Hi! I too am thru hiking the AT next year. I tentatively plan to start March 24. I am so happy I stumbled on your channel! What you are feeling and experiencing right now is exactly where I am. The reality is setting in and while I am super excited, I have to make sure the fear and uncertainties don't take over. I would love to connect and share ideas and support.
Hi Christine, I'm so happy it's helpful! I hate the fear, but I guess it's part of the journey. I know I'll feel like Wonder Woman when I'm done - you will, too!
Joyful Rambler Ladies please do not be afraid. This trail is a civilized trail and there is nothing to fear. As Bigfoot stated, just don’t camp near the parking lots as he had a scary incident there. Just be smart about it is all I am saying. I just hiked a very wild trail and it was only scared when I thought about it. I will be hard to miss with my red buff, red SS shirt, blue LS shirt, grey blue wind jacket and my red dirty girl gaitors. So please don’t be a stranger eh. And remember you can attach yourself to a group for camping but can hike your own hike during the day. I will be putting some more points on the FB page I created in the next couple of weeks on Hike your own hike.
Ah yes, lots of logistical things to think about! For me personally, I try not to ever underestimate the power of prayer. Ask for discernment, wisdom, favor, strategy, and creativity. I know that all of your prayers will be answered. You will have great success, inner peace, confidence and a commanded respect that will come to you by your very nature. Cheers and blessings. It's your turn to shine! Lamplighter from up in Canada out! 😉
That’s really awesome about the Trek!
Congrats on the blogging gig.
