On the upside, my QN900C 75" combined with the Samsung Q990C soundbar is quite good, not audiophile however it not a Cinema Room, it just the Living Room for day to day stuff. The mid range is more than acceptable and easy to hear the voices. Even the bass is OK without the boom boom affect. The audio output is quite good and has plenty for the job. I never have any audio drop outs in any channel, no sync issues with any content and the WOW combined TV speakers and soundbar have no echo issues. I use the EARC cable between the TV and soundbar. I use quality HDMI cables for all my devices and run Ethernet not WIFI. The TV GUI is good and after a little while easy to live with. The remote is OK too has most functions for other connected devices and the battery seems to last a long time between charges albeit through USB C cable when needed.
When I connected the TV and soundbar and setup, it all worked so thank you SAMSUNG for that.
Updates are automatic for the TV however the soundbar will either be via USB stick or through the SAMSUNG SmartThings mobile App which is OK.

Hey I heard that because of that the pixels are so small and more dense in 8k tv (qn900b for ex), its performence is not as good as the 4k (QN95b) for ex. Will the 4k tv look a little better then 8k tv if we look away from the higher reselution? And I have an QN95T 75 inch, it has light bleed and can dim objects too much that are bright but small on the screen with black background (limit light bleed), so if you have subtitles on a movie, it get really dimmed somthimes. Really wanna get this tv, so Im wondering is it as good or better then the QN95C, and is the blacks and dimming so good you wont notice visual diffrence between QN900C and an Oled . Thanks for any reply :D

I had the old 8k Q900 from 2019. The blacks were great, but the dimming of content between bright and dark scenes was very annoying. It was honestly the biggest con of the TV, well also on year 4 it developed a bright spot 3-5 inches and a smudge that appears when it gets warm. This really put me off on paying another 6-8k for a TV that might develop screen issues on year 3-4. I think 8k is amazing but I don't miss it as much as I thought I would.

@dannycohen6539 The pictures between the two are very similar, and both are incredible. It really comes down to extra features. The Samsung, for example, has a multi-view option. The Sony does not. But the Sony uses the Google TV operating system which a lot of people prefer to Tizen, which is what Samsung uses.

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  Год назад +3

@CincyCruisin Those are two great TVs. At the moment, we'd say the Sony in 75 or 85 inches is a better value since it costs a bit less. But if you need something smaller, only the Samsung comes in a 65 inch size. And if you're a gamer, the Samsungs have 4 HDMI 2.1 ports that all have VRR and 4K/120 available. The Sony only has 2 with all the next gen gaming features.

Oh yes reflections...the screen is not the best to minimise LED ceiling light reflections, you will get rainbow effects, across the screen depending upon the ceiling light brightness. Fortunately I am in the middle of renovations, therefore my new ceiling lights will be recesssed in the ceiling to reduce reflection or refraction being seen when viewing the TV. Of course the TV itself emits lights therefore the rainbow effect is reduced somewhat.
You may have to angle your TV screen slightly to reduce reflections further.

It seems they increased the MiniLED count in the backlight by 50%. So the zones might stay the same. But Zones is not everything. How many lights and how they can control them with dimming and increasing brightness also help with blooming and grey scale.
So it's likely that you get better black levels and bloom handling on 900C vs 900B.
With QN95C they just bumped the dimming zone count to be the same. But no increase in MiniLED lights. A huge improvement for QN95 lineup. But still a difference.
Also the 900C gets 64 neural networks vs 20 in the other TVs in the entire lineup.
I think I might actually be really interested in 900C now even though I really want the QN95C as well.
Too bad most reviewers not going to bother finding out things and test them. It's all just OLED and the "general" TVs they test.

@@jonasnezinomas5781 2 weeks ago my neighbor put his 85" QN900C next to my 85" QN900B side by side and we didn't notice any difference when it comes to picture quality. Colors, contrast, clarity are all pretty much the same. However, the QN900C is indeed a bit brighter when viewing HDR content. For viewing movies, even before getting my 900B, I already knew OLED tvs have better clarity than QLED even a 8k QLED. When each pixel can light up and dim itself on an OLED panel, every pixel has its own separation from others, it makes the details of the images super crisp. QLED tv can't do what OLED can do when it comes to that no matter how high the pixel density is. BUT this applies to movie watching only as most movies are filmed between 1080p or 1440p anyway and being upscaled in the studio to 4k. On the other hand, if you are planning to game on high resolution like playing games in 8k on a pc, getting the 900B OR 900C is a no brainer since the pixel output is native ( true 8k). When I play games on my 900B in 8K, the experience is incredible! You need to see it in person.

You counted 1344 zones? That is the exact same zone count from last year on the 65" 900B model. Same on 800B. So Samsung was lying when they said they almost doubled the zone count?
What is going on here? Turning on Intelligent mode doesn't show any "Auto HDR settings". So unless there is a specific setting under Intelligent mode that isn't Auto HDR. QN90C under intelligent mode shows nothing but "optimized" which is not Auto HDR since it just cranks the contrast enhancer and so on.
I am seriously disturbed by the zone count, it was supposed to increase. Or maybe they only increased it on QN95C to same count as 900B/C? I really don't get it.
Side note. Your studio lights are way bright, ha ha. So bright it almost washed out the TV.

@dennisfinan7977 Both great choices! The Samsung has 4 8K HDMI inputs which gives it a slight edge in connectivity. The Sony only has a single 8K HDMI input. At the moment it doesn't really matter a whole lot since there are so few 8K sources, but for futureproofing the Samsung is the better choice for the time being. That said, the Sony Z9L should be coming out soon so you may want to wait just a little longer before you make your final decision.

@Abt Electronics great info thank you. Amazon is also partnering with Samsung to show more 8k stuff on Amazon prime. The z9l might even be crazier in price hahab

@dennisfinan7977 Based on how they are normally priced, yes, the Sony will likely be higher at launch. But it will also likely be an amazing picture too! Thanks for watching!

@@abtelectronics Z9L doesn't exist. Sony is keeping Z9K for this year.
The 900C would be pretty superior to Z9K to be honest. 1.5X more light zones, still far more dimming zones. Upgraded 64 neural network threads in the processor.

@loki76 Thank you for the correction. You are right. We just got confirmation from Sony that they are continuing on with the Z9K for 2023.

Their firmware updates would concern me. Until they improve their track record I would avoid.
