They toured as a self contained act [Gladys Knight and Bobby Taylor saw them live and insisted that Gordy needed to see them] unlike today's groups who have a lot of adults on stage with them playing and singing background. Jesus... After seeing this, you remember how talented these brothers really were. Jermaine and Tito really killed those guitars, Marlon and Jackie could really dance. But that one in the middle. Lawd, for years the music industry has searched for another like him. Please Justin Beiber and even a young Usher couldn't hold a candle to him on their best day. Man I sure do miss him.

Alexandra Dillard I remember the highest I paid was $10 and I was in the front. Every time The Jacksons came to my hometown Philly and nearby New Jersey I was there. I skipped the Victory tour because it was a mess with Don King as the promoter. I can remember Michael being upset about how expensive the tickets were and you had to buy four tickets together and that was the only way you could buy them . The fans were upset and didn’t want to purchase the tickets. Michael had to intervene and change how they were selling the tickets Mike never wanted to do that tour. He didn’t like Don King as a promoter he that he was a crooked and he was. It was supposed to be the reunion tour except Jackie’s wife hit he with her car for cheating with Paula Abdul so he couldn’t perform. Anyway, it was their worst tour because the brothers didn’t get along. It was MJ’s last tour with them. Michael donated all his money from the tour to charity.

Meh! I'm a huge Prince fan and miss him too. He was similarly amazing, but not equal. Both, powerful artists, but not alike. Prince was more musician, Michael, more performer. In his biggest moment, Billie Jean, for the first 2 mins, he didn't sing or touch an instrument, but killed it! - while Princess never had a dance-solo, not really. Michael, on the other hand, would scarcely no what to do just playing an instrument for 2 mins... while Prince would rip it! The two are really great, but I think Mike, since age 5, takes the performing award.
-And I know the Prince die-hard fans might give me a lashing for saying so, but I think most folks will agree. I think.

I so agree with you. My very first time seeing them was in June 1970 at the San Francisco/ Daly City Cow Palace. A lot of women were being carried out that night 😄. One woman was carried out in a black blouse and girdle 😁😁. The place was kind of a mess when it over. Another interesting tidbit about that night. Ike and Tina Turner were supposed to appear but Jerry Butler stepped in because Tina was “sick “. It took me years to figure it out. I did want to see them too but Jerry was cool. Anyway it was a memorable experience.

I got to see them through a cyclone fence in Robertsdale, IN, just about 20 miles from Gary in our lilly white town. Tickets were 5 bucks, didn't have it, but saw them for free through the fence. Two years later they were playing at the Air Crown Theater, McCormick Place for $5. Drove up there real quick and had 2-3 row tickets. Great show too.
