For those who say that MJ stole or copied dance steps from other artists, first tell them that this is called influence, it is a natural thing to do with the artists of the 2000s who were influenced by Michael.
Another thing he wanted to clarify. Michael in many interviews said that he didn't invent the moonwalk, he just perfected it and took it to another level. Michael is responsible that today we know the "Moonwalk" if it weren't for him we wouldn't be talking about that dance step.
What no one can deny is that MJ created a unique and unrepeatable dance style.
I'm so happy that you said that! We are all learning from each other. Especially in music and dance. There is a path of development. In fact Michael influenced a lot of artists who later created music or dance according to his leg moves. He changed the whole music industry forever. In 1983 he was the first black artist who was added to MTV. First his song Billie Jean was declined. Michael broke the MTV color barrier. The way he pronounced his words with his own flavor and his own style and swag set influences for years to come and change music forever. They still do it in pop music today.
What you said is exactly right. MJ created a unique and unrepeatable dance style! That is to the point. I often watch artist who imitate Michael, but there is always something they can't do it as Michael did it, an in that way "unrepeatable" is 100% true!

I was fortunate to see the Jackson 5 at Madison Square Garden in 1971 (or '72). Michael stole the show back then and he continued to be an exceptional performer until his passing. RIP Michael. Thanks for the memories.

He truly earned the name "King of Pop". (...and I've never even been a Michael Jackson fan. Never been a big fan of his music, but he had truly amazing skill and talent. He was an objectively good songwriter, singer, dancer and performer. If it wasn't Michael Jackson, I'm not sure who else it could ever be. I don't think anyone's ever even come close to earning that title).

Most of MJs moves are variations of breakdance moves, and were performed by street dancers wayyy before he showcased them. The Toe Stand was done by James Cagney years before, also. MJ was known for enjoying classic movies, and you can see a lot of those dancing styles in his moves, especially Fred Astaire moves. The Anti -Gravity Lean was used in the 1953 musical, "The Band Wagon". This is not to say MJ was not a talented dancer, but the personal touches he put on the older dance moves definitely made them his own and was a master at it.
Favorite is when he stands still and the crowd goes wild in anticipation.
I can't say anything on mj performance and dancing she is perfect but I can say is Michael is one of the greatest dancers in 90s 2000s and also even if he is dead I can't forget the greatest Michael Jackson
