- This is a hands-on look at Samsungs True Flagship 85" QN900D 8K Neo QLED Mini led. Samsungs approach to the 900D is it's New processing, which set it apart from the rest of the 2024 Samsung Lineup. Also included is gaming at 4K 240hz as well as a fully equipped game bar with various gaming presets to alter and enhance the image. The NQ8 AI GEN3 is truly next level.
This footage was shot at Samsung HQ.
Special thanks to Samsung. However, the thoughts within this video are mine alone.
You can purchase the Samsung 900D and anything else AV from Value Electronics valueelectroni... or call them directly at 914 723 3344 and ask for Robert or Wendy and please mention Brian at BRIAN'S TECH THERAPY

Samsung's new 2024 Flagship 85" QN900D 8K HDR QD MiniLED TVs are in-transit to us and will arrive this Thursday, March 28th and be on display in our store! Brian is stopping by this Friday to film it.
Nice review nice TV
Oled Televisions 📺 Displays Technology or the Mini LED Televisions 📺 Displays Technology will move aside very quickly when the Micro Led Displays Televisions fully arrive shortly 😀 ❤!
Pretty incredible honestly. There's life in LCD yet.
Smashing the Like Button (TM) for my boy Brian! Ty for all you do for The Community! 🎉
Thank you so very much Ryan!
I'm also a 4090 owner with a Samsung QN900B. Not many people consider that there are other resolutions between 4K and 8K. The 4090 may not be able to do 8K/60 on most games at Ultra Setting, but it can usually reach beyond 4K/60. I've played many games 5K/60, 6K/60, or 7K/60...and they all looked considerably sharper than 4K. Especially true for games that have an internal resolution modifier. You can set the video container to 8K/60, but decrease the internal rendering by 90, 80, 70% until you reach your preferred frame rate. Even 50% of 8K resolution is still twice the resolution of 4K.
Very true my friend! I gamed on it last night and I was very surprised how many games I played and enjoyed in 8K. Great comment
What about the peak brightness, Game Mode, Samsung QN900D?
I own the 65 inches QN900A, only for PC gaming
Thank you
@@levinste2750 From what I've read online, it's about 2200-2400 nits on a 10% window.
Got My 85" yesterday.
How is it? Does it upscale 1080 dramatically?
Love the channel Brian always delivers
Would like to see a comparison between this and the QN900C, as every 8K Samsung has always had fantastic new AI etc
when new but the the actual differences turned out to be much smaller IRL.
Yeah exactly. This is the obvious thing to do but these so-called experts don't think of the obvious🤣
Would love to see a side by side of this TV with a Sony XR Clear TV and compare processing.
Looking forward to the only game in town for 8k at the moment, hope it's really awesome.
You probably are using some key word RUclips doesn't like so they deleted your comments.
they don't like violent sounding words or things that could mean something naughty so try removing anything that might catch the bot. I have had it happen before and I had to reword my reply till it didn't get deleted.
You might want to search up what the latest banned words are so you can work around this crap.
sometimes it will stay up long enough for replies, sometimes it disappears right after you post it.
They are getting real picky with all that's going on right now.
@leo7onfire Well this one is here and I saw your reply about getting deleted, but my reply to you and your whole response asking Brian why things are deleted disappeared. Brian just posted a question mark because I think he wasn't sure what you were asking, gone now. Brian isn't doing it obviously so youtube is doing it on the fly. Might need to try the community page or something else to get by the bot.
On live streams if your reply is too long it refuses to post it. If this goes away maybe the bot is too sensitive to keywords or something.
As usual - awesome review!
240hz VRR, truly deep blacks, vivid colors. Im stunned
all that for just the low low price of a car!
@whiskizyo2067 we will be able to buy the 85" for $5k or less in the fall. Hardly the value of a mid range car
8k*
Very interested to see you test the 240hz motion in Gaming Mode. From what I've read it looks to be a native 120hz panel, so the 240hz is with the additive of their Motion Xcelerator feature.
Hopefully you'll be able to test the input lag and motion clarity to compare the native 120hz vs simulated 240hz. And if possible, if the 240hz is able to be applied to the 120fps console games (few as they are).
Keep up the great work!
If you're going to be running this TV through it's paces I have a bit of an unconventional request. I would like to know how the text rendering is on the 65" model, preferably *without* Windows ClearType since not every program supports it. The 8k resolution and 120hz support at that resolution suddenly makes this TV a viable (albeit ludicrous) PC monitor, but the BGR subpixel layout might throw a wrench in those plans.
Cont decided between LG G4 77 inch or QN900 D 77 inch
I can't wait for your coverage. If 4K240 works without losing signal, the 85" model will be on my short list of TV's to buy in 2024.
@leo7onfire The QN900C uses the same One Connect Box as the S95C. I experienced numerous dropouts with my original S95C 65". Samsung replaced the entire unit, and everything has been perfect. No dropouts with my 3090 gaming PC, PS5, or XSX. Early reports from the S95D with the new One Connect Box with 48Gbps HDMI ports are promising.
@@Nwordplzplzgood to know. My 85’ QN95B has drop outs here and there and it is so annoying
@@jonsatvoutdoorchannel6686 Are you still within warranty? I'd contact Samsung. My replacement S95C 65" has been perfect. No issues whatsoever.
Yeah, I'm hearing that Samsung has those issues figured out
HDMI voltage problems solved by using a fiber optic directional cable.
I wanna hear your thoughts😊
I was going to get the Samsung QN900D back in April 2024 but suprisingly the picture quality of the Sony Z9K still impressed me even with less local dimming zones, Sony's local dimming algorithm with the Back Light Master Drive is no joke...so I ended up with an 85" Z9K
Doing advertisement under every 900d video for old outdated Z9K huh
Much appreciated Brian 🙏 If you're ever able to get your hands on one of these I'd love to see a little Series X action 💪
Wow, Joel!! Very generous of you, my friend. You'll see PC on it very soon, which is essentially series X. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY 👍👍💜
Is the LED grid visible on light blueish-white backgrounds? The only gripe I have with my QN900b.
Show us the PC at 240 hz Gsync as soon as you can , looking forward to it !
Hello Brian ☕️ Good morning from Greece 🇬🇷
Awesome video I loved it.
The game mode looks almost cartoonist to my eyes at least
Owner of the s95c, keep up the great work
Yo Brian Amazing footage my friend! She's a beauty 🤩
Impressive, but I think that this video processor inside an QD-OLED (2nd or 3rd gen ) panel would make the 900d sell a lot less units
I can’t quite see. Does this specific model have two high rear wall mounting points or one large central one? Thanks PS radically better than a Qe85qn95b ?
Hi Brian thanks for review what will you personally recommend and why? LG G4 vs Samsung 900D?
Great question. Following.
Brian can you please reply?
Thanks Brian , Nice tv
Using Kodi Omega with 8K material (RED) via a gtx4080 on the QN800. Perfect match! 😊
Amazing looking tv!!!!
Gorgeous tv!!!
Can you do 240hz pc gaming on it?
Will the blacks be good on the 65inch model looks nice
Picture quality will be consistent at all sizes my friend. I'll definitely check out the 65" if I can . Stay tuned for an 8k gaming vid in a few days
16k is the industry standard. Imagine watching the Golden Girls is pure 16k????
What about upscaling from 240, 480, or 720? Will it still be great?
Hi Raymond this is actually the TV'S true strength.
good to know they don't have their best processing in 4k even QD OLED like Sony and LG do
very nice
You beat 4k above 120 hz and rumor of possibly 8k get boost above 60 hz in near future it that or up conversion box if there is such thing.
How does this compare to the Z9K?
It beats it. The Z9K is excellent and very bright. But it's way behind In processing. The 900D is also bright with better local dimming and the new Samsung processor is excellent at upscaling everything
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Wow, Kudos to Samsung for pulling that off. Impressive!
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Hey Brian, can you please look into the Sony Bravia 9? It looks like it might beat out the Q900D
I truly believe that when the best 👌 Digital Images Display Technology which is Micro Led Television 📺 Display Technology fully equipped with 4,000 nots of Brightness and the 3-times the pixels density of 25, 000 pixels elements to make-up the pictures ❤😅📸 becomes more available right away the current QD-Oled or WRGB Oled Televisions 📺 Displays Technology will move aside 😀 for sure. Amen!
Nobody is doing the 8K TVs with the smaller sizes, and that's the problem for me and everyone,
who hasn't unlimited space.
The lack of 8K content is the other reason...
This or the Sony X95L?🤔 The one connect box is a deal breaker for me. Terrible use of space and engineering, what a shame. Remote is trash too.
LCD isn't a flagship.... With a disgusting silver bezel, totally distracting what the hell are Samsung playing at...
L.
The bezel is black on the D fooo!
more like, what samsung THINKS is the flagship XD
Whilst other manufacturers have dropped 8K, Samsung is still flogging the 8K dead horse to customers.
Don't like my comment, like the video.
I love the comment! Thank you so much
Samsung is nerfing their tvs. Not worth the headache. They get you to buy, then lower the brightness so you buy again for their next tv
8K completely pointless we cannot even get 4K broadcasting... 8k a total gimmick....
It’s about the processing dude
Not if you're using 8K connected to a PC like I do. I use it as a monitor, and it is amazing. I can get many games running at 8K with DLSS. There's plenty of 4K TV's and monitors out there for you. Let the 8K people have their 8K set. Thank you.
I'm gonna use thr upscaler and have a 4090 - will get a 5090. So, this TV is for peeps like me
4k 240hz with DLSS will look awesome
Thank you Brian for this review. Looking forward to seeing this beautiful TV comparison alongside the 85" Z9K (which I currently have) and the LG 8K OLED and Mini LED Models.
Thank you for yet another awesome video! Love your channel and how you present technical details in easy to understand and follow!
The pleasure is mine, my friend! Thank you so very much for the kind words
Nice. But after getting my new 65inch LG C3 I am out on tv's and this time it's for a few years or more. Now my sole focus is on the audio side of things.
It's smart going this route. I have the a90j and ended up upgrading to a Dolby Atmos system afterward. I'm ready for a higher TV now though haha
It's good to wait several years in between. It allows you to enjoy your purchase and be even more pleasantly surprised each purchase due to the cumulative upgrades.
thank Brian! I'll take a peek at it when I'm at VE in early may!
My Dream 📺… thanks Brian! Brilliant video man 💪🏼
Ny pleasure Chad!
When will sony announce an 8k tv?
Given Nvidia dlss, people shouldn't be so surprised about upscaling. Upscaling is the future. 8k and 16k resolutions are useful due to the ai upscaling. Upscaling and frame generation. If I was Nvidia, I would sell my upscale tech to the TV brands.
Be ready to be disappointed when you spend all that money on this TV then watch 70% of your show in sdr and the programs will look like crap remember the best picture in the world still won't make Oprah look beautiful lol.
@richardcerritelli9657 you'd actually be wrong considering the QN900D'S upscaling is among the best in the entire industry. Otherwise wonderful comment
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY That's how stores trick people they put 4k contact on Demos in stores then when you take the TV home real world hits watch my old classics on TV look like shit.
Nice review. Still loving my old 65" QN800A 8K television and smile at the picture when watching the "8K content" on RUclips.... it looks amazing, almost like being in Greece - without the 9.5 hr flight. :) Upscaling is great. I can only imagine stepping up to this QN900D monster.
Will it be possible later to play 120 Fps in 8K via update? Or is the processor not made for it?
And waaaaaaay tooooooo expensive. As all of you RUclips reviewers keep saying - we can miss what we don’t have and there is a “good enough” sweet spot for the average streaming/gamin enthusiast that offers great tech great size and a great price. That ain’t this TV.
I would love one for the upscaling. But they are so pricey and you can get a nice Oled for less. Hard to justify.
Thanks for testing gaming! I would personally set a 6k resolution from nVidia Control Panel and play at 60fps
Can’t wait to see one with my eyes ,,,I’ve got 900c and find that amazing, other half likes it also so I can see a 900d arrival before end of summer ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍 got the why 8k from wife but over the months she has been watching the 900c over the 4k qn95 ,,,thank you Samsung you have a new female fan 👍🤭😀😀😀😀😀
The 900D will show the reason for 8K or at least the processing that provides the upscaling. Hope all is well with you guys and thank you for being part of the community and family
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY no thank you for all the hard work , wife said you bit of a hunk 🤣🤔🤔🤔🤔
I bought a samsung QN900A 75" a few years ago because i had experienced burnin with oled (1 gen). 2 years later my expensive mini led tv have two huge gray square visible in bright scenes. Super annoying. Of course it was only 2 years warranty from samsung.. Going back to OLED again.
It's really tragic that Samsung puts 4K240hz on the most expensive LCD TV they make when enabling 4K240hz on QD-OLED would unquestionably make Samsung TVs the most desirable gaming display on the market.
How the multiview works? You can show 2 pc's same time? Can make it 32:9?
For the owners of 8k tv how it works as pc monitor for work?
Thanks
i am a samsung fan and i know they can create such incredible tech❤❤❤
Would you have this vs lg g4?
Is there any word on a flagship like this in a 98"+ size? I already have an 85" Hisense, and if changing, I prefer to up the size. I don't want any Hisense/TCL, etc as ALL of them have broken or had problems within a year ago a half. My Samsung and Sony are going strong. Looking at Samsung/Sony/LG only.
There us but it will be about 30k at least . The Q90D at 98" is about 20k
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY I might have to put up with this Hisense one more year 😒
Hy Brian i have tecnical question about one connect box cable... witch one you raccomended for give me the best performance with no drops out in game the one invisible cable (longer cable) or shorter cable ? is there is a difference or they perform the same? i talk about the cable attatvh to the tv from one connect box thank you
No loss of quality either way my friend. The length is simply for ease of use with your set up. Use the shorter one for cable management if the one connect box is close. You are good either way.
Samsung tv QN 900d tuner stellte to tv dvbs2 or dvbs2x?
Was super nice to see 8K Tekken 8. Great video!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Awesome video Brian!!
Thank you, my friend !
I wonder who will be willing to pay nearly double for 85” 900D over 83” G4 just get worse processing, picture quality, and reflection handling ? 🤔 did someone at Samsung was hit in a head? TCL will absolutely demolish Samsung LCD share. All they need to do is create 100” 8k tv for under 10k.
Well done Brian, greetings from Poland
Thank you, my friend! Greetings from me to Poland
Wow.. I'm an 8K convert! Looks incredible. I used to scoff at 8k tv's but this completely changed my mind, especially as a PC gamer. I was dead set on the 83 G4 but now I am not so sure with this TV around.. hopefully goes on sale later in the year.
Curious, do you think there'd be much blooming on yellow subtitles with black background? As I'm hearing impaired I use subtitles for pretty much everything. This is one of the main reasons I like OLED!
And lastly, do you think you'd get this TV over the 83' G4 not considering the price difference?
Thank you! Your channel is the best!🤌
