    I have been using all three for years and don't notice a huge difference between the Ghost and Glycerin, especially the Ghost 14, which is very comfortable.

    • @run4it
      @run4it  2 месяца назад

      Hi. Thanks for your comment.
      The Adrenaline GTS and Glycerin GTS should offer very similar levels of arch support, as the GuideRail support is essentially the same in both models. However, the slightly broader base in the Glycerin GTS may suit your foot shape better than the Adrenaline GTS.
      There's no best style of support for flatter shaped arches. Although, it's likely a broader based midfoot area will suit your foot shape better, and offer more stability as a result. You may want to consider the Saucony Hurricane 24. They have a very broad base and offer some additional support.

    I first started running in 2021. I stuck with the adreneline 21s as long as I could. Eventually I had to use 22s. They felt so narrow compared to 21s. Wondering if its the guardrails that make it feel it that way.

      Thanks very much for your comment. We're glad the review was helpful. Unfortunately, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS and Glycerin GTS (both stability running shoes) are not available in a waterproof version in the UK. The Brooks Ghost 15 neutral running shoes are available in a waterproof version - Brooks Ghost 15 GTX features a waterproof GORE-TEX Invisible Fit.

      Hi. Thanks for your comment. Out of the neutral options, the Ghost are slightly lighter than the Glycerin. Out of the stability options, the Adrenaline GTS are slightly lighter than the Glycerin GTS. However, the Glycerin models have more cushioning, which accounts for some of the difference in weight. As a result, we'd recommend picking the model that most suits what you're looking for. If you're seeking the most cushioning, it's likely the Glycerin models will the best options.

    Hi. Great video and new subscriber here. I am a walker who likes to cover long (for me) distances such as 12miles in one walk. As someone who is prone to extensor Tenosynovitis (inflammation of the top tendons of the foot) is there a shoe you would recommend? I have been using the regular Ghost for years and i am not sure if the big drop contributes to the inflammed tendons. I lace my shoes very loosely nowadays and this seems to help reduce the rubbing on the top tendons. I know you are not a podiatrist and I'm not expecting medical advice, just your thoughts! Thank you!!

      @run4it  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. Thanks for your comment.
      12 miles is a significant distance, and a long way. It's always tricky to recommend the best shoe for a specific problem, as the pathology of the issue is likely to vary. For example, as you're probably aware, there may be a number of reasons as to why you are prone to extensor Tenosynovitis. However, if the route of the issue is from overuse, then there may be some merit in trying some different shoes.
      For example, a simple change in the tongue design may alter the pressure on the top of your foot and reduce the chances of the tendon sheath being irritated. Furthermore, shoes with a different geometry to the Ghost may alter your gait and lead to the foot and ankle moving through a new range of motion - which may affect how the tendons on the top of the foot function.
      In summary, if you've been wearing the Ghost for a number of years, it might be worth trying shoes that feature a notably different midsole design. Specifically shoes that have a prominent rocker, as the rocker geometry can help roll your feet forward - which can lessen the amount of work going through the foot and ankle area. The HOKA Bondi are the obvious choice in this category. However, Brooks has also just released the new Ghost MAX (depending on where you live). The Ghost MAX feature a lower drop than the Ghost and feature Brooks' new GlideRoll technology. This new rocker shaped midsole is specifically designed to smooth out the transition from landing to toe-off and reduce stress on the lower leg/foot. They're also built on a straight last, which means there's more space around the midfoot area. Based on the fact that you lace your shoes very loosely, this may suit your feet well.
      Hope this helps and you find a solution.

    I need the support what would you say GTS or Cloud Stratus for what one is best value and especially the best for support

    • @run4it
      @run4it  Год назад

      Hi, thanks for your question. In theory, a Brooks GTS option is likely to offer more support than a Cloudstratus. It's also worth highlighting that when GTS is in the model name of a Brooks shoe, it means Go To Support. Therefore, you have a choice of underfoot experience when it comes to Brooks GTS shoes. For example, in context of the options covered in the video, you could choose between the Glycerin GTS or the Adrenaline GTS.
      In the answer above, we used the term 'in theory' because there are limitations in-terms of ability to predict how feet and legs will respond to running shoes. In our Cloudstratus 3 video, you'll notice that Finlay refers to his perception of the midsole's stability. It's not uncommon for neutral running shoes to offer significant support for a runner's feet, due to the midsole design creating a stable platform and the uppers holding feet securely.
      However, the GTS options from Brooks are definitely designed to offer a greater level of support and guidance, when compared against the Cloudstratus.
      As 'best value' can be such a subjective matter, our advice - if you were to choose a Brooks GTS option - would be to choose the underfoot feeling that best aligns with what you're looking for. We hope that helps.

    Great video! I learned a lot regarding those 3 models. I currently have the Adrenaline GTS in 4E and would like to try out the Glycerin GTS but I noticed it only goes to 2E. Will I still be able to be comfortable in a Glycerin GTS in 2E? I have flat feet and the Adrenaline GTS in 4E fits me very fine. I'm not sure if the width sizing between the Adrenaline GTS and Glycerin GTS are the same. Would you know? Thanks.

      So I used the fit finder on the Brooks website and is says based on me being a new balance 4E size they recommended 14 2E with them. I went to the store and tried them on and they fit well. Try going one size up but 2E instead of current size at 4E

      @run4it  4 месяца назад

      Hi, thanks for your question. The sizing should be very similar between the Adrenaline GTS and Glycerin GTS. However, when it comes to a 4E fit versus a 2E fit, it's probably a case by case situation. It's likely you'll need to try them and see how they compare. Usually the width of running shoes changes more than the length as you go up in size. So, as the other advice here suggests, opting for a slightly bigger size may work.

    • @run4it
      @run4it  9 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for your question. The Glycerin GTS and Adrenaline GTS are both good options for you. However, hopefully the following information helps you pick the right ones for you.
      Both models are highly cushioned and offer a soft and protective underfoot experience - which means they’re great shoes for long distance running. The Glycerin GTS feature a more premium cushioning material than the Adrenaline GTS though. This means they offer a slightly more cushioned underfoot feel than the Adrenaline GTS. As a result, the Glycerin GTS have the potential to offer more protection and comfort for longer distance runs. However, the potential downside of this softer cushioning is that you’ll lose some responsiveness (even though the DNA Loft V3 cushioning is very energy returning). This means the Adrenaline GTS are likely to feel a bit more responsive, and therefore perform better at some steadier to faster paced efforts.
      In summary, if you’re doing all your running at easier paces, and are prioritising maximum comfort levels, the Glycerin GTS might the best option. On the flip side, if you’re mixing up the paces of your runs (e.g. doing some steadier intervals), the Adrenaline GTS should feel better.
      It’s worth pointing out that there are a lot of benefits of using more than one pair of shoes for your running. In this instance, you could use the Glycerin GTS for your slow runs and long distance runs. Then use the Adrenaline GTS for your steadier paced runs and intervals. Hope this helps.

    Hi I suffer from shin splints and currently am wearing hokas Clifton 15. I have custom made orthotics and am thinking of swapping to brooks. Which brooks would you recommend for me ?

    • @run4it
      @run4it  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hi. Thanks for your question.
      If you have orthotics, best practice is to wear them with neutral running shoes. The Brooks Ghost would offer a similar level of cushioning to the Clifton (despite featuring very different midsole geometries). The Brooks Glycerin should offer more cushioning than your Clifton.
      We would recommend the Glycerin for this reason. The extra cushioning might help slow down the speed of pronation to a greater extent than the Ghost. This may lower the stress placed on the front of your lower leg area. Hope this helps.

    I'm a neutral runner, can i use stability running shoes for running???

    • @run4it
      @run4it  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for your question. If you're feet are neutral, we'd recommend choosing neutral running shoes. Stability running shoes might inhibit your feet and not feel as comfortable as neutral running shoes. Additionally, in this example, the Brooks GTS versions are both heavier than their neutral counterparts - due to the extra support.
      Although, if you find your form worsens on certain days - for example, the day after harder runs, stability shoes could be an option. However, we would suggest opting for a holistic style support, such as the Guiderail support system in the Brooks, as opposed to medial posted stability running shoes.
