  • I have decided to start using an e-ink tablet to streamline my workflow and increase my productivity. I thought that the writing capabilities of the Kindle Scribe would do it . . . until I got my hands on the reMarkable 2. It has been updated with V 3 of the proprietary software, and I LOVE it. Let's talk about why . . . #remarkable2 #writer #technology

    This is best RM2 review and overview I’ve seen. Have since ordered a Kindle Scribe and RM2 to test side by side. Only expecting to keep one device. Primary use case is a note taking replacement for paper. Simply tired of making lists and disorganized notes with combined notebooks as not to waste paper. Really excited about everything I’ve seen here about the RM2. Whereas it seems as if Amazon have slowed their Kindle Scribe software updates which was a bit discouraging.

    I run my own Meditation Studio and I teach Ayurveda. I use my remarkable to take notes for clients when they come in for coaching, I keep all my business pdfs on there including intake forms, quizzes, questionnaires, resource documents and they are all available at my fingertips. No bells or alarms go off. No one pings. I can email everything out and I can sit with my client files in complete privacy. I love my portable filing cabinet.

    You don’t need to pay the connect fee for syncing to the cloud. It’s free for documents under 50 days old, but you can’t edit them on the desktop and mobile apps. The Kindle scribe pen is much cheaper and works well (Lamy Emr and Staedtler Noris digital Jumbo are fab!). I also recommend a 3rd party case to save money, but it does need protecting. The screen is far more fragile than an iPad or iPhone.

    • @fitdaniellereads
      @fitdaniellereads  10 месяцев назад +3

      YES about it needing a case!! And thanks for the info on the other pens. I have the Lamy, and I've been looking at the Staedtler. I'm a little bit obsessed with it . . . now I think I'm going to go ahead and get it.

      The jumbo is my favourite in use because of the eraser on the end and how it looks.

    "Great Video Review!!!" I have the Amazon Kindle Scribe I bought for Christmas of 2023 when it first came out and just a week ago I bought a ReMarkable 2 on Mercari from a man who was selling his for $325.00 because he just bought an iPad and he didn't need it. He included a case he bought for it he bought on Amazon and not a ReMarkable pen but a Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo pen I always wanted the ReMarkable Tablet and I seen one at my local pawn shop a ReMarkable 1 a few years ago and it was $400.00 and I couldn't afford it atvthe time. And I just seen a review of this ReMarkable 2 Tablet from Unboxed Therapy recently and I thought I should buy this and I'm like what you too I don't really need it but I do really like it and I knew too I wanted it. I was happy to find a great deal on this one used but still new online!!! 🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️

    Great video! Just wondering if you'd recommend the remarkable or the Kindle scribe? I do read e books, but i need a device for note taking primarily as i already have a kindle paperwhite. Thanks!

    • @fitdaniellereads

      I would absolutely recommend either the reMarkable or the SuperNote for note taking, especially if you have a Paperwhite for reading.

    So, if it syncs with my laptop and phone I'm assuming I can print a doc that was created in reMarkable 2 from those devices if I need to? I'm assuming I can't print from reMarkable 2. Bty, great review, thanks. Mine is arriving on Jan 2. My reason for buying it is that I'm tired of using notebooks. I have so many papers and notebooks lying around that I often can't find or end up just using a few pages and then, well, it just doesn't work. I'm buying it to not have to use notebooks and paper. I bought it for the same reasons you did.

    • @fitdaniellereads
      @fitdaniellereads  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes!! You will be able to sync your reMarkable to the cloud sync app and then access that from a computer, tablet, phone, etc, and you can do whatever you need to with your documents from there.
      I think you will be thrilled with the ability to use the reMarkable instead of paper for SO many things. Let us know how you like it!!

    I want the ReMarkable for accessing Music Scores for 2 choirs I'm in. I think this sounds to be exactly what I want. I understand that it will access Google Drive, where the Scores are saved, so it seems like it's a no brainer.

      It really is a great device. I use the SuperNote as my daily drive only because I prefer the feel of writing on it more than the reMarkable, but they are both fantastic.

    What are the strengths and disadvantages of the kindle scribe over the remarkable 2?

    • @fitdaniellereads
      @fitdaniellereads  10 месяцев назад +3

      I'm not sure if you've seen my Scribe video, but I'm not going to get into the weeds about the Scribe as an e-reader here because it's a LOT, but I think that the simple answer is that if you want a big e-ink tablet that you can easily read Kindle books on, the Scribe is the one. If your focus is writing and planning, it's the reMarkable.

    Good review! I just purchased one (haven’t received yet!) as two people I interface with in Sales had them and said R2 was a game changer. Have you purchased and used any templates? I see there are a lot on ETSY. Thanks in advance. Good Review.

      Depends on what you're looking for. If you find a template you like, it'll probably work great. My Deep Guide on RUclips has a great planner, if that's what you need. Enjoy, it's a fun device!

      Game changer is the perfect description. I actually use my Supernote a5x as my daily driver over the reMarkable only because I prefer the feel of writing on it more, but they really do most of the same things. I use a free planner that I downloaded, but all of the other templates that I use are ones that I've created in Canva, saved as a PDF, and loaded onto the device. And thank you for your kind words, btw. 🤗

    Except for the sleeker and slightly lighter form factor (30 g lighter than the Kindle Scribe), why buy the Remarkable when the Scribe has at least 4x greater battery life (reading only, light off), and a backlight for writing under dim light conditions (or in bed, without bothering one‘s bed buddy)? I‘d consider a Remarkable if it had a backlight and still had the same size and weight and clarity as now. Otherwise, I‘ll stick with my beloved Scribe.

    • @fitdaniellereads
      @fitdaniellereads  10 месяцев назад +3

      I agree, if you want a lit device, the reMarkable 2 is not the one. I think the Scribe is a fine tablet, but the reMarkable is designed specifically for writing, and it just does it better. I need to do a side-by-side comparison, but one thing that bugs me about the Scribe is that when you use a template, it's applied to an entire notebook. On the reMarkable (and the Supernote -- review coming up), you can use different templates on each page of your notebooks. It's not a big deal, but I find it really useful. I'm SO glad that you love your Scribe. I love mine, too. 😍

      @scottbecker3485 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@fitdaniellereads Very interesting response - thanks. I totally get how the Remarkable is better at notetaking (also due to the template flexibility, but perhaps the Scribe will one day get updated to make it better in a few ways). Like I wrote before: If the Remarkable ends up getting a backlight without getting much heavier (and still has a crisp and clear display on a par with that of the Scribe), I‘ll get it. Until then, the Scribe will do just fine. The Remarkable is long overdue for a next-gen model. We shall see…
