You know what? There's no doubt that Michael was an outstanding vocalist, but his brothers provide him with the best accompanying harmonies he has ever had. I don't think they get a whole bunch of credit for that.
+Rick Hill I agree. When I first heard he was going solo, I wasn't happy. It meant losing Jermaine's more masculine voice alone and in harmony, which I really liked as counterpoint to all the high child voice songs, and my favorites contained that. Having said that, though, this is probably my all-time favorite song of theirs in that era of high school years.
I agree also. Hearing Michael and Jermaine sing lead together is magical. They both have such uniquely beautiful voices. Love this song and Looking Through the Windows is another beautiful song by the Jackson 5 that I've just recently discovered.
Rich H - That's exactly what I try to explain to young people. I saw these guys in their heyday. They were the truth. Jermaine was a monster on bass, and the vocal harmony and the choreography was better than all of the stuff Mike did with his hired help later in his career. Thanks for noticing.

Joe Jackson is the greatest entertainment parent ever. What he cultivated with his boys is nothing short of incredible. All six. Randy was already playing the bongos in this clip. So much talent.
Well yea, but Joe sold Michael’s soul against his will. That’s why MJ’s image was ruined when he found out that Joe did it n didn’t wanna be apart of it

He stopped belting and his range lowered but it's normal since he wasn't a kid anymore. I think Michael was very lucky because after voice mutation he got a unique voice tone, he started using different techniques like distortion... I have to disagree but he didn't lose power, for example, try to listen to a thriller full recording session ruclips.net/video/--STI2BSmqk/видео.html There are his clean vocals.
Happy Heavenly birthday Michael 🕊️🕊️🤍🤍... What I now realize is how sad he was doing his childhood. Even with his voice transitioning he sounds amazing, the runs , the head voice, the chest voice. Legendary.
during this concert is when mikes voice was making that transition a lil raspy but still you'd. brilliance as a great singer
Jermaine is smashing the bass on this live performance.

Jermaine nailed the bass line
He and Tito were amazing instrumentalists. They should’ve become smooth jazz artists in their later years.
It's 2024

Check out Jermaine's bass line. Superb playing. Like a grown man.
To this day it kills me that people STILL think he & Tito we’re faking it! SMDH! Those two were the truth!
Sounds like some Chuck Rainey and James Jamerson brain child there...

Edith Carter man foreal what a monster at dancing and singing
I think Jackson 5 was the best group ever at harmonizing with the lead singer in part cuzz they were actual brothers.
