I just got a 2013 ILX with 102,000 on it. It's the hybrid variant. I've already put 10k miles on it since last decemeber. Hopefully mine will last till 300k Atleast. Fingers Crossed!
I just bought a 2020 ILX Premium Aspec with 31K miles. Last year I drove 37K miles and my wife drove 30K. I was looking for a fun, unique, economical, reliable car that will take the miles. My plan is to put another 150K or so on it over the next 5 years and then hand it off to my son who will be 17 then. The car could very well have 200K plus. I'm excited about the goal. Years ago I put over 300K on an Integra and only replaced brakes, tires and one alternator.

I drove over 100k miles in the first 2 years of owning my Acura ILX 2013. IRS been absolutely perfect and no wear other than changing brakes. 5 Cross country drives with no issues. I mean cmon…. Wow what a car. Anyone with info to the car manufacturers email to thank them?
I do not understand why 200K seems like a huge milestone specially if those are Highway Miles, Those are nothing on a modern Honda Engine.. This should be updated once that engine reach 1 million miles which is the new milestone for Hondas. I expect any new Honda or Acura to AT LEAST take me to 500K on the original engine and trans.
I understand that, and I agree. I have a Legend with 554,000 miles on it. The point of the video is not just the miles, it's the fact that the car got to 200,000 in only 5 years and required only 1 non-scheduled maintenance item. Thanks for viewing!
HAd one on lease a while back. Loved it but wish I got the one with the better engine. However that one didn't offer the 6 speed :( but very underrated. The seats alone were definitely a highlight.
I just recently bought this car and love it..had you came thru any issues? I don't have the stick shift but am enjoying it alot and looking to customize it a bit..
Had a 1997 prelude sh. 295,5xx miles. I had to rebuild the engine at 268,xxx. Alternator, clutch and flywheel is all I changed. Everything else was original. Until two cyclist decided to swerve in front of me and I went in the ditch. Great car! Everything worked till that day.
I had 44 service visits on my Audi. Beautiful car... Terrible reliability Got a Honda blew the clutch 3 times.... No car is unbreakable when I drive fast 137mph still no regrets
After watching this video I was inspired to start a maintenance record binder for my Accord EX-L. Such an awesome idea would have loved to see more of it. Do you keep one for all your cars?
Just purchased a 2012 TSX with 57k miles a little over a month ago. 1 owner car. Plan on taking care of it as well as possible. Hope it can last 300k or more.
After spending so much seat time in the ILX, what are your thoughts on the seats? I'm upgrading from a Saab 9-5, so I've been spoiled with very good seats for the past couple of years. I love the ILX, but I'm hesitant to buy because I don't know how the seats feel after a full day's worth of driving.
I find the seats comfortable, at least I've never thought of them as "un" comfortable. Not sure how much time you're spending on the car each day, but give it a test drive and see what you think. They definitely have less side bolster support than my Legends, but I like that the footwells are deeper and more roomy so I can stretch out a little.
I have almost 100k on my 2014 ilx. Only maintenance I’ve done is a new battery and tires besides oil changes and tire rotations. Do you recommend any maintenance such as brakes, etc? Thanks.
That's a beautiful car and it's got a Manual Transmission, that's a bonus. I would make this my next car on my list, but I want a 350z, and owning 4 door cars, are useless to me because I rarely have passengers, in my car and I'm a single guy no Wife, and no kids, and I plan to stay that way
I have a 2015 ilx dynamic manual.. I love it... just having a trouble finding replacement front shocks! The dealer has them but the price is too expensive.. any ideas or hints? I live in Montreal canada btw
That sounds like a cool ILX. Sorry I'm not sure what to recommend other than the dealership, but I'm surprised you already need them. How many KM on your car?
@@TysonHugie tnx for the reply.. it's only 83000km .. I hit a big pothole (u know quebec s roads aren t the best) and after that the front right side rattles when the road is bumpy (I checked the links and the sway bars all is good, it's just the right shock that seems to be softer then the left)
Hello, thinking about its 2019 model just the base model though and IF I do get it, it will be my first luxury car, how is the regular maintenance cost of this? Insurance cost as well, since it's a luxury is it like sky rocket high compare to let's say a civic? Base price is pretty interesting compare to other entry level luxury car, any catch?? :-) I was thinking maybe it will get me when it comes to maintenance and insurance cost of owning this car. Thanks.
Maintenance is not expensive, the car's drivetrain is largely shared with Honda products. Honestly I have not had any issues with pricing of this ILX being higher than some Hondas I had in the past (maintenance & insurance wise).
My 2013 ILX 2.4 seems to be having problems with the push button start. Some days no issues, some days will take 7-8 tries to finally start the car. Any thoughts? Also get a random ‘whirling noise’ while releasing the clutch in 1st gear. That happens about 4-5 times a week only for about 1 second at a time. Appreciate any help. Thanks
The start issue, never had that. But the whirling noise - 100% yes, very frequent! Never did figure out what that is, but it doesn't seem to affect performance.
I have a 2012 honda civic with a 1.8-liter engine with a 5 speed automatic could the car itself last over 200k? Could someone tell me if there reliable
Just got back from dinner in it actually! It has almost 223,000. So I've kind of slowed down on putting miles on it. But mechanically it's still as reliable as ever.

They are great cars, and I'm sure consumer relations would love to hear the positive feedback
I am curious.. Was the starter a DENSO Unit?
I have 230K on my OE Starter in my TL-S (V6).
HAd one on lease a while back. Loved it but wish I got the one with the better engine. However that one didn't offer the 6 speed :( but very underrated. The seats alone were definitely a highlight.
It does have nice seats.
This is awesome man!! Maybe I can do the same with my 17 civic haha
Man Im really curious on what camera was used to film. Such detail and great processing!
This has always been my goal 😩 drive around the country
Gotta do it!
Beautiful car. I want one with a 6 speed.
Thanks!
I put on 20,000-30,000kms a year w mine, my commute is 100kms round trip, and drive maybe 30% city driving, 05 CRV with 297,000kms
I admire you Tyson
Haha, well thanks!
I just recently bought this car and love it..had you came thru any issues?
I don't have the stick shift but am enjoying it alot and looking to customize it a bit..
No, no issues. Just regular maintenance! Congrats on buying yours!
Almost made it to 300k. What do you drive now?
@@TysonHugie I have a 06 honda ridgeline 179,xxx miles. But, I'm saving up for a 2019 honda insight.
I had 44 service visits on my Audi.
Beautiful car... Terrible reliability
Got a Honda blew the clutch 3 times.... No car is unbreakable when I drive fast 137mph still no regrets
Sorry to hear about that reliability.
Jokesfaggen makes junk
After watching this video I was inspired to start a maintenance record binder for my Accord EX-L. Such an awesome idea would have loved to see more of it. Do you keep one for all your cars?
Yes absolutely! I have a binder (in the case of my 500k+ mile Legend coupe, 2 binders) for every vehicle.
Monday I’m getting a 13 ILX w/tech package, I like that tail fine and Lower body kit
Definitely, those are just dealer-installed accessories
@@TysonHugie I would LOVE some for mine
Great story
Thanks for watching, Al!
This is awesome
Thanks Troy!
He is right I have A 1997 Acura go any where my car is bullet proof great on gas 5 cylinder engine rare low mileage 160 ,000 miles
That’s awesome, keep rolling
How do you keep it so clean. My ILX managed to get paint chips and scratch the lower valence from road debris.
The Silver Moon paint hides a lot, plus it has a clear bra, plus the front end was resprayed at 194,000 miles.
I have a 2013 TSX... only 54k on it...I plan to keep it forever.. Honda makes such great vehicles.
Definitely! Keep on rolling.
Thanks.
Do You have Manual or Automatic transmition?
@@FranciscoGonzalez-gh2ws automatic
My 03 Altima has almost 500k miles. Original motor and transmission. Plan on going to Georgia in two weeks with it
That's a beautiful car and it's got a Manual Transmission, that's a bonus. I would make this my next car on my list, but I want a 350z, and owning 4 door cars, are useless to me because I rarely have passengers, in my car and I'm a single guy no Wife, and no kids, and I plan to stay that way
You mean tiptronic?
hey did you have problems with lower mounts?
Mounts? Engine mounts? No never
My 1994 Lexus es300 has 182,000 miles, looks like it's got a long way to go
My 2013 didn't come with supplier nor bottom kit that's what am planning to buy soon..like how back looks..
How many miles you have now? My girlfriend has the same exact ILX. Just did spark plugs and valve cover gasket!
Nice! Just 230,000
I have a 2015 ilx dynamic manual..
Ok thank you and great video
93,289 miles on our 15 pilot 😌
tseng jessica take care of that thing!
T Jessica I have 88k on my Tsx 2012
The intro song took me back to 2010 haha
Oldie but a goodie!
I can believe 500k on the original engine and transmission but on the clutch too? That's insane
I know, it is crazy.
@@TysonHugie Would you say that's more of a testament to Acura's quality or you babying the clutch? (Unless you didn't)
Thanks for your feedback!
Sick bro
Thank you
But did you baby every car or has your ILX seen redline in most gears as mine has with 143,000
Nice!
Is it worth buying?
I have a 2012 honda civic with a 1.8-liter engine with a 5 speed automatic could the car itself last over 200k? Could someone tell me if there reliable
Yes very reliable!
Is a 2016 Acura tlx with 111,000 miles for $14,000 worth buying?
I haven't followed the marketplace for those very closely! Seems decent.
Hi, how many miles now?
244,300
How is that ILX doing today?
Just got back from dinner in it actually! It has almost 223,000. So I've kind of slowed down on putting miles on it. But mechanically it's still as reliable as ever.
Tyson,
Just wanted to say I’ve been watching your videos in your continent for about 2 1/2 years and it’s simple and well put together and I just wanted you to know that I’m also a Honda Acura enthusiast and I have my own collection and some of the cars are the same as yours but anyway I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your videos they’re well put together. Really quick a funny story I have been searching for GSR for a long time I did finally get a low mile 98 GSR that is my pride and joy but in my search I ran across The gentleman who purchased your supersonic blue GSR and I almost bought it but that was a cool little story but anyway continue what you’re doing have fun and be safe God bless oh PS what camera do you use for your videos?
Best ,
Kevin
Thanks Kevin! I just subscribed to your channel, looking forward to checking out your cars. I wonder where my Super Sonic ended up!
Oh and I mostly just film with my iPhone 12!
@@TysonHugie Hey Tyson,
Thanks for reaching back out and for subscribing to my channel! I’m new to it but it’s going to be learning how to log my content and share it through my channel.
Your SSB GSR was posted for sale on Craigslist about 5 months ago here in Cali and as I was looking at the pics recognized that is was yours. I ended up talking with the new owner and he and follow each other on IG. Just thought I’d share( small world). Let’s stay in touch!
Best regards,
Kevin
Found a 2014 white on black interior just under 60k miles for 11.5K, there are only 7 for sale in my country😅
Buy that! They are pretty rare.
How do you put over half a million miles on a clutch?!! this guy must have the most gentle foot in the world lmao
Haha I do. It's a lot of highway miles.
