m distance and went straight to the grass. Thank god no damage at all😊

Thank you so much Brian, I have a XK A600 and a XK A800. I had the 800 set up to T8SG jumper (basic model, not flash like yours) and I did wish that I had it set up on the A600 last time I went out flying and forgot the tx. only had the A800 set on jumper..I did look around for in deviation for the protocal for it but it said NO it does not work on the A600..No after watching your video and following it (stop an start) as you a little quick at times..but anyway long story short..I now have the A600 and A800 set up on the jumper. Whooohoooo!!!!!! Oh and that silly battery cover I took it off as I lost the 1st one..got some velcro and stuck to battery and its been so much better....did the same for the A800.....So thanks again for sharing :-)
Very happy to hear that you got some use out of the part of the video!!! The Jumper is not super easy to work with, but when you get it going, it's pretty cool! I know sometimes I move quick through stuff, but them the video still ends up being over an hour long, and to be totally honest, I don't expect anyone to watch the whole thing....just the parts that are needed. I'm always glad to hear the effort wasn't in vain. Thanks!
Setting up a transmitter looks intimidating, especially that one. I bought a Spektrum, I hope it's MUCH easier. Thanks for all your very informative videos.
For sure JACK MILLS! The Jumper is WAY harder, especially for a beginner....BUT...if you were a beginner, starting with a very small budget, the Jumper would be a way into the hobby for only about $100! Agreed though, I think Spektrum has made this sooooooooo much easier than Open TX / Deviation.

They're the most surprisingly awesome speakers I've ever owned. I've had a lot of speakers, and I'm a bit of an audiofile...so was amazed these crappy little alien-butt-plug looking things were so amazing when I first hooked them up!!!

Brian I'm back you got my attention with the beaver little small like my Sport Cub what they did was they just tape the carbon Rod to the bottom of the wing on cub you have one of those you could do the same thing with the beaver give it some strength for bad landing just saw your twin otter on the table behind you mine came in today
I love that twin otter too, but even after tearing out the Rx and straightening it us...mine was JUST off centered... she still likes to fly with a small off to the left heading - weird right??? Does yours?
Got a Sport cub coming with AS3X system and am really impressed with the performance of your little beaver in the wind. I know though that if I crash it I can get parts for it.
Yeah, the Sport cub S UMX is pretty awesome. This A600 will stand up better in the wind, thought. Also it has a brushless motor, which is a big deal in this size class.

I think I get some feedback on poor audio quality from those people watching on laptops, since they can't get the volume up high enough to hear my under my breath mumbling...usually the stuff I shouldn't be saying in the first place...

I have a quick question, I've bought an x4 transmitter as shown in this video. I have an a120r reciver from wl toys. It bound with the x3 but not with the x4. It seems no matter what I try the transmitter will not enter bind mode. Please help me find the procedure for an x4 transmitter to enter bind mode
Might want to look up the manual, since I'm not sure on this XKA600. I know we've been able to get it working from time to time, but I got tired of not finding success, and more or less moved on from the Open Tx stuff. This is part of the reason we suggest using Spektrum, but I do agree, in this case, OpenTx is the way to go, since it's an XK

This plane is a great choice. It could fly in a smaller area than I'm showing here, but I prefer flaps for really small areas, which means I have to modify the planes. Not sure if you've already seen, but I modify some of the Horizon Hobby UMX planes, and add flaps too. They fly like a dream with flaps deployed. You can make them look sooooooo scale ;) ...but full circle here - this Beaver is a NICE plane, especially for the cash, as a RTF!!!...if you want a better plane, and already have Spektrum Tx, you HAVE to get a UMX Turbo Timber - bit.ly/3aGrMtI
How much elevator should move? It's my first plane. I order it and idea is firs train a little bit and then buy Turbo Timber evolution. I just don't want break this first test. And it would be nice to have everything good. Looks like elevator is moving very little. Aileron and rudder are moving much more. I was thinking that maybe I should move adjust to the outer hole to move more.?
I don't know. Measuring the "throws" on the Elevator is a waste of your time. You can do it! Just make sure you're in Auto Leveling mode when you take off. You'll figure out quick, the elevator is just one of many concerns. Practice will make all this easier. Good luck Vesa!

I've just received my flysky fs 6x and been practicing on ClearView Flight sim. Any recommendations of aircraft to fly on that might best reflect the flight characteristics of the FMS super EZ? I've been flying the "aileron trainer". It's a basic high wing trainer and performs acro really well. Cheers, man! Nick.
I haven't any experience with the FMS super EZ, but I can suggest that any straight/high wing performance plane will handle similarly. Keep in mind - No dihedral means you'll be able to tip over easier, so if you don't like that, get some thing with a bit of dihedral...many trainers have more than scale amounts of dihedral to help in that way.
I checked on mine, and I suspect you will be fine, BUT if you want to reinforce the wing, just take a very small piece of thread, and tied it between the fuselage and the wing attachment point. BUT, I think you'll be fine without...just won't be as pretty. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ho controllato il mio e sospetto che starai bene, MA se vuoi rinforzare l'ala, prendi solo un pezzettino di filo e lo leghi tra la fusoliera e il punto di attacco dell'ala. Not yet, but I don't think I had the Jumper yet when I filmed that one....but I might be mistaken. One complaint with XK, is the crazy numbering system. I never know what aircraft we're talking about - LOL
It's a lovely looking plane, but I feel it's quite fragile. I feel more comfortable flying the Volantex Sports Cub, even though it has less power with it's brushed 1S setup.

Instead of using a jumper, can I bind this to my xk K6 transmitter the one that I use for my K110S helicopter it says it can be binded but I was wondering if that controller would be a good one to bind the XK Beaver A600 too? Very nice video / review (and plane). For my "restart" of RC flying I have ordered one. Just one question I have....when you have flown this small plane.....which "area" you have used? (Here in Singapore the space is very limited....but I have a field here, which is around 250 x 200m)
Parts for this pane and many other XK planes are available on Banggood, but I wouldn't make plans to get parts. Planes that are in this size class will more than likely be replaced, or fixed without parts. I fix most of my stuff without ordering parts, except for the most beautiful stuff....and these planes are bigger, and more expensive.
Great plane. I use the jumper instead of the stock transmitter. The foam is terrible and very brittle . The gyro is very good but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. This plane could put you off the hobby forever when you see it disintegrate when you crash. If they made it from the same foam as volantex planes it would be great.
Brian, please go and invest in a wireless mic - suggest the Rode Wireless Go - your sound levels are all over the place. While it is lovely to hear Camera Crew, we need to hear you more 😃
Moira - If you want to send a set, we will try and see if we can work it into our system. We really do want to and try to produce high quality content, but we're working hard against many forces, as are other RUclipsrs - admittedly, but I highly doubt they have 4 kids bouncing around and 50-60 hours a week full time work mixed in. Rest assured, we're doing our best, but have this on our list of things to do.

I have used both, but not together. They would pair up just fine, but I do not have a video as I'm NOT good with openTx...I'm more on the Spektrum wavelength.

I want to do it so bad! I've been working to get Horizon Hobby to send planes for review. When I get a plane, I fly it maybe two or three times, then I'm on to the next one. It's awesome to try them out like that, but makes it pretty hard to spend $300-500 on a plane just to market it for Horizon Hobby. I really like it, and would LOVE to review it, along with many other Horizon Hobby gear, but they have been totally unresponsive. Will you call them and ask them to send me one? They have my email(s).

The H-Stab didn't hit the ground, your leg broke it when you tried to avoid stepping on it with your fancy footwork! LOL good flying though. Seeing you float that in the wind reminds be back in the day with Nitro/Balsa planes, loved flying in the wind, more of a challenge. Easier to land also, just hover it into the wind walk under it and grab the landing gear! lol

Not a full scale pilot. I assume you are assuming from the image on my channel...I was flying with my Dad when we took those pictures. He is a private IFR rated pilot. I'd like to get a pilot license at some point, but need more money and time than I can spare at the moment :( ....BUT some day ;)
Can you time stamp one of the times you're having difficulty hearing so I can go and see how bad it sounds. I've heard this complaint before... What platform are you watching on?
Brian Phillips I’m watching on a desktop, via chrome. My speaker level is at 49, where as any other video on RUclips my volume level is 19. Example: TheRCSaylors use a wireless mic, no matter the wind or how far away he is from the camera crew you can hear him speaking. Time stamp... all your videos are this way. Don’t get me wrong, love your videos, their extremely helpful but when your outside and you turn away from the camera... can’t hear you unless I turn the volume way up. Thank You for all that you’ve done to promote this great hobby!
Thank you for the explanation Harold. Like you, I generally watch [RUclips] on the desktop, like you. I do have to frequently adjust the volume all the time. As for the Lapel mic you suggested, we do have plans to work that in at some point, but as I've answered a few other times to similar requests, even though it's annoying (for which we're very sorry) we have so much going on that we have to pick and choose our battles. For the moment, I'm lucky to get the help with, and freedom to film as frequently as I do. I fear that adding another layer to the challenge might be the "straw that broke the camel's back"... so for now I will ask you, like I've asked others, to please bear with our crappy audio for a while longer. I can't promise a time frame, but when RUclips starts producing some more revenue, it might be easier to relegate more money and the necessary time into our video production. It's already very time intensive, but unlike the TheRcSaylors, who have a little over 206,000 subscribers (...we're a bit behind them, but getting there...) and TWO RC fanatics in the family, and only one child....we have FOUR, and only one RC Fanatic... We hope you'll hang in there. If someone wants to send me the lapel mics ( Something like this... amzn.to/2TDR1HO ) then I would be obliged to use it...at least once :)

Kevin, why not just glue her together and throw a piece of clear tape over the joint?
Taping the wing is definitely an option and I will have it for another day.
When you realize how effective it is, you'll probably never buy a replacement part again :)

Open TX, is not the most intuitive platform, for sure...I'm so spoiled with spektrum, so it's always gonna be more refined.
I have an A160 that I upgraded to a 1200 mah battery and used the brushless motor out of the P51. It flies incredibly well!
WOW - that's a big battery for a small plane!
this is my 1st rc plane... fly like a champion crashed a few times due to lost connection. really really nice!

Heli's but wanted the t16 so I could grow in the hobby although programming it to work has been a step learning curve.

Yeah, the Sport cub S UMX is pretty awesome. This A600 will stand up better in the wind, thought. Also it has a brushless motor, which is a big deal in this size class.

I have a quick question, I've bought an x4 transmitter as shown in this video. I have an a120r reciver from wl toys. It bound with the x3 but not with the x4. It seems no matter what I try the transmitter will not enter bind mode. Please help me find the procedure for an x4 transmitter to enter bind mode
Might want to look up the manual, since I'm not sure on this XKA600. I know we've been able to get it working from time to time, but I got tired of not finding success, and more or less moved on from the Open Tx stuff. This is part of the reason we suggest using Spektrum, but I do agree, in this case, OpenTx is the way to go, since it's an XK

This plane is a great choice. It could fly in a smaller area than I'm showing here, but I prefer flaps for really small areas, which means I have to modify the planes. Not sure if you've already seen, but I modify some of the Horizon Hobby UMX planes, and add flaps too. They fly like a dream with flaps deployed. You can make them look sooooooo scale ;)
...but full circle here - this Beaver is a NICE plane, especially for the cash, as a RTF!!!...if you want a better plane, and already have Spektrum Tx, you HAVE to get a UMX Turbo Timber - bit.ly/3aGrMtI

How much elevator should move? It's my first plane. I order it and idea is firs train a little bit and then buy Turbo Timber evolution. I just don't want break this first test. And it would be nice to have everything good. Looks like elevator is moving very little. Aileron and rudder are moving much more. I was thinking that maybe I should move adjust to the outer hole to move more.?
I don't know. Measuring the "throws" on the Elevator is a waste of your time.
You can do it! Just make sure you're in Auto Leveling mode when you take off.
You'll figure out quick, the elevator is just one of many concerns. Practice will make all this easier.

Any recommendations of aircraft to fly on that might best reflect the flight characteristics of the FMS super EZ? I've been flying the "aileron trainer". It's a basic high wing trainer and performs acro really well.

I haven't any experience with the FMS super EZ, but I can suggest that any straight/high wing performance plane will handle similarly. Keep in mind - No dihedral means you'll be able to tip over easier, so if you don't like that, get some thing with a bit of dihedral...many trainers have more than scale amounts of dihedral to help in that way.
...oh almost forgot, chatting for ages is something I do all the time...gets me in trouble often too ;)

I checked on mine, and I suspect you will be fine, BUT if you want to reinforce the wing, just take a very small piece of thread, and tied it between the fuselage and the wing attachment point.
BUT, I think you'll be fine without...just won't be as pretty.

Not yet, but I don't think I had the Jumper yet when I filmed that one....but I might be mistaken. One complaint with XK, is the crazy numbering system. I never know what aircraft we're talking about - LOL

It's a lovely looking plane, but I feel it's quite fragile. I feel more comfortable flying the Volantex Sports Cub, even though it has less power with it's brushed 1S setup.

I have a question Brian? Instead of using a jumper, can I bind this to my xk K6 transmitter the one that I use for my K110S helicopter it says it can be binded but I was wondering if that controller would be a good one to bind the XK Beaver A600 too? Very nice video / review (and plane). For my "restart" of RC flying I have ordered one. Just one question I have....when you have flown this small plane.....which "area" you have used? (Here in Singapore the space is very limited....but I have a field here, which is around 250 x 200m)
Your field will be plenty large enough at 250m X 200m.... you will be just fine.

Parts for this pane and many other XK planes are available on Banggood, but I wouldn't make plans to get parts. Planes that are in this size class will more than likely be replaced, or fixed without parts. I fix most of my stuff without ordering parts, except for the most beautiful stuff....and these planes are bigger, and more expensive.
Great plane. I use the jumper instead of the stock transmitter. The foam is terrible and very brittle . The gyro is very good but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. This plane could put you off the hobby forever when you see it disintegrate when you crash. If they made it from the same foam as volantex planes it would be great.
Don't disagree, but if you want a More starter plane, the Volantex RC Sport Cub 500 is a way better choice.
Brian, please go and invest in a wireless mic - suggest the Rode Wireless Go - your sound levels are all over the place. While it is lovely to hear Camera Crew, we need to hear you more 😃

Moira - If you want to send a set, we will try and see if we can work it into our system. We really do want to and try to produce high quality content, but we're working hard against many forces, as are other RUclipsrs - admittedly, but I highly doubt they have 4 kids bouncing around and 50-60 hours a week full time work mixed in.

Hey Brian, have you ever used the jumper with a lemonrx stabilized receiver or a BNF aircraft? Do you have a video of you setting up the jumper with those?
I have used both, but not together. They would pair up just fine, but I do not have a video as I'm NOT good with openTx...I'm more on the Spektrum wavelength.
Can't see transmitter screen because the camera can't see it properly.
I think the refresh rate on this screen is a bit of an issue. Not a whole lot I can do about it, unfortunately.

I want to do it so bad! I've been working to get Horizon Hobby to send planes for review. When I get a plane, I fly it maybe two or three times, then I'm on to the next one. It's awesome to try them out like that, but makes it pretty hard to spend $300-500 on a plane just to market it for Horizon Hobby. I really like it, and would LOVE to review it, along with many other Horizon Hobby gear, but they have been totally unresponsive.

Seeing you float that in the wind reminds be back in the day with Nitro/Balsa planes, loved flying in the wind, more of a challenge. Easier to land also, just hover it into the wind walk under it and grab the landing gear! lol

What platform are you watching on?
Brian Phillips I’m watching on a desktop, via chrome. My speaker level is at 49, where as any other video on RUclips my volume level is 19. Example: TheRCSaylors use a wireless mic, no matter the wind or how far away he is from the camera crew you can hear him speaking.
Time stamp... all your videos are this way. Don’t get me wrong, love your videos, their extremely helpful but when your outside and you turn away from the camera... can’t hear you unless I turn the volume way up. Thank You for all that you’ve done to promote this great hobby!

As for the Lapel mic you suggested, we do have plans to work that in at some point, but as I've answered a few other times to similar requests, even though it's annoying (for which we're very sorry) we have so much going on that we have to pick and choose our battles. For the moment, I'm lucky to get the help with, and freedom to film as frequently as I do. I fear that adding another layer to the challenge might be the "straw that broke the camel's back"... so for now I will ask you, like I've asked others, to please bear with our crappy audio for a while longer. I can't promise a time frame, but when RUclips starts producing some more revenue, it might be easier to relegate more money and the necessary time into our video production. It's already very time intensive, but unlike the TheRcSaylors, who have a little over 206,000 subscribers (...we're a bit behind them, but getting there...) and TWO RC fanatics in the family, and only one child....we have FOUR, and only one RC Fanatic...
We hope you'll hang in there. If someone wants to send me the lapel mics ( Something like this... amzn.to/2TDR1HO ) then I would be obliged to use it...at least once :)
