    Thanks for the in-depth video! Just got into reloading for bullseye and your instructions is helping a great deal in helping me understanding how everything works.

    I just bought my 650 a week ago and from not knowing anything about the Dillon beforehand, it now feels as if i could work for Dillon's tech support. Great series of videos!

    I have a powder check on my XL650 on station 3 that serves as a very good reference for powder charges in the case. I know it takes extra time to set it up properly, but it also provides an extra level of safety. I certainly agree that it is impossible to double-charge a .223 Rem case without spilling powder everywhere on the shell plate and making a mess to clean up. The powder check is definitely worth it, especially if you are also using your XL650 for pistol cartridges. Great video by the way on setting up the powder charge station.

    Just a tip but you can upgrade from the long handle to one with a round ball end that fits in your palm. The long handle works but wait till you try the ball end handle from dillon.

    Great explanation! I have a powder spillage after the case receives the powder. It only happens when loading .233. Never happens when loading pistol calibers. The amount of powder is correctly loaded, but a small amount of powder falls on the shell plate and on the floor. Don’t know why this happens.

    Excellent video! I've had my 650 for several years now, what ends up happening with me is that I'll set up for whatever caliber, run whatever brass I have or until I run out of primers or something, hopefully its a thousand or two rounds but usually it's enough to shoot for quite awhile so I don't need to reload for a long time. The next time I reload it's usually to go to another caliber. It's always good to be reminded of a few things, and I always enjoy seeing techniques others use. Thanks again.

    Great video Highboy, I just am setting up my xl650, my first Dillon. I have used Lee equip, from single press through turret presses to progressive, but have decided Dillon is the way to go. Your video was very helpful in setting and adjusting the powder measure, keep up the videos, I'll probably need them.

    Just came across your channel. Loads of help thanks!!! But I have a question for you. I'm so sing CFE 223 powder and I am getting a small amount of powder dropping on the shell plate after it's been lowered and moving to the third position. Is it normal for this or can I stop this mess somehow?

    • @76Highboy
      @76Highboy  6 лет назад +2

      If you want you can gently place your left index finger on the shell plate and ease it into the next index position. If you are loading for accuracy that will help. However, for high volume trigger time I don't worry about the minimal powder loss. I keep my air nozzle next to my Dillon and I keep it clean... but a few minimal granules... I am not worried about it. All the progressives do it because the powder has virtually no mass so it gets slung. That is one reason why I reload my precision ammo on a single stage press or my Dillon RL550. Hope that helps. Highboy

      76Highboy Reloading I knew I was going g to forget something. The powder I'm losing is not from the indexing, it's actually falling from the measure that did not drop into the case.

    Maybe you can tell me when I raise my Ram 223 brass goes up when I bring it back down I'm losing powder all over the place I reload all the pistol calibers and have no problems first time I've loaded rifle

      Hmmm, hard to tell without being there. I run mostly TAC and don';t have that problem. Wish I could help you. Highboy

      Late to the conversation, but maybe this will help the next guy.... I had that issue when going too fast. The powder did not have time to flow through the neck of the case before I started dropping it. Also, double check the funnel and make sure you are using the correct one. .223 is a #A Powder Funnel - #13426. It says "A" on the funnel.
