I've come back to see this video a few times. Yes, I have decided to get version 2 because I will sit permanently on an M2. But I mainly wanted to compliment you on the video. It is a very fine production. The effort you put into the presentation is very much appreciated. ☆☆☆☆☆
@TIPSinc01 Yes, well, your work is deserving of the recognition you received. We'd all love to see more, for sure. But don't let the video production work cut too much into your photography time. As an artist, I am very mindful of this, as I am writing for books and a serves of RUclips videos. 🙃 🎨 📷
@@kevin-parratt-artist I won’t! Besides the episode I make I photograph a lot more that don’t end up here. Those most likely end up my website or Instagram! 😁✌🏼
I went ahead and bought this lens. I should get it tomorrow. I'm excited to see what it can do. I have used 21mm e-mount Voigtlander for travel/street photography in Japan earlier this year. I loved it! The resolution was fantastic with my 60 megapixel a7rV. It grabs a 90 degree FOV, so it was great for the narrow little Tokyo streets and alleys I was shooting in.
I am thinking of buying one and cannot decide if I should take Type I or Silver Type II. Do you still prefer the Type II? Not sure but I thought the Type I is the more comfortable one for vertical shots because of the texture on the focus ring?
They are both amazing and I shoot both. I have no trouble with switching between them too. Also, both focus knobs are great. It’s just that I think the II looks better on the silver M6 and that it feels a bit nicer on the finger. But that’s purely me.
I shoot black and white in one body, color in the other. But also when something is happening and one roll is full I can quickly switch to the other body. I want the same lens on both so everything else is consistent 😁
So if I understood correctly, your version 2 Lens has a stiff focus ring when you first started, and then it went away? My focus ring is stiff and wondering how much usage did yours get before it went away? Daily for two months? Thanks
I start to get attention to this lens because of your video. Thanks for sharing that to us. I used shoot with Summicron 35mm f2 ASPH ver 5, after noticed the weight and sharpest this lens. It is very tempting. With the similar price range, how would you compare this Voigtlsnder Ultron with the Summicron 35mm f2 8-elements replica from Light Lens Lab?
Great channel, great video. I like the look of this lens. I use Barnack Leica cameras and they have a viewfinder designed for 50mm lens. Is your M6 the same or can you compose the shot through the normal viewfinder? Sometimes I use an external viewfinder with my Leica 35mm lens, but it annoys me to make the camera bigger!
Thanks a lot! On my M6 I have multiple framelines that change when I put a different lens on. I think mine has framelines for 28,35,50 & 90mm but I could be wrong about the 90.
@@TIPSinc01 It’s very sharp with great color. I can grab a lot of sky for landscape shooting. The wide-angle distortion is great for tall buildings and street photography. I used it with my Sony a7RV, and with 60 megapixels I could dive deep into my shots of Kabukicho in Tokyo when I was there this spring. The lens is pretty large and heavy though.
Skip the 28mm and go something extra, like 21mm f1.8 with a hot shoe finder. The Voigt may be bulky compared to your Ultons, but it's such a great perspective... it's a worth the hassle!
Hi, welke straps gebruik jij voor je leica's? Zien er stijlvol uit en lijkt soepel leer. Ik ben al een tijd op zoek naar een minimalistische leren strap voor m'n camera. Thanks alvast!
As far as I know, the aspherical lens has nothing to do with vigneting, it's the diameter. Both Ultrons 28 and 35 suffer, because they are super small. Personally if I could only choose, I would preffer them to be little bigger - Summicron size and less vigneting. But I agree, stopped down, this lens is super sharp, sharper than Summicron. Great photos by the way :) And definitely try out 28mm! Oh, I can see that you've been in Cracow. That's my city ❤
I believe the aspherical design “flattens the curve” and also impacts the vignetting. But correct me if I’m wrong lol. I don’t mind the vignetting though. But if the size matters, wouldn’t the 28 summicron have less vignetting then the 28 elmarit? Because that one is very small. 🤔
@@TIPSinc01 I won't correct on aspherical lens impact on vigneting, because I don't really know haha, but surely, diameter is the factor here. Yeah, on f2.8 Summicron should have less vigneting than Elmarit wide open. Wide open on f2, it can have more vigneting than Elmarit wide open. It's like different refference - f stop.
Well, I think I know what you have in mind. The diameter is important, but I guess it's in the relation to "something", like the whole design and the sensor. If the Elmarit was wider, than it would have less vigneting. But it doesn't necessarily mean, that bigger lens of the same focal length, on the same sensor, will have less vigneting.

Hi, if you had to choose one Voigtlander, wich one would you take ? the 35mm Nokton Classic F1.4 or the 35mm Ultron F2 V2 ?
Ultron all day 🙌🏼

What about this comparison please? Summilux 35 f1.4 v2 (1980) vs. ultron f2?
No problem mate! & that would be an amazing comparison. But then I’ll need to get my hands on one. 🤔
Which lens is better Nokton Classic 35 1.4 or Ultron 35 2.0?
Depends on preference, I never shot the Nokton myself but I think it just has a more vintage quality over the Ultron, which is very sharp and clean.

Yes, on the version 2 it didn’t take too long to go away. I use it on a daily basis. The version 1 took way longer but eventually fixed itself too.

All of them are E39 diameters. If you use a protective filter that’s a bit wider and not thin then you might get some vignettes
