Well they found it was some odd kind of illness that had to do with his genetics 🧬. It wasn’t anything we did as dog owners (thank God) . Well anyway …. I would shave him down every summer. He likes to lay in the grass in the sun when we were at work. He was completely black and I knew this made him much hotter than any other colored dog /animal. He really likes having it done. He would lay down and stretch out and just enjoy it. He was such a sweet boy . RIP Stanley . This pup is going to feel better too , I’m sure of it…
Maybe someone you know or a viewer in your area could make a carpeted ramp out of wood that you can use for your elderly dogs. They would have a much easier time getting in the tub. Old dogs often have trouble with their hind end. It would be better for you and the dog
A set of carpeted pull out steps would be great for those dogs who are not only too small to jump but also for the elder dogs as well. Many big breed dogs have hind quarter issues as they get older,so the steps would come in handy, and since you have back issues, it would be a handy tool for your health as well! . Yep being over weight for ANY animal (including us HUMANS is not good for any of our health). Wow, Marybeth, you have some heavy duty camera equipment on your head! Good thing you only have one dog to groom. This dog hasn't been bathed in so long that it is no wonder that there is major dirt build up that is requiring you to use a lot of product.
Our groomer is excellent... my granddog has a running 10 week appointment he is a mix... ship shu, Maltese, and yorkie... but he looks like a miniature bernie... in his coloring and coat... As long as he's been going to the groomers, you would think he wouldn't be nervous with Melissa any more... but he still is ... if not more...and he won't drink anything when he's there and he won't eat her treats... l when we get him home see any tufts... we know he was jumpy... andcwecsay Melissa did the best she could... he's nervous to begin with... my daughter has to carry him in as soon as she turns the corner he starts to cry... so we give our groomer her flowers with our baby... she does the best she can with our nervous poochie

Is there a reason to wash it before shaving? Does it make the shave go easier? It just seems like the shampoo would get the dog cleaner if you did it after the shave, but I don’t know anything about dog grooming.
If a person chooses this kind of dog, they need to realize it’s work to care for them. We have 4 cats all short hair but one, they all love being brushed and the long haired one is brushed every day and groomed reasonably when needed. That’s the bottom line when being an owner! It’s called being responible

I didn’t hear you say if she’s a purebred or not. I’ve been a Vet Tech for over 30 years. I love to hear groomers take some initiative in educating owners about their dogs health. You can’t diagnose or prescribe meds but you certainly can advise them on weight or ear infections fleas ticks. Even strong smelling urine or diarrhea evidence. Thanks so much for going above and beyond for our sweet fur babies. ❤
His coat is more like a goldens coat I think he is more black lab golden retriever mix , my vet told me never to shave them. Ecause they will get sunburn my golden also had the black spots on there tongue
I like your work very professional. Also how you explain details to viewers to learn about not only the dogs but about cleaners, maintenance and more but one thing. I see other gromers that seat the dogs for a while so yhat they rest a little but not you! The dogs get tired as much as we do! It make me very unconfortable ses how they standing all the time you doing your work. I don't see compassion on you about these beautiful animals. I don't perceive much love I only see is your job, you love it. It's generating good money but I feel bad seen them tired tired and maybe thirsty and you just continue with your work not acknowledging their need! This baby for sure is overweight and that also is animal abuse. As an a pet owner I make sure how to balance my dog diet and excersise too. This poor dog is obese. She walks like a bear as big she is☹️😥poor baby
I just got clippers but there in mms and I don't know what it is in I dont know groomer words, if its a 7 or 10 or something, my clipper and clipper gards, and my clipper gards are plastic how ok are they could I use them just till I could get metal, I want to start grooming, and got this kit from my family as a gift and want to use it but they dont know much about grooming and just are trying, and so am I, I have so many questions, but I'm not going to intrude, , knowing you might not see this, and that youre videos are still very helpful, and thank you for your content
This dog looks like she likes to par take in some eating !!! Lots of eating. She probably could lose 20 pounds and she would be much more happy and healthy. And not to mention comfortable. All that weight can hurt their bones , backs and joints. Especially the hips . I’m not trying to shame anyone or be mean. I just feel bad for the dog and also it takes years off their lifespan. No one wants their dog to die earlier than they should. Especially if it’s something that can be helped . She’s a sweet girl and very good for her bath.

Being ambidextrous helps, I cut hair for 45 yrs! Taught myself to to use non dominate hair for some of the tasks
