This is my son Andre. I am blown away by the quality of work he does. The detail and the thoroughness. I definitely can't take credit for this. He goes above and beyond doing any job. Very proud of you son. keep up the good work. Very few can match you
+1 great work! I’m sure he learned from the best. I’m about to have new skylights installed on our flat roof and this video was really helpful to understand the process.
My aunt needs a skylight replacement. Considering how nicely you installed our flat roof, we’d love to have you back for a skylight replacement. I’ll put you guys in touch, thank you!!! Nice to see your work again in this new video!
Do you need to apply caulk or is the rubber gasket these veluxe skylights come with enough to seal as it sits on the curb? Sorry if I missed it in the video
Sometimes we travel to Jersey it really depends on the size of the curb, and if you were replacing the skylight at the same time generally anywhere from 2.5k - 3.5k
Great video and awesome job! I'm a newbie, and I need to know.. I noticed you added a top and bottom extra wood to compensate the extra space and it looks great. But my concern.. is there any danger that the sun points directly to the wood, overheating it and catching fire? I don't know if the different materials such as glass, acrlylic, polycarbonate, etc. could be a potential risk to transfer too much heat?
I know I totally messed it up. It’s funny because it’s kind of all the same. I even supplied liquid catalyst from Siplast to Kemper so they could reverse engineer the catalyst.
Great video, as a home inspector I find skylight defects on a regular basis. My RUclips channel has a few related videos. I would like to invite you to be a guest on my podcast to discuss skylight inspections and installations . John laforme

Wow. You don't see this kind of knowledge and experience often. Rarer still is the commitment to doing a job right. Kudos to you, Andre!
I really appreciate the kind words
Finally some good videos on flat roofing

Great work. Learn something new today.
Thanks 🙏
Great job brother can this be done in the winter with those same type projects in Toronto Canada?
The work can be done in the winter you’ll have to do most of it with the torch down then the corners you’ll do with the liquid applied membrane
Liquid applied to membrane? What product would you recommend or is that a liquid rubber product?
Do you need to apply caulk or is the rubber gasket these veluxe skylights come with enough to seal as it sits on the curb? Sorry if I missed it in the video
@@ericflores4728 it comes with one that is pretty good
@@AllRoof. Thanks!
would be cool if you could have left the materials used in description
Great vid! Can we have the actual products please? I have to instal two roof lights on a bitumen flat roof. These products cld b perfect! Thnkuuu
Subscribed just because i see you run hilti, fuckin rights bud
Wait till I put out a tool review on all their tools, then we're really fuckn talking....
Correct me if I'm wrong, you cut the curb on an angle? Like a10 degree slope?
very nice work
thank you for sharing your impressive work
I appreciate your craftsmanship
Thank you! Cheers!
Will this work on a modified bitumen roof that does not have the rough gravel surface?
If this rooftop were a usable deck (for entertainment) would the skylight need a guardrail or sone kind of cage to meet code? Thanks!
Yes, that would definitely require safety precautions.
great video!
very nice video. thanks.
Question. Aren't you supposed to install "dome" type skylights on flat roofs?
No, you don’t have to. I actually do not recommend or install poly acrylic skylights, because they often leak after only a year of being installed
How did you secure the curb to the roof?
5” screws
About how much is something like this? I know I need a quote and blah blah but just wondering. And do you guys have a team in Jersey?
Sometimes we travel to Jersey it really depends on the size of the curb, and if you were replacing the skylight at the same time generally anywhere from 2.5k - 3.5k
Why is it raised and not installed directly in the roof?
We install a curb, because if we mount that glass close to the roof, what can happen is the snow can build up and leak into the building
Why not just do a torch curb? Came out good, but chose the most expensive way possible to do it.

I turned it off as soon as he said Soprema parapro about half way through as it’s a siplast product
