At least you laughed it off Peter. As others have said, good job you weren't in the depths of Wales when it happened. Been there, week before Christmas, snow on the ground, no phone signal, locals stop speaking English when you find a village pub. Scary place to be. Glad you both made it home & look forward to episode two. All the best, Geof
That's a real bummer! I'd have been equally as gutted. But, at least you managed to get home, and a big thumbs up to Bristol Porsche for helping you guys out! Great video as always mate, keep 'em coming :)
Congratulations for your great job! I like very much your videos. Bad thing for Caterham new car broken... Best wishes and we want more new videos in the same line! I love it!!! :)
Sorry about that,, I woke this morning feeling like crap and was looking forward to seeing the Caterham blasting through the Welsh mountains.. I used to do the same years ago in my Lotus Elan Sprint
Shame! Did you get back to try the Beacons Roads yet? The A4069 is almost literally on my doorstep at one end, often go over it in an MG. Some good roads around Brecon itself also. Hope you get to try them out.
Gutted for you mate. But next time will be more special now because you can look back at this and laugh. That Lambo was a serious peace of kit. Good work love the channel
New to Petrol Ped. Here following all things Caterham. Really impressed by the video and your very generous responses to the comments. How many times did you have to write about the car’s hard life due to motoring journos? Well done. You’ve got another subscriber now. Thanks. Hope you can go back in the Caterham and eventually film what you set out to do.
It let you down in the right place so there are some positives. Bristol is my local supercar showroom and the Porsche guys are a great bunch! Chin up Mr Ped. Its all stuff that happens in real life :-)
There’s a caterham7 dealership in West palm beach Florida. I’ve call them but their number is disconnected. There’s a dealership there but I’m not for sure they sale caterham7 cars anymore.
Well that wasn't lucky number7 I was so much looking forward to your blasts in Wales, Cant wait for vmax as you said it could have been a lot worse stuck in the hills with no phone signal, better luck at vmax 🍻👍🏁
Welcome to Wales.. oh well Well maybe not..🙃 😢 I moved to Wales from the Midlands way back in the 80's because I used to ride my big bikes backwards and forwards to Hay on Wye.. travelling up through the Black Mountains.. in the end I thought why waste so much time getting out of the Midlands and over to Wales.. why not just move to Hay on Wye so one day I loaded my bike up and did just that.. I haven't rode a big bike for nearly 10 years due to very bad arthritis but I still enjoy having fast acceleration.. I own a Peugeot 208 gti at this moment in time but possibly buying a Mk8 Golf R later next year.
that's not good is it why haven't they put a stronger universal joint in the first first place on the prop shelf clearly not strong enough this is quite common I think isn't it heard it before
Hi Peter, could you please get your hands off my Lamborghini Perf I picked it up today well in my dreams I did anyway it's a real shame about the car mate but we all have days like this Peter but a great video mate at least your safe and this could have happened in the mountains then what as you would have no chance of making a call on your mobile you could have had a hike on your hands. Best wishes, Alan B
Porsche would have been the heros if they'd lent you a car !!! Ps. Black mountains, Wales, aren't really all that - some of the North Lincolnshire lanes are the real roads to go to.
Ahhh..... done that so often in my modded 500BHP saab. Used to say it’s not a proper road trip without a good breakdown! Next time eh? SOULFIRER UKSaabs
Drive shaft ? You gotta be kidding me! Do you think Porsche 911 ‘s drive shaft breaks like this junk? If the car cannot suck up high power, then do not keep putting more powerful engines! I thank you very much for uploading this. I do not want to be a driver of this junk! I was seriously buying this junk!
Nice clickbait, watched 3 times.. couldn't find the idiots... ;) But on a more serious note.. Sucks 'bout the driveshaft... happens tho, BUT that means you were enjoying yourselves up to that point.. made for a good vid.
I was considering buying a Caterham. I am changing my mind after watching this video. What a piece of junk the car would be! It does not matter how fun it is to drive. It is like Ferrari’s in 70s where they often got on fire. With technology development in the 21st century, this is not acceptable at all.
I just wonder WHEN are English car makers going to learn to make ha reliable car? This even has a ford engine, and yet they fail on the one the freakin drivetrain. Shit. JUST MAKE IT MUCH STRONGER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE and maybe it'l hold. It's like they are going on margins all the way or something.
+Joakim Knutslien This particular car is the Caterham Press Demonstrator and has had a hard life. 20,000 miles of journos driving it hard. It had race drive shafts but they had just been thrashed too much ?
At least you laughed it off Peter. As others have said, good job you weren't in the depths of Wales when it happened. All the best,

Episode 2 will be a good one !
That's a real bummer! I'd have been equally as gutted. But, at least you managed to get home, and a big thumbs up to Bristol Porsche for helping you guys out!
Great video as always mate, keep 'em coming :)
Cheers James. Porsche Bristol and Caterham were absolutely amazing :-)
Hey Ped! How did you find living with and driving the sequential on the road? I’ve heard mix reviews..
It great to be honest. Noisy and clunky. Only happy when being driven flat out 😜👍
Anyone else getting anxiety watching the helmet slide along the bonnet when the car was warming up XD. Great vids though!!!
LOL...I did too when I watched it back 😂
Put on helmet to avoid stones in eyes and face.
Rides with helmet visor OPEN :D :D :D
Congratulations for your great job! I like very much your videos.
Bad thing for Caterham new car broken...
Best wishes and we want more new videos in the same line! I love it!!! :)
Caterham were amazing and got the car back to me the following Monday !
Do you have a North American version of the caterham7 620 R?
Not sure 🤔
Sorry about that,, I woke this morning feeling like crap and was looking forward to seeing the Caterham blasting through the Welsh mountains.. I used to do the same years ago in my Lotus Elan Sprint
I was SO gutted. Got the car back 2 days later and had a blast with it. Check out this one...

Non of cars model comes closer to chathem.. Classic😬👌👌👌👌
Great job keeping a good attitude even when things don't go your way. Great Video.
Thanks 👍
No don't give up, still a good day out with a mate. Lots more adventures to come I'm sure.
Cheers Steve. Of the Leicester on Friday so that will be fun !
Not like my old VX220 turbo which was press start and drive off. If I warmed that up at 05.30 I’d have no more friends in the street. Love it.
Your style of vids are a pleasure to watch. Keep it up. 👍
That is very kind of you to say. Keep watching ;-)
Shame! Did you get back to try the Beacons Roads yet? The A4069 is almost literally on my doorstep at one end, often go over it in an MG. Some good roads around Brecon itself also. Hope you get to try them out.
I've not made it back just yet, but hope to sort that out soon :-)
Gutted for you mate. But next time will be more special now because you can look back at this and laugh. That Lambo was a serious peace of kit. Good work love the channel
Cheers Adam. Yep, we'll be back in the Spring and yes that Lambo was truly stunning !
New to Petrol Ped. Here following all things Caterham. Really impressed by the video and your very generous responses to the comments. Hi Matt. Thanks for the note. I hope to go back in the spring, maybe in a 420R :-)
Enjoyable video Pete but what a gutter for the little Caterham. Get well soon!!! Roll on take two.
Take Two coming soon !
tilt slide truck with spec lift handy bit of kit.
Went to rybrook Bristol on Saturday. Beautiful 720s but it had a dint in the door panel 😧
Ouch !
It let you down in the right place so there are some positives. Bristol is my local supercar showroom and the Porsche guys are a great bunch! Chin up Mr Ped. Its all stuff that happens in real life :-)
Cheers Ray. It was still a great day and Porsche were very good to us :-)
Oh no best laid plans and all that. The joys of super sports car ownership. Good luck for the next trip/attempt.
Cheers Tom :-)
This is awesome 👏🏻
Cheers 👍

That’s a shame 😢
Owhhhh Pete unlucky mate🤦🏻♂️ lovely car mind, saying that some of the cars at RRbristol looked amazing
Shit happens ! However, Caterham were amazing about it :-)
Well that wasn't lucky number7 I was so much looking forward to your blasts in Wales, Cant wait for vmax as you said it could have been a lot worse stuck in the hills with no phone signal, better luck at vmax 🍻👍🏁
Gutted but onwards and upwards as they say !
Should bring your mate for more vids, a great petrol ped-duo 👍😎
He's a biker too !! He's up for that :-)
Oh dear. Onwards and upwards though. Lovely cars at Bristol.
These things happen. I now have the car back and it's continuing the scare the s**t out of me :-)
Welcome to Wales.. oh well
Well maybe not..🙃 😢

These things happen. Still looks like a good day out. The Caterham looks bonkers if a little scary when going past lorries on the motorway !!!.
Yeah, looking up at the top of a moving tyre is a bit worrying !
Ooopsy lol Let me know if Brecon happening as not that far away Fancy a beer? Lol
hey at least the beer was cold - hopefully :D gotta check that curry out when next time in goodwood :)
There are two India Gates (one in Chi and one on the road to Bognor) and they are both great for sit down and take away :-) The Cobra was lovely !
"let's off road"
that's not good is it why haven't they put a stronger universal joint in the first first place on the prop shelf clearly not strong enough this is quite common I think isn't it heard it before
Will the Bell helmet fall off the bonnet or not, the suspense killed me.................
LOL...it did as well, I just cut that bit out !!!
knew it! subbed, see you @goodwood sometime ;)
Cheers Alan. I think you might have to join the queue for the Performante ! Honesty one of the most stunning cars I have ever seen !
Porsche would have been the heros if they'd lent you a car !!! Ps. Black mountains, Wales, aren't really all that - some of the North Lincolnshire lanes are the real roads to go to.
We did try for the new GT3 but had to do with a free coffee !
Yeah fair enough
Ahh mate, shocker.
Yup...gutted :-(
Breakdown attributed to Car Throttle's fry up.
Certainly the staining on the exhaust !
What a bummer Pete! Could have been worse, I thought maybe you'd crashed it which would have been embarrassing to say the least.
That is true Nick. You spend every second behind the wheel of that car trying not to crash !!!
BTW great music used in your edit, really good :)
What a wally....
Yep 😥
The cater ham really is like a lotus (Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious).
They are normally very good but this press car has had a hard life 😂
Agree with you. A piece of junk it is!
can the 620r b imported to the States. I just need 1
Probably no safe enough for you guys ;-)
Petrol Ped cool that you replied. and fair point on it probably not being safe enough in the US lots of horrible drivers.
Ahhh..... done that so often in my modded 500BHP saab.
Used to say it’s not a proper road trip without a good breakdown!
Next time eh?
SOULFIRER
UKSaabs
What a bugger.
I was enjoying the road trip until it broke. Must have been those other journos who drove it before you...lol
This car has had a hard life !
The breakdown is not a good advert for Caterham. Just when I thought of trading my Exige 410 for it!
As I said. A press car that has had a hard life 😂
Oh no. Never mind. Better luck next time. Thought the curry was a great idea :)
It was a VERY good tasting Ruby. We were too knackered to go out on the town !
hi very good video hope you both enjoyed your curry.
We did...it was lush and washed down with quite a few Cobras !!!
who is going to pay that !
Caterham were very kind and fixed it :-)
Oh I didn't think they were unreliable
+Toby walker This Press Car gets a proper bashing. They are normally very reliable 👍
That will teach you for going to Brizzle, should have carried on across the bridge into gods own country.
I wish we had made it that far !
Shame, great car. It happens, it’s always the issue with a highly tuned car that really is designed for the track not our rubbish roads, lol.
British reliability.
This Press Car has had a hard life. It was the car the was the star of the show at Goodwood Festival of Speed :-)
Drive one before you make your mind up. Perhaps the best drivers cars you can buy 👍
Brit Mark Webber
Nice clickbait, watched 3 times.. couldn't find the idiots... ;)
But on a more serious note.. Sucks 'bout the driveshaft... happens tho, BUT that means you were enjoying yourselves up to that point.. made for a good vid.
Clickbait...surely not ?!
I was gutting but as you said it did make for an alternative vid !
I was considering buying a Caterham. I am changing my mind after watching this video. What a piece of junk the car would be! It does not matter how fun it is to drive. It is like Ferrari’s in 70s where they often got on fire. With technology development in the 21st century, this is not acceptable at all.
I need to remember this is a press car and has a VERY hard life 😜
Not a great advert for the brand
I just wonder WHEN are English car makers going to learn to make ha reliable car? This even has a ford engine, and yet they fail on the one the freakin drivetrain. Shit. JUST MAKE IT MUCH STRONGER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE and maybe it'l hold. It's like they are going on margins all the way or something.
