Working on project like this is something I would value, it even has elements of something spiritual and with technology as we know today that has to be something unique. I like the fact that everything is done safely and money was not an object yet no funds have been wasted, all work done by hand by craftsman and skilled people. These kind of things and the car it self is something no money can buy. Great way to rise a company image in eyes of those that understand life.
Everything about this car is divine. I like to truly congratulate everyone involved with passion in this project for bringing back to life such a goddess. Just a beauty.
Amazing using a frame and starts the journey from history to remake. Would be a great commercial of this 1930 car to be transformed to 2030. Loved the emblem on the hood. Also loved that a kid was able to see this project finished at the end of his life.
Top quality work from great specialists. My father worked in a coachbuilder shop about 60 years ago. He still had all the knowlegde of the old days. When I see those guys welding aluminium by hand: This is extremely hard and whenever I tried it, I failed miserably!
Poetry of motion. the lines of streamliners are a thing of beauty. Mercedes recaptured it with the reconstruction of this car. I'm astounded they even had an original engine type to drop into this beauty. I really love these cars. All things considered, I'd take one of these over any other car, old or new, especially over new ones. The style and grace can't be matched.
Being in a technical, hands-on industry myself, I really appreciate and thank Mercedes-Benz for honouring this vehicle and bothering to actually spend the money to employ expert craftsman to attend to this project. Nowadays, too few companies want to spend money on quality craftsmanship, and only want to make money for shareholders. Well done to the directors having the courage and fortitude to be bold.
I don't know much about cars, but in the United States at least, Mercedes has always been synonymous with quality, style, and performance. This video is proof that it was as important in the 1930's as it is today. Incredible!
The manner in which M-B undertook and perfected the total reverse build of the 540K Streamliner is in my opinion a most ample restating of the kinds of dedication, disciplined commitment, intelligence, and wisdom that should be a source of pride for the German People everywhere. Many appreciative comments already made here and below, and somehow one very important point has not been addressed. Whilst every country and society has added much to the development of humanity forming our modern world, no group has ever out classed the developmental engineering accomplishments of the 1930s German people. And you know what I lam leaving unsaid, here.
Oh, the music, the score of constant and impending suspense and intrigue. We get it. Got it. Take it easy maestro. At some point sustained suspense in no longer suspenseful at all. Great film. Incredible story. And, Mercedes, of course.

Mercedes Benz is thought of as a perfectly designed, perfectly made, perfectly tested car. True. But this video shows, they have emotions, they have heart as well as mind. A short story. Years ago I had a Mercedes, serviced by the dealers. A truck ran into the car while it was parked. I had a good friend who owned a bodywork repair company. I first took the car to the dealers, mentioned my friend could repair it. The service manager took my arm. He said you are free to take the car there. But we would prefer if you would use us. If we made any kind of mistake, we correct it. I said you don't make mistakes. He smiled. They repaired the car.
What a beautiful car you can see it was a Mercedes Benz even if you took the badges off .Hats off to the original makers and the guys who reconstructed the newer one .
WoW that was amazing 🤩. Now this is how classic cars should be built and we can put in the modern emphasis like the headlights in air condition the comforts of today's cars yet having the classic look of yesterday. Car manufacturers to take this into account and do these retro cars as some of the production cars and their sales 💰💰💰would go up. Amen 💥👍😇
Beautiful Car! Beautiful Story! I wish we could have cars with this graceful and classic retro-styling - to go with today's technology. C'mon, Mercedes Benz! Get To It! Let's have a REAL CLASSIC STYLE RE-BORN. I would buy one of these and I am certain you would have no shortage of buyers - hankering for the Romance of Motoring!
i remember watching this video a few years ago. Still enjoyed every second of it. I would compare this to the recreation of the Bugatti Aerolithe. The cost was probably similar, too. This is certainly the kind of car that would be cool to commission as a new build. scratch built as a coachbuilt car.
What a beauty! I got the giggles though, when I converted 186 km/h. So much concern and testing for only 115mph. Certainly impressive for the day of course, and again, oh so beautiful at any speed!

These kind of things and the car it self is something no money can buy. Great way to rise a company image in eyes of those that understand life.
Everything about this car is divine. I like to truly congratulate everyone involved with passion in this project for bringing back to life such a goddess. Just a beauty.
Unbeschreiblich…! Was für ein Projekt, was für ein Auto… leider gibt es so etwas heute nicht mehr 😢
Is that why they used luminium on race cars. must have been a pain building race cars just saying.
Just tears when it reached 185 ... Wow what a beauty
Thank you! #TheBestOrNothing
My grandfather owned 5 mercedeses he always told me about how perfect they were i hope i will own one in the futur
We hope one day for you too! You must have a lot of nice memories with our stars. 🥰
This should be made into a movie.
fantastic restore .
🇦🇺😷
I love how Mercedes really preserve their path in the history of automobile
And you know what I lam leaving unsaid, here.
..Wau.. I'm speechless..one of great story, I'm watching like some top classic movie..and congratulations for all team behind..bravo
How wonderful to watch a miracle being done, well done to all involved.
these types of things are one of the reasons Mercedes is my favorite car brand
Mercedes Benz has always cared about their classic cars. Not many parts you can’t get for older Mercedes Benz even today !
Oh, the music, the score of constant and impending suspense and intrigue. We get it. Got it. Take it easy maestro. At some point sustained suspense in no longer suspenseful at all. Great film. Incredible story. And, Mercedes, of course.
I'd really like to congratulate everyone involved, from those working on the car back in 1937 to those restoring it these past years. Superb job, everyone. It really was quite the emotional journey.😀👍👌🤝
Am I the only one that sees some Tucker, and Batmobile? Love the work these guys put in.
Thank you for sharing this story with us, Andrew! 😊 What a great memory.
What an unique work huh. What an unique car, absolutely incredible.
What a beauty of a car....
@Mercedes-Benz we want more Cars like that...
I had stewardship of a '58 180D and a '72 220D. Recognizable were the components, fit and finish and the heritage of the 300Sc. Thank you.
What a beautiful car you can see it was a Mercedes Benz even if you took the badges off .Hats off to the original makers and the guys who reconstructed the newer one .
Facts !!!
i love how critical they are of their work
WoW that was amazing 🤩. Now this is how classic cars should be built and we can put in the modern emphasis like the headlights in air condition the comforts of today's cars yet having the classic look of yesterday. Car manufacturers to take this into account and do these retro cars as some of the production cars and their sales 💰💰💰would go up. Amen 💥👍😇
Undoubtedly The Best or Nothing I am speechless I am so fascinated ever since How I wish I could go to Germany and visit the Mercedes Benz Museum
We hope you get to visit us sometime! 😊
Omg. This could well have been made just for me. Wonderful stuff!
A true time piece and work of art.
Poetry in motion, mechanical art given life.
My Gawd this car touches my soul, it is so beautiful 😭
i remember watching this video a few years ago. Still enjoyed every second of it. I would compare this to the recreation of the Bugatti Aerolithe. The cost was probably similar, too. This is certainly the kind of car that would be cool to commission as a new build. scratch built as a coachbuilt car.
Ah but this Mercedes is quite a lot more interesting than the Bugatti! It is better looking & think better crafted!
That was a great time watching this film
Mercedes makes us dream :) You are the best !
Engineered like no other car.
Mercedes - Benz 🏁🇩🇪
🇺🇲👍
when they first unveiled the car, my jaw just dropped as low as it would go. That car is so extremely beautiful
We had exactly your same reaction! 🥰
What a beauty! I got the giggles though, when I converted 186 km/h. So much concern and testing for only 115mph. Certainly impressive for the day of course, and again, oh so beautiful at any speed!
As an American, I can totally appreciate German and Italian craftmanship. This time, we will all be working all together, as it should be
Why is RUclips just recommending this to me now? Well, rather late than never. This is really extraordinary to watch
It is never too late. 😉
I drive a 1985 Mercedes Benz 300D although not super old I do love the car and its quality
GREAT automobile! Noisy in the morning! 😳
What a beautiful car - well done to all those involved!
What an amazing car. This actually made me emotional; I can only think how these guys felt.
So great! 😉
Mercedes is an emotion ❤️
Amazing journey of ingenuity, workmanship & heritage. Thank you!
Absolute precision of this build is incredible
¡Fantástico! Un trabajo ejemplar....para un proyecto ejemplar de reconstrucción y...construcción para su tiempo.
Gracias por este magnífico trabajo.
Thank you for your appreciation, Sergio! We are very happy that you liked it. 😊
Thank you for such a beautiful journey
What a joy to watch this was. Thanks for sharing.
We're happy you enjoyed!
